Chemical contamination of aquatic environments to EDCs has become a major focus of environmental toxicology research. The exposure of fishes to estrogenic EDCs in aquatic environments is most frequently assessed by analyzing Vitellogenin (Vg) (the egg yolk precursor protein) expression. Therefore, characterization of Vg gene is of high priority for EDCs bio-monitoring. So, we prepared liver tissue samples of Caspian roach, Rutilus caspicus for RNA extraction. Following the cDNA synthesis, specifically - designed primers were employed to amplify the Vg gene and ultimately sequence it. The evolutionary analyses of the sequence were performed using MEGA7 software. The obtained results indicated that the designed primers successfully amplified the partial cDNA sequence. Our results indicated that this sequence most probably belongs to the Vg1 form of the gene. Moreover, it was demonstrated that Caspian roach and Petroleuciscus esfahani share a common ancestor. Noteworthy, the study of Vg gene would be helpful to understand the molecular mechanisms of development and would be used to establish a bio-monitoring tool for detection of exposure to different EDCs

There are many factors affecting aquaculture insurance in Iran. In spite of existing formulation for warm water fish culture in Iran, there was several aspects and new revisions were remind. In this study we focused on risk assessment as well as insurance procedure to find the better management practices on running insurance in the country. 360 farm in tree provinces (guilan, Mazandaran, Khozestan were selected for risk analysis program. Data were collected throw questionnaire forms. The project was carried out in fore disciplines 1) risk analyzing for manageable and unmanageable accidents and their deductible rates 2) revise premium forms , claim forms, inspection forms 3) new formulation for insurance management 4) guide lines for diagnostic futures and prevention of manageable accident

The project of survey on health status of ornamental fishes in Mazenderan , Golestan and Khorasan Razavi carried out with association of 5 , 2 and 6 centers in orderly. The main aims of this survey were identification and distribution local infectious of epizootic diseases, identification positive and negative points, offers management applicable guidelines to prevent of diseases. The results of survey showed that important virologically agent identified was Lymphocystis virus in Angel fish. Also, main bacteriologically agents were Aeromonas spp, Pseudomonas spp and vibrio. As well as, from the fungal agents that were identified can mentioned to Aspergilus flavus, Mucor, Penicilium and Alternaria. The important parasitic agents also were Trichodina, Ichthyophytrius, tetrahymena, Dactylogyrus, Gyrodactylus and capillaria. In the health management part of this survey positive points include non-application of antibiotic and cooperative of hatchery directors with executive organizations to sampling examination periodically. The negative points were non familiarity and training about fish disease, were not technical director, prepairing feeds without familiarity with principals of diets, non-quarantine units before fishes entrance to production cycles, non existens good food storage rooms, non existens foot bath in entrance gate to the hatchery systems and ets

Mullet and mullet products have considerable economic importance at a regional level, especially around the Caspian Sea. The leaping mullet constitutes an important part of their production. This study is the first detailed work on the age and growth of the leaping mullet (Liza saliens) from September 2012 to March 2013 in the Southern coast of the Caspian Sea. Age and growth determinations were based upon the scale samples taken from 102 fish. Marginal increment analysis was used to validate age determination. The back-calculated lengths stage estimated from the scale showed no differences between in this study. The maximum age of leaping mullet in the Southern coast of the Caspian Sea was 5 years for males and 6 years for females. The von Bertalanffy growth functions were Lt=30.415(1-e-0.275(t+0.645)) for males and Lt=34.832(1-e 0.211(t+1.009)) for females. A large spread and length overlap characterized the age groups. The estimated Length Weight relationships were common for the two sexes (W=0.079L3 ). The slope (b) values of the length-weight relationship showed that weight of leaping grey mullet in Mazandaran increased associated with length in isometric. The mean condition factor for males, females and all specimens were determined as 0.908, 0.900 and 0.897, respectively. According to sex groups, the mean condition factor of males was slightlyhigher than that of females. The total length for leaping grey mullet was determined as 23.3 cm

Teaching and learning in clinical rounds: A qualitative meta-analysis

Objective: Literature on the obstacles of clinical rounds is dispersed and has not been well established under a unified systematic investigation. Teaching and learning in clinical rounds, where a variety of skills important for the medical profession, cannot be augmented if barriers related to main factors in the clinical environment are not identified. Methods: A systematic review of English articles using Web of Science, PubMed, Embase, Scopus and Cochrane library were conducted. Relevant keywords and their synonyms were used for the domains medical students/clinical teachers/barriers and clinical round. Additional studies were identified by searching reference lists of retrieved articles. All searches for English language articles were conducted within a 10-day period from 25 May to 3 June 2017. No time limit was considered for article searching. We contacted Kerman University of Medical Sciences to locate some studies due to access limitation. In this systematic review, studies on the subject of barriers to clinical rounds from clinical teachers and medical students perspectives were identified. Our search strategy yielded 600 articles. After title and abstract review, 43 of these were obtained and finally 20 were included in the study. All data were abstracted from the included studies. Two authors independently screened the studies. We used inductive content analysis and categories of barriers were derived from the data. MAXQDA software version 10 was used for data analysis. Results: A total of 20 articles were included and analyzed in depth. Content analysis yielded identification of 320 codes concerning barriers to clinical rounds in six categories classified as system-, climate-, teacher-, student-, patient-, and personnel-related factors. Conclusion: Our investigation depicts primarily main barriers in teaching on rounds. In this regard, effective teaching in clinical rounds is not obtained unless barriers concerning the learning triad and its environment are explored and necessary actions are adopted accordingly. © 2021 The Author(s)

Aims: According to the development of e-learning and its high efficiency on the development of Iran’s universities, level of knowledge and the attitude of the students to this modern method of education and indeed students’ skills in using it needed to be assessed to improve the quality and quantity of universities’ education. This study aimed to determine the attitude, knowledge and skill of medical students toward e-learning at Kerman University of Medical Sciences.  Instrument & Methods: In this descriptive cross-sectional study that was performed in 2013, 196 students of Kerman University of Medical Sciences were selected using proportional stratified sampling method. The research instrument was a valid and reliable questionnaire. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient, ANOVA and independent T tests by SPSS 19 software.  Findings: The level of knowledge and skill of the students toward e-learning was “moderate” and their attitude was “high”. There were significant relationships between knowledge and skill (p=0.001 r=0.82) and also knowledge and attitude (p=0.001 r=0.37) but there was no significant relationship between skill and attitude (p=0.35 r=0.82). The scores of knowledge and skill were significantly different according to sex, but attitude had no significant difference with sex.  Conclusion: Kerman University of Medical Sciences’ students have a positive attitude to e-learning but according to their moderate knowledge and skills, performing this method of learning is not welcomed in this university
