An Analysis of Desirable Attributes for Strength and Conditioning Coaches as Perceived by Male and Female Population of Collegiate Athletes
The present study aimed to suggest desirable attributes and characteristics for strength and conditioning coaches as perceived by the male and female population of collegiate athletes and statistically evaluate differences of perception between genders. Participants were 99 NCAA division I student-athletes (Male=56, Female=43) aged between 18-22 years of age, with a mean of 2.98 S&C sessions per week. Participants completed an electronic questionnaire to rank the importance of 17 research-based attributes through a 5-point Likert-type-scale. Descriptive statistics revealed that overall, “knowledgeable” and “communicative” were considered the most important attributes, whereas “overall size/muscularity” and “male gender” were the least desirable. With regards to perceived importance, attributes were ranked in the following order: knowledgeable, communicative, motivator, trustworthy, give positive feedback, approachable, organised, supportive, positive, honest, confident, role model, intense, physical fitness, sense of humour, overall size/muscularity, male gender. “Male gender” as an attribute was identified as the only significant difference in perception between genders (p = .017). The observed results are consistent with previous research that highlighted how several attributes and characteristics are important for strength and conditioning coaches. Thus, these results might foster reflection and guide personal and professional development of strength and conditioning coaches

Nernst Effect and Anomalous Transport in Cuprates: A Preformed-Pair Alternative to the Vortex Scenario
We address those puzzling experiments in underdoped high
superconductors which have been associated with normal state "vortices" and
show these data can be understood as deriving from preformed pairs with onset
temperature . For uncorrelated bosons in small magnetic fields, and
arbitrary , we present the exact contribution to \textit{all}
transport coefficients. In the overdoped regime our results reduce to those of

This paper presents a new paradigm for computation: software configurable hardware, in which the function implemented is dependent on a control store. This structure is composed of several programmable logic cells capable of implementing one of a set of logic level functions, and a programmable routing area which allows inter-cell communication. Growth Performance, Carcass and Meat Traits of Autochthonous Arouquesa Weaners Raised on Traditional and Improved Feeding Systems
Arouquesa is an autochthonous bovine breed known for its Arouquesa PDO beef labeling.
There are several production systems under the definition of PDO labeling. This study aimed to
compare the effect of different production systems on carcass and meat traits for the Arouquesa breed.
Two trials differing in diet and weaning age were conducted. The first trial included a TF group
fed the traditional way and weaned at 9 months; a TF + S1 group, equal to TF, but with a starter
supplement; and finally, a S1 + S2 group that was fed with a starter and a growth supplement and
weaned at 5 months. The second trial was composed of a TF + S3 group fed like the TF + S1 group
but reared until 12 months with a finishing supplement, and finally, the S3 group fed like the S1 + S2
group but reared until 12 months. In the first trial, the TF + S1 and S1 + S2 groups showed higher final
live weight and average daily gain. In the second trial, we observed differences in the subcutaneous
fat that was higher in the S3 group. Regarding meat traits, we observed differences in exudative
and cooking losses in the first trial. In general, supplementation improved meat production without

The in-plane paraconductivity in La_{2-x}Sr_xCuO_4 thin film superconductors at high reduced-temperatures: Independence of the normal-state pseudogap
The in-plane resistivity has been measured in (LSxCO)
superconducting thin films of underdoped (), optimally-doped
() and overdoped () compositions. These films were grown
on (100)SrTiO substrates, and have about 150 nm thickness. The in-plane
conductivity induced by superconducting fluctuations above the superconducting
transition (the so-called in-plane paraconductivity, ) was
extracted from these data in the reduced-temperature range
10^{-2}\lsim\epsilon\equiv\ln(T/\Tc)\lsim1. Such a
was then analyzed in terms of the
mean-field--like Gaussian-Ginzburg-Landau (GGL) approach extended to the
high- region by means of the introduction of a total-energy cutoff,
which takes into account both the kinetic energy and the quantum localization
energy of each fluctuating mode. Our results strongly suggest that at all
temperatures above Tc, including the high reduced-temperature region, the
doping mainly affects in LSxCO thin films the normal-state properties and that
its influence on the superconducting fluctuations is relatively moderate: Even
in the high- region, the in-plane paraconductivity is found to be
independent of the opening of a pseudogap in the normal state of the underdoped

