    Partial Group Representations on Semialgebras

    Let AA be an additively cancellative semialgebra over an additively cancellative semifield KK as defined in [9]. For a given partial action α\alpha of a group GG on an algebra, the associativity of partial skew group ring together with the existence and uniqueness of enveloping (global) action were studied by M. Dokuchaev and R. Exel [2] which were extended for semialgebras with some restriction by Sharma et. al. using the ring of differences. In a similar way, we extend the results of [2,3] for semialgebras regarding partial representations.Comment: PAGE 20-2

    Gabapentin a pre-emptive analgesic in post-operative pain: a randomised double blind placebo controlled study

    Background: Conventional analgesics, used in peri-operative period cause numerous adverse effects and are not free from interactions with co-administered drugs. Gabapentin has been shown to be effective in various types of neuropathic pain. The primary aim of this study was to evaluate gabapentin as a post-operative analgesic. The study also evaluates the analgesic requirement and safety of gabapentin in post-operative period.Methods: Forty patients undergoing elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy were randomized to receive gabapentin or a matching placebo. The patients of group I received gabapentin 600mg orally 2 hrs before surgery and 12hrs after the first dose. The patients in group II received a matching placebo. Patients in both groups received diclofenac sodium 75mg i.m b.i.d for pain. Additional doses were given on demand and recorded.Results: The present study found that gabapentin significantly reduced pain score and analgesic consumption as compared to a placebo for a period of 24 hours.Conclusions: Gabapentin in the doses used was found to be effective in postoperative pain in patients undergoing planned laparoscopic cholecystectomy. It was found to be safe and no serious adverse events were reported

    Mangement of Yuvana Pidaka using Mukha Lepa

    Yuvana Pidaka (acne vulgaris) is one of the most common, troublesome and frustrating skin care problem for people around the world. It is caused by to Kapha, Vata and Rakta Dhatu involving Rasavaha and Raktavaha Srotas. Apart from others unhealthy life style is identified as the major reason behind the eruption of such lesions. It has adverse effect on self esteem of the subjects and decreases one’s self confidence. Present study tries to understand the therapeutic effect of Mukha Lepa - an external application of Manjishta, Chandana, Yastimadhu and Kushta over the face mixed with milk once every morning for fifteen days after Sadhyovirechana with Avipathi Churna. Study was conducted on ten subjects and assessed with the parameters like Ruja, Kandu, Daha, number and type of eruptions before and after the procedure. The response to the treatment was recorded and the therapeutic effect was evaluated by statistical tests. A considerable change in the complexion over the face of subjects was also noted. It is observed that this particular Lepa is beneficial in the treatment of Yuvana Pidaka apart from improving the complexion of the skin

    Incidence of bone tumors and tumor like lesions at a tertiary centre - a study of 64 cases

    Background: Primary bone tumors are uncommon lesions constituting less than 1% of all cancers. Although open biopsy has high accuracy, it increases risk of tumor dissemination in patients with highly malignant tumors. FNAC eliminates the complications that may occur in surgical procedures and also gives quick results. This study was conducted to determine the spectrum and demographic characteristics of bone tumors and tumor like lesions at a tertiary care centre in western Uttar Pradesh and also to assess the role of FNAC in their diagnosis.Methods: This is a three-year, retrospective as well as a prospective study done on a total of 64 cases. All the cases were subjected to detailed history, physical examination and radiological investigations. FNAC smears were stained with Giemsa and Papanicolaou stain. H and E staining was done for histopathology.Results: Mean age affected was 26 years. Male-female ratio was 2.8:1. Out of total 64 cases of bone tumors and tumor like lesions, maximum was chondrogenic tumors (17; 26.56%), followed by osteogenic tumors (15; 23.44%). Osteochondroma (08; 47.06%), Osteosarcoma (07; 46.66%) and Aneurysmal bone cyst (04; 50.0%) were the most common chondrogenic tumor, osteogenic tumor and tumor like lesion respectively. The most common bone affected was tibia (16; 25.0%), followed by femur (15; 23.4%). Sensitivity and specificity of FNAC as a diagnostic modality were 90.0% and 91.67% respectively.Conclusions: A good correlation is observed between cytological and histological diagnoses which implies that FNAC can be used as a preliminary diagnostic approach to bone tumors, although histopathology remains the gold standard

    Honeynet Implementation in Cyber Security Attack Prevention with Data Monitoring System Using AI Technique and IoT 4G Networks

    Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) comprises of the ubiquitous object concept those are connected with Internet to provide ability of data transmission and sensing over network. The smart appliances transmits the data through CPS devices with the implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) exhibits improved performance characteristics with significant advantages such as time savings, reduced cost, higher human comfort and efficient electricity utilization. In the minimal complexity sensor nodes cyber physical system is adopted for the heterogeneous environment for the wireless network connection between clients or hosts. However, the conventional security scheme uses the mechanisms for desktop devices with efficient utilization of resources in the minimal storage space environment, minimal power processing and limited energy backup. This paper proposed a Secure Honeynet key authentication (SHKA) model for security attack prevention through effective data monitoring with IoT 4G communication. The proposed SHKA model uses the lightweight key agreement scheme for authentication to provide security threats and confidentiality issues in CPS applications. With the implementation of SHKA HoneyNet model the data in IoT are monitored for security mechanism in IoT environment. The middleware module in SHKA scheme uses the Raspberry platform to establish internetworking between CPS device to achieve dynamic and scalability. The secure IoT infrastructure comprises of flexible evaluation of user-centric environment evaluation for the effectiveness. The developed SHKA model perform mutual authentication between CPS devices for minimal computation overhead and efficiency. The wireless channel uses the dynamic session key for the secure communication for cyber-attacks security with lightweight security in CPS system. The SHKA model demonstrate the effectiveness based on consideration of three constraints such as low power processing, reduced storage and minimal backup energy. Experimental analysis stated that proposed SHKA scheme provides lightweight end-to-end key establishment in every session. The CPS devices generates the session key of 128 bit long. The minimum key size is implemented to provide effective security in IoT 4G communication with minimal execution time. The simulation results demonstrated that SHKA model exhibits effective cyber-attacks for the constraint devices to improve performance of IoT network

    Infrared ellipsometry study of the charge dynamics in K3p-terphenyl

    We report an infrared ellipsometry study of the charge carrier dynamics in polycrystalline Kxp-terphenyl samples with nominal x=3x=3, for which signatures of high-temperature superconductivity were previously reported. The infrared spectra are dominated by two Lorentzian bands with maxima around 4 000 cm1^{-1} and 12 000 cm1^{-1} which, from a comparison with calculations based on a H\"uckel model are assigned to intra-molecular excitations of π\pi electrons of the anionic p-terphenyl molecules. The inter-molecular electronic excitations are much weaker and give rise to a Drude peak and a similarly weak Lorentzian band around 220 cm1^{-1}. A dc resistivity of about 0.3 Ω\Omega cm at 300 K is deduced from the IR data, comparable to values measured by electrical resistivity on a twin sample. The analysis of the temperature dependence of the low-frequency response reveals a gradual decrease of the plasma frequency and the scattering rate of the Drude peak below 300 K that gets anomalously enhanced below 90 K. The corresponding missing spectral weight of the Drude peak appears blue-shifted towards the Lorentz-band at 220 cm1^{-1}. This characteristic blue-shift signifies an enhanced localization of the charge carriers at low temperatures and contrasts the behavior expected for a bulk superconducting state for which the missing spectral weight would be redshifted to a delta-function at zero frequency that accounts for the loss-free response of the superconducting condensate. Our data might still be compatible with a filamentary superconducting state with a volume fraction well below the percolation limit for which the spatial confinement of the condensate can result in a plasmonic resonance at finite frequency.Comment: 12 pages, 7 figure

    Association between Regulator of G Protein Signaling 9–2 and Body Weight

    Regulator of G protein signaling 9–2 (RGS9–2) is a protein that is highly enriched in the striatum, a brain region that mediates motivation, movement and reward responses. We identified a naturally occurring 5 nucleotide deletion polymorphism in the human RGS9 gene and found that the mean body mass index (BMI) of individuals with the deletion was significantly higher than those without. A splicing reporter minigene assay demonstrated that the deletion had the potential to significantly decrease the levels of correctly spliced RGS9 gene product. We measured the weights of rats after virally transduced overexpression of RGS9–2 or the structurally related RGS proteins, RGS7, or RGS11, in the nucleus accumbens (NAc) and observed a reduction in body weight after overexpression of RGS9–2 but not RGS7 or 11. Conversely, we found that the RGS9 knockout mice were heavier than their wild-type littermates and had significantly higher percentages of abdominal fat. The constituent adipocytes were found to have a mean cross-sectional area that was more than double that of corresponding cells from wild-type mice. However, food intake and locomotion were not significantly different between the two strains.     Evaluation of Nephroprotective and Immunomodulatory Activities of Antioxidants in Combination with Cisplatin against Murine Visceral Leishmaniasis

    Leishmaniasis, a neglected tropical disease (NTD) caused by Leishmania, has been put on the World Health Organization agenda for eradication as a part of their Special Programme for Tropical Diseases Research. Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is a life-threatening disease when no treatment is given. Most of the drugs still used to treat VL are often expensive, difficult to administer, have serious side effects, and several are becoming ineffective because of increasing parasite resistance. Cisplatin is a first-generation platinum-containing drug, used in the treatment of various solid tumors. We have for the first time characterized the in vivo effect of cisplatin in murine experimental visceral leishmaniasis, but at higher doses it is nephrotoxic. Considering the above findings, the present study was designed to evaluate the protective efficacy of the drug in combination with various antioxidants to reduce or prevent cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity. Drug treatment induces a higher secretion of Th1 cytokines, diminution in parasite burden, and the supplementation of antioxidants which are antagonists of the toxicity helps in reducing the nephrotoxicity
