Tuloksia on mahdollista hyödyntää
tulosten vertailu. Myös haastattelussa esiin nousseesta opettajan työmäärän lisääntymisestä saisi
jalostettua mielenkiintoisen tutkimuksen opettajien työssäjaksamisesta
Strain variations in InGaAsP/InGaP superlattices studied by scanning probe microscopy
Strain-compensated InGaAsP/InGaP superlattices are studied in cross section by atomic force microscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy. Undulations in the morphology of the {110} cross-sectional faces are observed, and are attributed to elastic relaxation of this surface due to underlying strain arising from thickness and compositional variations of the superlattice layers. Finite element computations are used to extract a quantitative measure of the strain variation. © 1998 American Institute of Physics.Peer Reviewedhttp://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/71059/2/APPLAB-72-14-1727-1.pd
Diode laser based light sources for biomedical applications
Diode lasers are by far the most efficient lasers currently available. With the ever-continuing improvement in diode laser technology, this type of laser has become increasingly attractive for a wide range of biomedical applications. Compared to the characteristics of competing laser systems, diode lasers simultaneously offer tunability, high-power emission and compact size at fairly low cost. Therefore, diode lasers are increasingly preferred in important applications, such as photocoagulation, optical coherence tomography, diffuse optical imaging, fluorescence lifetime imaging, and terahertz imaging. This review provides an overview of the latest development of diode laser technology and systems and their use within selected biomedical applications
A new classification of the long-horned caddisflies (Trichoptera: Leptoceridae) based on molecular data
Background: Leptoceridae are among the three largest families of Trichoptera (caddisflies). The current classification is founded on a phylogenetic work from the 1980's, based on morphological characters from adult males, i.e. wing venation, tibial spur formula and genital morphology. In order to get a new opinion about the relationships within the family, we undertook a molecular study of the family based on sequences from five genes, mitochondrial COI and the four nuclear genes CAD, EF-1 alpha, IDH and POL. Results: The resulting phylogenetic hypotheses are more or less congruent with the morphologically based classification, with most genera and tribes recovered as monophyletic, but with some major differences. For monophyly of the two subfamilies Triplectidinae and Leptocerinae, one tribe of each was removed and elevated to subfamily status; however monophyly of some genera and tribes is in question. All clades except Leptocerinae, were stable across different analysis methods. Conclusions: We elevate the tribes Grumichellini and Leptorussini to subfamily status, Grumichellinae and Leptorussinae, respectively. We also propose the synonymies of Ptochoecetis with Oecetis and Condocerus with Hudsonema.authorCount :
Innovation and economic growth in Norway
Master's thesis in FinanceIn this paper, I examine how investing in innovation affects economic growth in Norway. I attempt to conduct an empirical study using regression to examine the relationship between investing in innovation using R&D data and economic growth with GDP.
The analysis is based on time series data for the period 1970 to 2011, which is accumulated from two well known sources; Statistics Norway and the Norwegian Research Council. The results reveal that not all the assumptions for OLS are met; consequently the relationship between innovation and economic growth in Norway is not confirmed. Several explanations to these results are suggested, and even though the relationship was not empirically confirmed, one still believes in a positive relationship between innovation and economic growt
