The last of the twentieth century has left mankind a lot of surprises: the revolution in Russia and the West, two of the world and a lot of smaller, local wars, epidemics, famine. Mankind seemed forgotten the lessons of the past and caused a "mistakes" is greater than in its entire history. One of the causes of these "mistakes" that led to many tragedies and disasters in different countries and regions has been the emergence and development of totalitarianism. Totalitarianism - is a form of transition to a sustainable society with a substantial lag from the developed countries, the form of a break with the traditional society, an attempt to jump through to do what other nations sought for a long time and gradually. Totalitarianism is based not so much on the evolution of traditions, how to mobilize the resources for accelerated development. However, in practice, they are accompanied by interior and foreign adventures. If the individual jumps succeed, it is only in some one, a narrow direction. We give them huge losses, dropping masses away from democracy, humanism and freedom

Reactions of 2-cyano-6-(trifluoromethyl)-4-pyrone, 2-cyano-4-pyrone, and 2-cyano-6-methyl-4-pyrone with aliphatic and aromatic amines in ethanol at -20 C for 2-21 days gave 5-amino-3-oxopent-4-enamides in 28-78% yields, which were cyclized with DMF-DMA in toluene under ambient conditions to afford 4-pyridone-3-carboxamides in 31-70% yields. © 2013 Elsevier Ltd. Microshower structure of the meteor complex

Meteor radar observations of ionized trails in the Earth's atmosphere provide observations that do not depend on weather conditions and time of day and provide good statistics for analysis. Further development in the new quasitomographic analysis of the goniometric data of the Kazan meteoric radar has revealed a number of very weak meteoric streams with rates of more than 5-6 meteors per day. In addition to the known large meteor showers, we have found up to as many as 1000 small showers per month that we have named microshowers. We shall operationally define a microshower as the minimal meteoric stream which can be detected with the Kazan meteoric radar while quasitomographic procedures of processing interferometer data are used. © Springer Science+Business Media, Inc. 2005

Partial restoration of the actin cytoskeleton in transformed Syrian hamster fibroblasts selected for low levels of ‘typical’ multidrug resistance

    Get PDF
AbstractTwo independent colchicine (CLC)-resistant sublines of Rous sarcoma virus-transformed Syrian hamster flbroblasts were isolated. Each subline represented variants with 11- and 12.4-fold resistance, respectively, their 23- and 23.7-fold resistant descendants, as well as variants cultured in CLC-free medium for 10 months without loss of resistance. All variants demonstrated ‘typical’ multidrug resistance. The parental cells contained actin in dispersed form, as determined by rhodamine-phalloidin staining. In contrast, already in 11- and 12.4-fold resistant sublines up to 30% of cells demonstrated restored stress fibers. Cultivation in CLC-free medium leads to the accumulation of cells with a partially restored actin cytoskeleton. Putative mechanisms of up-regulation of stress fiber assembly in cells with P-glycoprotein-mediated multidrug resistance are discussed

Ecological and Physiological Assessment of Animal Anesthesia Methods

The use of pharmaceuticals is indispensable in everyday medical practice. The patient’s life sometimes depends on the right dosages and the chosen method of administration of the drug, therefore, for the successful provision of assistance to the animal, the specialist should become familiar with pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of the drugs used to prevent undesirable side effects and to reduce the risk of adverse outcome of the disease. Currently, many veterinary enterprises have been opened in Russia, a considerable number of them are private veterinary clinics, where daily surgical interventions with the use of anesthetics are carried out. Depending on the equipment they use different methods of anesthesia of animals – inhalation, non-inhalation or a combined method. The article deals with pharmacokinetic factors in the field of veterinary anesthesiology, its peculiarities associated with different methods of introduction of different groups of anesthetics, which have a similar effect on the body when injected into anesthesia. Moreover, depending on the method of introduction, their absorption into the body varies, the depth of anesthesia changes and the time of exit from it is different

The article deals with the functioning of cultural stereotypes in French, American and Russian linguistic consciousness. Cross-cultural interaction is interpreted within the framework of mastering linguocultural communication codes and the worldview of allophones. The analysis of factual data is based on the linguosemiotic approach to its interpretation within a discursive utterance

Associations of meteor microshowers or as the Kazan radar "SEES" radiants on northern celestial hemisphere

The discrete quasitomographic method of the analysis of the interferometric data of meteor radar gives us the possibility of measuring coordinates and velocities of very weak meteor showers with a 2 × 2 square degree resolution on the celestial sphere. The minimal rate of the meteors in each microstream is five meteors per day. At such sensitivity, basic distinctions between irregularities of the sporadic background and meteor streams vanish. More than 1000 of the detected microshowers per month are associated with a combination of (a) the large known meteor showers, (b) the weaker known meteor showers and (c) till now unknown associations of microshowers. All microshowers regardless of association have the identical velocities, limited areas of radiation and near simultaneity of their acting dates. The results are compiled as maps of radiant distribution and average velocities of microstreams for different months. From these it is possible to see how the microshower activity for various discrete sites on the celestial sphere correlate with the behavior of the well-known meteor streams and thus to infer the orbital properties of the different microstream configurations. © Springer Science+Business Media, Inc. 2005
