    FLOUTING MAXIM ON ENGLISH RADIO PROGRAM IN YOGYAKARTA

    As an event that is on the rise lately, English radio talk show in Yogyakarta provides various interesting topics with various invited guest from different background which create rich conversations among the radio announcer and the guest. When the interlocutor commits a flouting maxim, the radio broadcasting context plays an important role in interpreting the meaning of the speech. Hence, the purpose of this study is to determine the types of flouting maxim and the reason why it is flouted. This research was designed as descriptive qualitative research methods. Sources of data in this study were conversations between radio announcers and guests who have the flouting maxim utterance in English radio broadcasting program. The finding shows 10 flouting maxim data in English radio talk shows in Yogyakarta. There were 40% flouting of the maxim of quantity, 30% of the flouting of the maxim of quality, 20% of the flouting of the maxim of relevance and 10% of the flouting of the maxims of implementation. The announcer and guest in the English radio broadcasting in Yogyakarta flout the maxims deliberately due to several factors such as providing detailed information, convincing, making humble attitude, saving face and creating a relaxed situation with a joke or indirect message

    Labour is one of the most important things in measuring the competitiveness of a country. Indonesia's workforce is ranked 51 out of 63 studied by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in the World Talent Ranking in 2022. This can be seen based on statistical data on the level of labour productivity released in 2022 by the ILOSTAT (International Labor Organization) agency that Indonesia is still in 107th place out of 185 countries at US $ 13.1 per hour. This study was conducted to examine the effect of work discipline and work motivation on employee productivity with work competence as mediation in Food and Beverage MSMEs in Batam. The research method used is a quantitative approach. The research collected respondents using a questionnaire method through gform for 400 samples. The data were analyzed using SPSS to analyze descriptive data and Smart PLS to test research hypotheses. The results showed that the variables of work discipline and work motivation directly affect employee productivity and indirectly affect through work competency

This research aims to analyse the impact of organizational citizenship behavior, counterproductive work behavior, with employee engagement as variable intervening through the impact of employee performance in Bank Perkreditan Rakyat in Batam. The difference in behaviour of each employee is a determinant of their performance in the company.     FACTORS THAT EFFECT TURNOVER INTENTION WITH JOB SATISFACTION AS AN INTERVENING VARIABLE AT FOOD AND BEVERAGES DISTRIBUTION COMPANIES IN BATAM

    Nowadays workplace filled with Gen X and Y employee, it is stated that by 2025, the employment field will be filled by millennials. Human resources are an asset to a company, turnover intention emerge a big problem for company every year. This research will be aim to determine and analyze factors that affect turnover intention with job satisfaction as intervening variable. Questionnaires was distributed to 360 employee that work in food and beverages distribution companies in Batam. However, there is only 280 data that can be analyze due to incompleteness and some questionnaire that didn’t return. The data is examined with SPSS to analyze the descriptive data and Smart PLS program to examine the relationship between independent to dependent variables while intervening through an intervening variable. The result of this study shown that there is a direct effect from salary, transformational leadership and job satisfaction toward turnover intentions. It also shows that there is an indirect effect from salary and transformational leadership towards turnover intention while it is mediating through job satisfaction. In other hand, it was found that work stress, emotional intelligence is not significant in giving effect towards turnover intention with or without the intervening from job satisfaction. &nbsp

Recording time required in HDD application load on Windows operating system with Prefetch Files, in a WMPLAYER.EXE application with 61,800 milliseconds, WORDPAD.EXE record time of 77,367 milliseconds, and CHROME.EXE with the record time of 904,400 milliseconds. Pada Using Prefetch Files then the load time of the HDD app will be faster than without using Prefetch Files or by removing Prefetch Files

    Fillers are words or sentences used in speech in order to connect concepts or link ideas during pauses in speech. This research examined the types and functions of fillers used by speakers on DIVE Studio podcast. This study aims to determine the types and functions of fillers used by speakers in the Dive Studios podcast. Furthermore, conversation analysis is used in this study to gather data. This research also uses a qualitative approach to describe the data. The study's findings revealed 479 fillers, divided into lexicalized and unlexicalized filled pauses. On the other hand, the researchers concluded that fillers have several functions related to the speaker's state. Five functions represent this research: hesitating, empathizing, mitigating, time-creating devices, and editing terms. Additionally, knowing the many kinds and purposes of fillers may assist speakers in being mindful of their speaking abilities.

    EXAMINING FACTORS AFFECTING EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE IN BATAM CITY SHOPPING MALLS

    Globalisation has broadened market prospects for Indonesian industries and concurrently expanded employment opportunities for its citizens. A critical determinant of company improvement is employee performance. This study is centred on identifying factors that influence employee performance, specifically focusing on the mediating role of job satisfaction. The target demographic for this research comprised employees working in shopping malls in Batam City, encompassing 379 respondents who were reached through questionnaire distribution. The methodology involved a descriptive statistical approach and the application of Partial Least Squares (PLS) for data analysis. The findings of the study highlight that organisational commitment, employee communication, and internal branding significantly and positively influence employee performance, with job satisfaction acting as a mediator. This suggests that these factors when harmonised with enhanced job satisfaction, contribute substantially to improved employee performance. This research offers valuable insights for businesses, especially within the retail sector, seeking to enhance employee productivity and overall organisational effectiveness.      ABSTRAK Globalisasi telah membuka peluang pasar yang lebih luas bagi industri Indonesia dan juga menciptakan lapangan kerja yang luas bagi warga Indonesia. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi peningkatan dalam suatu perusahaan adalah kinerja para karyawan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kinerja karyawan yang dimediasikan oleh job satisfaction. Penelitian ini menargetkan karyawan yang bekerja di shopping mall di Kota Batam dengan melibatkan 379 responden, yang didapatkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Analisis yang dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan statistik deskriptif dan Partial Least Squares (PLS) setelah datanya terkumpul. Hasil penelitian ini mendapatkan hasil bahwa organizational commitment, employee communication, dan internal branding memiliki pengaruh signifikan positif terhadap employee performance yang dimediasikan oleh job satisfaction.     The Effect of Job Satisfaction and Compensation on Employee Performance with Work Motivation as Mediation in 4-Star Hotels Batam City

    This research investigates the impact of job satisfaction and compensation on employee performance in a 4-star hotel in Batam City, utilizing work motivation as a mediator. Job satisfaction and compensation are recognized as crucial factors influencing both work motivation and employee performance. The administration of a questionnaire to 380 hotel employees in Batam City yielded positive and significant correlations between job satisfaction, compensation, work motivation, and employee performance, as revealed by PLS analysis. Work motivation emerges as a significant mediator in the relationships between job satisfaction and employee performance, as well as between compensation and employee performance.     This study is aimed to analyze the influence of management commitment, leadership, employee involvement and training to safety performance. The samples were used by this study the employees who work in the manufacturing industry of Batam island. The method of data collection is conducted using questionnaire which distributed by google form to the companies. The sampling technique was used in this study is based on sampling of purposive. The amount of respondent is 138 questionnaires which distributed to three electronics manufacturing companies in the Muka Kuning of Batam island.               The study shows that employee involvement and training considered siginificant a positive affect to the safety performance. But management commitment and leadership variables are not giving a significant effect to the safety performance