Genomic epidemiology and population structure of Neisseria gonorrhoeae from remote highly endemic Western Australian populations
Background: Neisseria gonorrhoeae causes gonorrhoea, the second most commonly notified sexually transmitted infection in Australia. One of the highest notification rates of gonorrhoea is found in the remote regions of Western Australia (WA). Unlike isolates from the major Australian population centres, the remote community isolates have low rates of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Population structure and whole-genome comparison of 59 isolates from the Western Australian N. gonorrhoeae collection were used to investigate relatedness of isolates cultured in the metropolitan and remote areas. Core genome phylogeny, multilocus sequencing typing (MLST), N. gonorrhoeae multi-antigen sequence typing (NG-MAST) and N. gonorrhoeae sequence typing for antimicrobial resistance (NG-STAR) in addition to hierarchical clustering of sequences were used to characterize the isolates. Results: Population structure analysis of the 59 isolates together with 72 isolates from an international collection, revealed six population groups suggesting that N. gonorrhoeae is a weakly clonal species. Two distinct population groups, Aus1 and Aus2, represented 63% of WA isolates and were mostly composed of the remote community isolates that carried no chromosomal AMR genotypes. In contrast, the Western Australian metropolitan isolates were frequently multi-drug resistant and belonged to population groups found in the international database, suggesting international transmission of the isolates. Conclusions: Our study suggests that the population structure of N. gonorrhoeae is distinct between the communities in remote and metropolitan WA. Given the high rate of AMR in metropolitan regions, ongoing surveillance is essential to ensure the enduring efficacy of the empiric gonorrhoea treatment in remote WA
Evaluation of Jackknife and Bootstrap for Defining Confidence Intervals for Pairwise Agreement Measures
Several research fields frequently deal with the analysis of diverse classification results of the same entities. This should imply an objective detection of overlaps and divergences between the formed clusters. The congruence between classifications can be quantified by clustering agreement measures, including pairwise agreement measures. Several measures have been proposed and the importance of obtaining confidence intervals for the point estimate in the comparison of these measures has been highlighted. A broad range of methods can be used for the estimation of confidence intervals. However, evidence is lacking about what are the appropriate methods for the calculation of confidence intervals for most clustering agreement measures. Here we evaluate the resampling techniques of bootstrap and jackknife for the calculation of the confidence intervals for clustering agreement measures. Contrary to what has been shown for some statistics, simulations showed that the jackknife performs better than the bootstrap at accurately estimating confidence intervals for pairwise agreement measures, especially when the agreement between partitions is low. The coverage of the jackknife confidence interval is robust to changes in cluster number and cluster size distribution
Brachiaria and Panicum maximum in an integrated crop?livestock system and a second-crop maize system in succession with soybean.
Owing to its contribution to the maintenance of carbon stocks, soil nitrogen and nutrient cycling for subsequent crops, the integrated systems become increasingly important for agricultural conservation. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the biomass production of and total nutrient in Brachiaria spp. and Panicum maximum forage grasses used as mulch and soybean yields in an integrated crop?livestock system and second-crop maize succession system. The treatments consisted of the following cropping systems: Xaraes palisadegrass intercropped with soybean, Congo grass intercropped with soybean, Mombaça guinea grass intercropped with soybean, Tamani guinea grass intercropped with soybean and a soybean/ maize succession system. The forage grasses were established during the soybean R6?R7 stage. Compared with Congo grass, Xaraes palisadegrass, Mombaça guinea grass and Tamani guinea grass produced more biomass and equivalent amounts of fertilizer returned to the soil and resulted in greater nutrient cycling, indicating the benefits of these grasses for use as mulch in integrated production systems. Maize had a greater C/N ratio, but the forage grasses also exhibited high potential by protecting the soil until the end of the soybean development cycle. The use of an integrated crop?livestock system combined with a forage cropping system provided greater soil nutrient cycling than the maize cropping system did, which resulted in increased soybean yields, thus contributing to the sustainability of agricultural systems
Servicio de Control Microbiológico (SCM), como Estrategia Didáctica para el laboratorio de Tecnología de Alimentos [Microbiological Control Service, as Didactic Strategy for Food Technology Lab]
Servicio de Control Microbiológico (SCM) es una Estrategia Didáctica dirigida a alumnos de Laboratorios de: Tecnología de Alimentos (LABTEC) y Microbiología de Alimentos (LMA), en la Facultad de Química (FQ) de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Se basa en el desempeño de roles profesionales, donde alumnos de LABTEC que elaboran alimentos actúan como productores que requieren análisis microbiológicos; los alumnos de LMA actúan como proveedores del servicio de control microbiológico. Se elaboran solicitudes y reportes formales, basados en normas de referencia, para que se pueda concluir sobre la calidad higiénica del alimento. La estrategia ha permitido a los participantes, una experiencia muy cercana al ejercicio profesional, para evaluar buenas prácticas de manufactura, trabajo individual y en equipo. Todos desarrollaron habilidades de comunicación profesional, solución de problemas y conciencia sobre la importancia de la calidad higiénica de los alimentos. El control microbiológico en LABTEC se ha realizado sin recursos adicionales, pues se aplican aquellos destinados a las prácticas de LMA. Además de la experiencia de aprendizaje, se está generando mejora continua en ambas asignaturas.
[Microbiological control service (SCM) as a didactic strategy is aimed to those students in laboratories of food technology (LABTEC) and food microbiology (LMA), at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México’s School of Chemistry (FQ). It is based in professional role playing; LABTEC students elaborate the products and act as food producers in need of microbiological analysis; LMA students perform as service providers, for microbiological control. They elaborate formal requests and microbiological analysis report, based on mandatory standards, which can lead to conclusions about product’s hygienic quality. The strategy has given students an experience close to professional practice, to evaluate good manufacturing practices, individual and team work. All developed professional communication skills, problems identification and proposals for solving them, as well as consciousness about the importance of hygienic quality of food. The microbiological control in LABTEC has been carried out without the need for additional resources, since those intended for LMA practices are applied to these real samples. The experience is generating continuous improvement in both courses.
