This paper presents preliminary results from a survey of R&D-performer industrial firms located in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The inspiration for this research comes from the Yale Survey (Klevorick et all, 1995) and from the Carnegie Mellon Survey (Cohen et all, 2002), for these Surveys are groundwork for the study of interactions between universities and firms. The objective of this Minas Gerais Survey (MG Survey, henceforth) is the investigation of specific characteristics of the interaction between universities and firms in an 'immature national system of innovation'. The first section summarizes the theoretical questions putted forward by this investigation, specially the role of universities in immature NSIs. The second section investigates the Brazilian NSI using data from the IBGE’s PINTEC, focusing the R&D performer firms in Brazil and the importance of universities and public research institutes as source of knowledge for industrial innovation. This second section presents data that highlight the position of Minas Gerais in the Brazilian NSI and helps to define the MG Survey research universe. The third section summarizes the issues involved in the adaptation of the Yale and the Carnegie Mellon questionnaires to the Brazilian reality and in the identification of the R&D-performer firms in Minas Gerais. The fourth section presents the MG Survey results. The fifth section concludes the paper.systems of innovations, interactions between science and technologies

Introduction: In the context of bone regeneration, bone defects still represent a major challenge in oral and maxillofacial clinical and surgical treatment. The biomimetic design of biomaterials by simulating the natural structure and composition of bone tissue has gradually become a point of research interest due to its advantages of simplicity and efficiency. Objective: It was to carry out a systematic review on cellular and molecular processes, as well as to present the main clinical approaches of bone regeneration for dental implants. Methods: The present study followed a systematic review model, following the rules of systematic review – PRISMA. The search strategy was performed in the PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science and Scopus, and Google Scholar databases. The quality of the studies was based on the GRADE instrument and the risk of bias was analyzed according to the Cochrane instrument. Results: A total of 142 articles were found. A total of 84 articles were fully evaluated and 33 were included in this study. Literary findings have shown that the lack of bone in the alveolar ridges has been a major problem in functional aesthetic recovery in patients who have suffered dentoalveolar trauma. The osteoinduction process is influenced by several factors, requiring the presence of inducers, which include β-glycerolphosphate, ascorbic acid, and dexamethasone. Mesenchymal stem cells acquire the morphology and components of osteoblastic membranes and begin to express alkaline phosphatase to deposit extracellular matrix rich in calcium and certain proteins, such as osteopontin and osteocalcin. The Bio Oss® (Geistlich) biomaterial, because it is biodegradable, biocompatible, non-toxic, and has low immunogenicity and bio stimulators, can act in the regeneration of bone tissue. Application of FRP and implant placement provides stable clinical results for severely atrophic maxilla 2-4 mm. Bovine xenograft alone and in combination with liquid FRP are both successful in achieving bone augmentation around implants and produce a small change in marginal bone level and a high implant survival rate after loading. Conclusion: Through the results of the present study, it was evidenced that the success of the dental implant is directly related to successful osseointegration

This dissertation presents the reports to the survey of needs and potential of social networks and mutual support in existing suburbs, in this case is a suburb of Lisboa and Setúbal. The main objectives of the study are the understanding and description of the neighborhood’s socio-demographic information and characterization of relations between neighbors. It is also intended to diagnose relational patterns and types of communication between neighbors, to analyze the working hours and time spent between family/ neighbors, and identify the different activities between neighbors. With this study it is concluded that the neighborhood is composed of two smaller neighborhoods, since the communication and relationship between the residents does not go through the physical barrier which separates them. Can also be concluded the existence of a large number of retired residents, yet the majority of the population is on working age

Football is considered the main and principal sport in several countries, being also capable of gathering and uniting crowds, despite the different genders, origins or ethnicities. Therefore, it is not strange that the media specialized in sports turn this area into a “leading figure”, however the emphasis given to Portuguese football clubs is far from being equally distributed, with the so-called “big three” - FC Porto, SL Benfica and Sporting CP - being the ones that fill the most pages and have the longest time on television or radio. Much is analyzed about the work done by the Communication Departments of larger football clubs, but what happens in the others? The way as the so-called “small” clubs communicate, thanks to the work of their Communication Departments, is already an alternative way of bypassing the traditional media and fight the shortage of news they share. But what techniques are being used and what effects are being produced? Will they be able to achieve a certain independence from the mainstream media? To get answers to these and other questions, I based myself on the reality experienced in FC Paços de Ferreira and on its FCPF Magazine project, complementing the entire observation with an interview with its Communication Department and two surveys to its supporters. After this analysis, it was possible to confirm that “small” clubs can capture highlight and take advantage from these departments, without being jeopardized in any aspect, being FC Paços de Ferreira a successful case

Spots of interaction summarize the nature of partial connections (between science and technology) operating in the Brazilian system of innovation. A pilot study in Minas Gerais, Brazil, uses two new research tools (for immature NSIs) and presents a database with research groups located in universities and a database built upon an adapted version of the pioneering Yale and Carnegie Mellon Surveys. These complementary databases identify spots of interaction, indicating how economic sectors use specific science and engineering fields. This investigation identifies a dual role of universities in immature NSIs, as substitutes and/or complements firms R&D.systems of innovation, underdevelopment, interactions between science and technology, surveys, universities
