With fiercely intense competition, having a good product alone seems inadequate to sustain and be among the top notch product in the market. To do so, marketing strategy of most business firms relies heavily on advertising to promote their products and capitalize the most prominent technique in this modern era which is the use of celebrity endorsement. Nowadays, celebrities are claimed as the most influential icons that people admire and easily attracted to. This influential power has seen to give a huge impact on most businesses especially by strengthening the company’s or product’s brand. In the meantime, having an excellent brand is considered as the most valuable asset for a company. It can be achieved by managing the brand equity in the right way. This intangible asset provides value for both the consumer and the firm. It is believed that having attractive advertising strategy that capitalizes celebrity endorsement to promote the products may increase the value of the brand which in turn can stimulate consumers to buy. Therefore this research is conducted to gain insight into the influence of celebrity endorsement towards actual purchase behaviour of consumers and investigating the impact of brand equity as the mediating variable between these two constructs. This study also intended to explore the Malaysian food brands specifically for the packaged food products. It is certainly undeniable that our local food brands still cannot compete with international origin brands. National brands are deemed as unfamiliar and unattractive enough to win the heart of consumers. Due to this crucial issue, research is conducted to examine the consumers’ purchasing behaviour of local food brands. In fact, the purpose of this research is to figure out the dimensions of celebrity endorsement that highly influence consumer’s actual purchase behavior and whether the presence of brand equity will mediate the relationship between celebrity endorsement and actual purchase behaviour of local food brands. To achieve the objectives, questionnaire was constructed and distributed to 300 respondents in Penang. Findings shown that celebrity endorsement has significant relationship with actual purchase behaviour and attractiveness of celebrity becomes the major factor in influencing consumers to buy local food brands. Results also revealed that brand equity mediates the relationship between celebrity endorsement and actual purchase behaviour and brand awareness is the most influential factor towards this relationship

Real Geodetic Map (Map without Projection)

    Get PDF
The earth as a planet is geometrically represented as an ellipsoid or a sphere where geodetic computations should be followed. In small areas and as a special case, the considered area can be treated as a plan and plan metric computations are followed. The surveying elements to be introduced to the user could be distances, bearings, azimuths, and areas. These elements can be obtained by computing them from either map (projected) coordinates or from geodetic coordinates. In the past, not everybody could deal with the geodetic coordinates, so map projection has been introduced to facilitate dealing with the map using metric units. Nowadays computers and computer programming enable us to deal easily with geodetic computations and geodetic maps. In this research, the proposed computerized real geodetic map is introduced. The computations which have been done to clear the idea of the proposed map and their results are tabulated and illustrated. Advances in information stockpiling and mining advances make it conceivable to safeguard expanding measures of information created specifically or in a roundabout way by clients and break down it to yield important new bits of knowledge. Huge information can uncover individuals' shrouded behavioral examples and even revealed insight into their expectations. All the more absolutely, it can overcome any and all hardships between what individuals need to do and what they really do and how they connect with others and their surroundings. This data is valuable to government offices and in addition privately owned businesses to bolster choice making in zones going from law requirement to social administrations to country security. One of the proficient advancements that arrangement with the Big Data is Hadoop, which will be talked about in this paper. Hadoop, for preparing extensive information volume employments utilizes MapReduce programming model. Hadoop makes utilization of diverse schedulers for executing the occupations in parallel. The default scheduler is FIFO (First In First Out) Scheduler. Different schedulers with need, pre-emption and non-pre-emption alternatives have likewise been produced. As the time has passed the MapReduce has come to few of its restrictions. So keeping in mind the end goal to beat the constraints of MapReduce, the up and coming era of MapReduce has been produced called as YARN (Yet Another Resource Negotiator). Along these lines, this paper gives a review on Hadoop, few booking strategies it uses and a brief prologue to YARN. Keywords: Big-Data, Hive, Map Reduc

The System of Economic-Statistical Indicators of the Analysis of Foreign Economic Relations of the Country: A Case Study on Syria

In modern conditions of globalization, the quality of static data of foreign economic relations of the country plays an important role in decision-making about the foreign economic sphere of the country. This is without their quality leading to wrong static analysis of the indicators of foreign economic relations and methods of evaluation. As a result, it is impossible for correct decision not to be made by the government. Also, there are questions about what are the important priorities in the development of foreign economic relations of the country. According to the analysis of static indicators of foreign economic relations of Syria before and during the crisis, we noted that there was a deterioration of all indicators of foreign economic relations due to armed conflict. This includes the increase in the external debt 2.75 times in 2014 compared with the period before the crisis, the decline in exports and imports, and the improvement of egovernment. In addition, work without high-quality cannot control foreign trade transactions

Peroxisome Proliferator-Activated Receptor Agonists: Do They Increase Cardiovascular Risk?

    Get PDF
Cardiovascular disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality among people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) agonists have a significant role on glucose and fat metabolism. Thiazolidinediones (TZDs) are predominantly PPARγ agonists, and their primary benefit appears to be the prevention of diabetic complications by improving glycemic control and lipid profile. Recently, the cardiovascular safety of rosiglitazone was brought to center stage following meta analyses and the interim analysis of the RECORD trial. Current evidence points to rosiglitazone having a greater risk of myocardial ischemic events than placebo, metformin, or sulfonylureas. This review article discusses the mechanism of action of PPAR agonists and correlates it with clinical and laboratory outcomes in the published literature. In addition, this review article attempts to discuss some of the molecular mechanisms regarding the association between TZDs therapy and the nontraditional cardiovascular risks

This thesis fills the gap in the TQM and public service management literature by providing a more sophisticated understanding of the relationship between TQM, employee satisfaction and service quality within the context of Jordanian public sector organisations. The primary data for this research relied on two sources, survey and semi-structured interviews. These were conducted as part of fieldwork within the public sector of Jordan. The study was based on two samples to achieve the research objectives. Firstly, 420 employees working on the frontline in public service organisations in Jordan were surveyed to diagnose TQM and employee satisfaction issues. 821 customers were surveyed to explore service quality issues. For further clarification and explanation on TQM and employee satisfaction 30 employees were interviewed in parallel to the survey field work. 30 customers were interviewed to explore service quality issues. Qualitative data such as “Excellence” reports were used to support, validate and explain elements of the research model. Findings from Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) reveal the direct impact of TQM on ES, whereas TQM was found to have an indirect impact on service quality (mediated by employee satisfaction). At the same time, employees’ satisfaction has a direct impact on dimensions of service quality, namely reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy. The variance of service empathy can be highly predicted by employee satisfaction levels (71%).Interestingly, the outcomes of this research revealed that service employees in the public sector play four roles: enabler, mediator, complementary and collaborator
