Music festivals represent a significant part of culture as identity shapers and experience providers. With the growing use of technology in all structures of society, music festivals are not aside and have been embracing technologies as a way of creating a value offer and differentiation factor. Livestreams, cashless systems, digital events along with the use of virtual reality and social media have been ways to create a meaningful and immersive experience to the attendees and promote engagement and commitment with the music festival as a brand. This study demonstrates exactly how the implementation of technology in music festivals, thus making them hybrid, affects the overall experience of the attendee. It shows the advantages, challenges and in what specific ways it can affect the event for the promoters and the attendees, along with what aspects organizers need to acknowledge when considering embracing hybrid experiences in their festivals. It creates awareness and raises debate about this increasingly reality, providing the organization trustworthy insights about the topic of digital and/or virtual experiences

The constant use of social media networks is one of the biggest trends observed in recent years, whose popularity seems to keep growing, and always being reinvented somehow. Every person of any generation is now present on, at least, one social media network and spends a substantial part of their time interacting in online communities. And where people are, there is where brands want to be. Hence the need for companies to adapt to the digital ecosystem, ensuring their presence and maintaining the best possible practices. Although it has been observed that the relationships between brands and consumers in social networks are favorable for both parties and bring equal benefits, there are some sectors that are unable to do it as efficiently as others. A good example of this issue is reflected in the banking sector, which is one of the most outdated in this matter. This dissertation aims to understand the difficulties that currently exist in the interaction between consumers and banks on digital platforms, as well as the motivations that drive consumers to want to be part of their Banks Online Communities and to stay engaged in the long term. Simultaneously, the aim is to study the existence of variables such as Engagement and Brand Love in this area and their consequences for the topic. The data was collected through a quantitative analysis, supported by an online questionnaire based on the literature of different authors regarding the previously mentioned topics. The results allow us to understand the ways in which the banking sector can adjust in order to positively influence its consumers to be present and assiduous to their digital platforms.

Partnerships within the gaming economy: can a brand partnership within the gaming economy alter the brand personality of the sponsoring brand

As the gaming economy thrives, marketers must identify the threats and opportunities that arise from targeting the new, digitally inclined gaming audience. This paper examines the brand transference of an advergaming partnership between a gaming provider with a vibrant brand personality and a cosmetics company with an inactive brand personality. Three brand personality dimensions were analysed: Inactiveness, Sincerity, and Vibrancy. It was hypothesized that there would be a brand personality transference when 1) initially exposed to the partnership, 2) one-week after the exposure and, 3) brand personalities unrelated to advergaming (i.e., sincerity) would not be affected. H1 and H2 were accepted whilst H3 was rejected. Managerial implications are discussed based on the findings

Robustness of photon dose distributions against intra and inter-fraction anatomical changes for whole lung irradiation

Tese de Mestrado Integrado, Engenharia Biomédica e Biofísica (Radiações em Diagnóstico e Terapia ) Universidade de Lisboa, Faculdade de Ciências, 2022Approximately 400 000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, with the most common types of childhood cancers being leukemia, lymphoma, brain and solid tumors. Moreover, 10-40% of children with solid tumors present lung metastases at the time of diagnosis. Whole lung irradiation (WLI) is a treatment option for pediatric patients with lung metastases that develop from solid tumors like Ewing’s sarcoma (ES), rhabdomyosarcoma, and Wilms’ tumor (WT). However, during treatment delivery, intra and inter-fraction anatomical changes might occur and can greatly affect treatment outcome. These changes can either cause underdosages of the target volume, or overdosage of surrounding organs at risk (OARs). Since growing lung tissue is more sensitive to radiation, avoiding the irradiation of OARs while maintaining target coverage is of utmost importance. Thus, there is the need to ensure that a treatment plan is robust, which is accomplished if the planned and delivery dose distributions agree even in the presence of uncertainties. To evaluate how anatomical changes affect the treatment outcome when delivering WLI to pediatric patients, this thesis comprises a study of robustness of photon dose distributions against intra and inter-fraction anatomical changes. The present study includes treatment plans of 21 pediatric patients that received WLI at University Medical Center Utrecht. The robustness evaluation was performed against intra and inter-fraction anatomical changes. Intra-fraction changes were evaluated by recalculating the original plan on the two extreme breathing phases – maximum inhalation and maximum exhalation. Conversely, inter-fraction changes were evaluated by calculating the fractional dose on the daily cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) images acquired before treatment and accumulating the resulting dose distributions. The recalculated plans were then compared to the original dose distribution. Overall results of the study demonstrated no clinically relevant differences in terms of mean internal target volume (ITV) coverage of the lungs. However, hot spot values differed significantly for three patients. The differences observed for the V107% were due to diaphragm position shifts (two patients) and electron density (ED) changes within the lung ITV (one patient). Coverage and hot spots of metastases presented clinically relevant differences when considering the extreme breathing phases, as well as the registered-CTs. This was due to differences in ED within the metastases and position variations in relation to surrounding structures (like the heart or ribs). However, these changes were observed for the PTV only, while ITV coverage remained around 100% on all plans. OAR dose values were robust against intra and inter-fraction anatomical changes, with no clinically relevant differences to report. In conclusion, the recalculated WLI plans are considered robust against intra and inter-fraction anatomical changes when taking into consideration average results. However, some clinically relevant differences were identified per patient, which require further attention and improvement in future treatment plans

TCC (graduação) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina. Centro Sócio-Econômico. Economia.
