Begriffsgeschichtliche Überlegungen zu "Gerechtigkeit" in Sophokles

Die beiden untersuchten Texte, Sophokles' Antigone und Gorgias von Platon, wurden in dieser Arbeit als Momentaufnahmen für verschiedene Formen, Gerechtigkeit im 5. und 4. Jahrhundert v. u. Z. zu denken, interpretiert, um so einen möglichst authentischen Eindruck von Gerechtigkeit zu jener Zeit zu erhalten. Die Methode der Begriffsgeschichte hatte vorgegeben, dass beide Texte zunächst unabhängig von einander untersucht und die Ergebnisse anschließend zusammengeführt werden sollten. In der Analyse fächerten die Quellen zunächst jeweils in sich ein breites Spektrum unterschiedlicher Auffassungen von Gerechtigkeit auf, die Verbindung beider Betrachtungen machte darüber hinaus Strukturen von Ähnlichkeit und Differenz sichtbar. Daraus ergab sich ein Schema, das die sehr unterschiedlichen Aspekte als verschiedene Eckpunkte eines Prozesses verstehbar machte, der vor dem Hintergrund des in der Einleitung gegebenen historischen Kontextes interpretiert werden konnte. In der Einführung wurde bald deutlich, dass die verschiedenen Vorstellungen von Gerechtigkeit immer auch die Themenkomplexe von Ethik und Moral, von Wahrheit und Wirklichkeit mit einschließen mussten. Mit Victor Ehrenberg ließ sich die Überlegung zu Gerechtigkeit in dem größeren Kontext des Bedeutungswandels von Themis über Dike zu Nomos verstehen. Diese erste Begriffsgeschichte des Konzepts „Gerechtigkeit“ bereitete die Analyse von Gerechtigkeit in den Quellen vor. Das Untersuchungsfeld konnte damit für den Zeitraum der Quellen auf den Begriff des „Nomos“ eingrenzt werden. Dass das besondere Spannungsverhältnis von Nomos und Physis bis in die unterschiedlichen in den Quellen vertretenen Positionen der Gerechtigkeit hineinwirken musste, zeigte sich dann später in der Quellenanalyse. ..

Data Literacy for Libraries – A Local Perspective on Library Carpentry

In the past decades, libraries have developed into sophisticated information centres. This evolution requires a new set of computational expertises and competencies but also a change in the general attitude toward continuous learning. “Library Carpentry”, as a lesson programm of the “The Carpentries” community offers an elaborate and evidence-based collection of approaches for efficient teaching of the required computational skills and concepts. This article introduces Library Carpentry and presents how it is applied at ZB MED - Information Centre for Life Sciences as a foundation for teaching digital literacy.In den letzten Jahrzehnten haben sich Bibliotheken in anspruchsvolle Informationseinrichtungen entwickelt. Diese Entwicklung erfordert IT-Kenntnisse und ebenso eine Bereitschaft zu kontinuierlichem Lernen. “Library Carpentry”, ein Trainingsprogramm aus dem Angebot der Non-Profit-Organisation. “The Carpentries”, bietet eine evidenzbasierte Zusammenstellung von Methoden für die effiziente Vermittlung der erforderlichen Programmierfähigkeiten und dahinterliegender Konzepte. Der Artikel führt in Ideen von “Library Carpentry” ein und zeigt wie diese von ZB MED - Informationszentrum Lebenswissenschaften in Köln umgesetzt werden, um das Unterrichten digitaler Kompetenzen in Bibliotheken voranzutreiben.Peer Reviewe

Qualified support through data stewardship: Institutional requirements driven approach through data steward profiles

