SoggettivitĂ e natura. Tre forme del sublime romantico
This article outlines three different forms of the natural sublime as presented in three converging texts of the Romantic period: Coleridge’s Hymn before Sunrise in the Vale of Chamouni, Shelley’s Mont Blanc, and Wordsworth’s lines on the Simplon Pass in Book 6 of The Prelude. The three versions stress the experience of the sublime as an encounter between nature and the subject, but whereas in Coleridge’s hymn the vision of the “great mountain” is the occasion for the poet’s voice to celebrate nature as the symbol of Divinity, in Shelley’s poem nature appears divested of all religious connotation and the stance of he poet is ambiguous because, on one hand, he presents himself as the “interpreter” of nature’s “mysterious tongue” but, on the other, it is his voice that gives nature a language making sense of her “silence”. As for Wordsworth, this article departs from received critical opinion contending that the description of the Gondo Gorges does not represent the true Wordsworthian sublime – which is not a visionary experience but the feeling of a “deep interfusion” between nature and the subject – and should therefore be contrasted with Lines Composed a Few Miles above Tintern Abbey.
Mestrado em Engenharia AgronĂłmica - Instituto Superior de AgronomiaThe aim of this work was to compare the parameters concerning the exchange complex
(cation exchange capacity - CEC - exchangeable bases calculations) with the Mehlich and
Ammonium Acetate Methods, of soils of the Republic of Angola, to update their taxonomy.
Seventy two profiles of several soil types were analysed, namely: Tipoferralic Soils,
Weakly Ferralic Soils, Tipoparaferralic Soils, Psamoferralic Sandy Soils, Fersialic Soils,
Eutroparaferralic Soils, Psamorregosolos e Oxipsamic Soils. After the data organization, the
correlations between the values of the obtained parameters with the two methods were
performed, using the software Office Excel. Three types of analysis have been performed:
all the samples together, samples divided according to their depth and samples divided
according to the soil type.
The correlations of the values obtained by the two methods were stong, with very high r
and R² values. Generally, the stronger correlations were in the cases of SB and
exchangeable Ca and Mg, followed by CEC; the percent base saturation and exchangeable
K presented weeker and variable correlations, according to the type of soil. The results
suggest that values of parameters of the Solos FerralĂticos exchange complex by the
Mehlich method are compatible, for taxonomic purposes, with those obtained by the
A análise
Quality assurance for CMS Tracker LV and HV Power Supplies
This work describes the quality assurance measurements that have been carried out on about 2000 Power Supply Units produced in CAEN technology for the CMS Silicon Tracker Detector. The automate procedure and the characteristics of the dedicated Test Fixture developed for this activity are described in details. Magnetic field tolerance and radiation hardness of Tracker power supply units is also discussed at length