<p>Qualified support through data stewardship - a new approach to data steward profiles from Germany</p><p>The concept of data stewardship as a support for researchers, but also as a field of research itself, is becoming increasingly important due to the overall growth in digital data volumes. Qualified employees are needed in (inter-)national data-infrastructure initiatives such as the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) as well as the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) in the German context as a national example. Also the requirements of research funders often prescribe professional data management. The demand for qualified personnel is high and will probably continue to grow.</p><p>Although the term "data steward" is frequently and widely used, the tasks, roles or institutional embedding of data stewards remain ambiguous and are still not clearly defined.  In other European countries, studies e.g. in the Netherlands and Denmark have already identified somewhat congruent profiles of data stewards.  </p><p>The poster presents results from a research project dealing with the German academic landscape with regard to Data Stewardship. On the one hand, the situation and needs analysis was carried out based on the relevant literature and job advertisements as well as qualitative interviews. Furthermore, the poster shows the results of focus group discussions held with different stakeholders to derive recommendations for action.</p><p>The central finding the poster presents is that there is no universal way to implement data stewardship. Instead, the implementation of data stewardship is highly depending on the local conditions. The poster proposes a change of perspective, describing different models of data stewardship based on the capacities and needs of the institution. Specific teams of data stewards can be assembled in a modular system. Five data steward profiles are available for building data steward teams, based on six dimensions: (i) the size of the research institution, (ii) the institutional location, (iii) basic knowledge of research data management, (iv) the need for specialised knowledge, (v) the breadth of the range of tasks, and (vi) the need for  service orientation as opposed to scientific, research activities.  </p><p>Based on different combinations of these criteria five profiles of data stewards are described, such as the data steward as a generalist at a service point in a small research institute with a broad range of tasks. As a counterpart to this, the scientific working data steward in a collaborative project with specific expertise who works closely with the researchers on a research question has emerged.</p><p>Besides the proposal of a modular system of data steward profiles the poster claims a need for further research on the quantitative demand for the specific profiles. Based on this, suitable training capacities can be build aligned with the specific demand for data management experts.</p><p> </p&gt

Forschung unterstützen: Empfehlungen für Data Stewardship an akademischen Forschungsinstitutionen. Ergebnisse des Projektes DataStew (Stand: 2. Februar 2023)

Im Sinne von Open Science sollen Forschungsdaten an Hochschulen und Forschungseinrichtungen nachvollziehbar und nachnutzbar abgelegt werden. In den letzten Jahren hat sich für diese Aufgaben ein neues Berufsfeld etabliert, das häufig Data Stewardship genannt wird. Was genau jedoch die Aufgaben und Kompetenzen von Data Stewards sind und wie sich das Data Stewardship an den jeweiligen Einrichtungen idealerweise umsetzen lässt, ist nicht geklärt. Der vorliegende Bericht dokumentiert die Untersuchung des Verbundprojekts „DataStew“ von Universitäts- und Stadtbibliothek Köln und ZB MED–Informationszentrum Lebenswissenschaften. In diesem Projekt wurde die derzeitige akademische Forschungslandschaft mit ihren unterschiedlichen Stakeholdern zum Konzept Data Stewardship untersucht. Das Vorhaben umfasst sowohl die Auswertung des vorliegenden Wissensstandes anhand von Literatur zum Thema und die Analyse von realen Stellenausschreibungen als auch qualitative Interviews sowie Gruppendiskussionen mit Expert:innen. Die Ergebnisse der Analysen, Interviews und Gespräche stellen die Grundlage der in diesem Bericht vorgestellten Handlungsempfehlungen dar

Die Druckfassung enthält zwei zusätzliche Aufsätze, die in der Online-Fassung aus urheberrechtlichen Gründen nicht enthalten sind.Das Subjekt ist einer der zentralen Begriffe der Philosophie und Geisteswissenschaften überhaupt, gleichzeitig jedoch auch einer, der besonders schwierig zu fassen ist. Nicht nur lassen sich philosophiehistorisch stark variierende Bedeutungen desselben ausmachen, darüber hinaus stellt es eine besondere Herausforderung dar, das Subjekt ins Verhältnis zu anderen zentralen Begriffen der Philosophie zu setzen, wie etwa Person, Selbst, Ich, Substanz, Gehirn und Individuum. Die weit verbreitete Unklarheit über diesen Begriff und seine doch nicht zu leugnende Relevanz gaben uns Anlass zu diesem Projekt - die ihm inne liegenden Spannungsverhältnisse den Ausgangspunkt.Subject is one of the most central concepts in contemporary philosophy and the humanities, though at the same time one which is especially hard to grasp. Not only does the meaning of this concept vary throughout history, furthermore it poses a great challenge to determine its relation to concepts such as mind, the self and the individual. The ambiguity of this concept, its inherent relationship of tension as well as its undeniable relevance, gave us occasion for this project
