Efficacy of trabectedin in metastatic solitary fibrous tumor

Solitary fibrous tumor is a rare tumor type and has an unpredictable course. Local recurrence rate varies between 9 and 19%, and rate of metastatic involvement between 0 and 36 %. It is characterized by a typical architecture and immuno-histochemistry tests. The most important prognostic factor is the complete resection of primary tumor. Treatment of recurrences is not clearly established. If a solitary fibrous tumor is too advanced to allow surgical resection, radiotherapy and chemotherapy may be used. The most often used drugs are doxorubicine and\or ifosfamide. We report the case of man with metastatic solitary fibrous tumor treated with trabectedin, administered at a dose of 1.5 mg/m² every 3 weeks. After 3 cycles, metastases had significantly decreased. Recurrence of the disease was demonstrated 8 months after the start of trabectedin. This case shows that trabectedin is a possible treatment option

La traducción de las canciones de Virginia Rodrigo al francés comporta, como casi todas las traducciones de obras de la cultura popular contemporánea, ricas en semánticas específicas, lenguaje común coloquial, frases hechas y giros idiomáticos, comportó ciertas dificultades que fueron solucionadas por estudiantes de máster y doctorado francófonas con conocimientos avanzados de francés. Aún así, ciertas expresiones "intraducibles", hubieron de ser explicadas de forma concreta y paratextual. Dada la amplia casuística generada a lo largo del proceso de traducción, inferimos que estos textos pueden servir como ejemplo para la praxis del estudio del español en general y de la traductología en particular, por lo que creemos puede ser de interés ponerlos a disposición de estudiantes, profesores y del público en general.El presente cuadernillo es el resultado de la idea de traducir las letras de las canciones de Virginia Rodrigo al francés, con motivo del evento de dos jornadas (Concierto —día 6 de diciembre 2021— y Conferencia musicalizada —7 de diciembre 2021—) del Seminario 'Humor y Feminismo(s)' del subequipo CHISPA del equipo AMERIBER, organizado por Deborah González Jurado en la Universidad Bordeaux-Montaigne. Al tratarse de un evento abierto a toda la comunidad universitaria, y no solo a los/las estudiantes de las licenciaturas de español, se decidió aportar al público este cuadernillo para ayudar a los no hispanoparlantes en la comprensión del humor feminista español, más un power point que se proyectó en directo en la sala donde se celebró el concierto. Todas las canciones forman parte del repertorio de Virginia Rodrigo, y en su mayoría pertenecen al disco "La Intrusa", aunque algunas podemos encontrarlas en otros de sus álbumes publicados. Casi todas son accesibles para su escucha desde la plataforma Youtube en abierto

Obesity and Metabolic Dysregulation in Children Provide Protective Influenza Vaccine Responses

The most effective intervention for influenza prevention is vaccination. However, there are conflicting data on influenza vaccine antibody responses in obese children. Cardio-metabolic parameters such as waist circumference, cholesterol, insulin sensitivity, and blood pressure are used to subdivide individuals with overweight or obese BMI into ‘healthy’ (MHOO) or ‘unhealthy’ (MUOO) metabolic phenotypes. The ever-evolving metabolic phenotypes in children may be elucidated by using vaccine stimulation to characterize cytokine responses. We conducted a prospective cohort study evaluating influenza vaccine responses in children. Participants were identified as either normal-weight children (NWC) or overweight/obese using BMI. Children with obesity were then characterized using metabolic health metrics. These metrics consisted of changes in serum cytokine and chemokine concentrations measured via multiplex assay at baseline and repeated at one month following vaccination. Changes in NWC, MHOO and MUOO were compared using Chi-square/Fisher’s exact test for antibody responses and Kruskal–Wallis test for cytokines. Differences in influenza antibody responses in normal, MHOO and MUOO children were statistically indistinguishable. IL-13 was decreased in MUOO children compared to NWC and MHOO children (p = 0.04). IL-10 approached a statistically significant decrease in MUOO compared to MHOO and NWC (p = 0.07). Influenza vaccination does not provoke different responses in NCW, MHOO, or MUOO children, suggesting that obesity, whether metabolically healthy or unhealthy, does not alter the efficacy of vaccination. IL-13 levels in MUO children were significantly different from levels in normal and MHOO children, indicating that the metabolically unhealthy phenotypes may be associated with an altered inflammatory response. A larger sample size with greater numbers of metabolically unhealthy children may lend more insight into the relationship of chronic inflammation secondary to obesity with vaccine immunity

The combination of hypomethylating agents and histone deacetylase inhibitors produce marked synergy in preclinical models of T-cell lymphoma

T-cell lymphomas (TCL) are aggressive lymphomas usually treated with CHOP (cyclophsophamide, doxorubicin, vincristine, prednisolone)-like regimens upfront. Recent data suggest that TCL are driven by epigenetic defects, potentially rendering them sensitive to epigenetic therapies. We explored the therapeutic merits of a combined epigenetic platform using histone deacetylase inhibitors (HDACIs) and DNA methyltransferase inhibitors (DNMT) in in\ua0vitro and in\ua0vivo models of TCL. The 50% inhibitory concentration (IC50 ) values revealed romidepsin was the most potent HDACI, with an IC50 in the low nanomolar range. The combination with a hypomethylating agent produced synergy across all cell lines, which was confirmed in cytotoxicity and apoptosis assays. An in\ua0vivo xenograft study demonstrated inhibition of tumour growth in the combination cohort compared to the single agent. Gene expression array and global methylation profiling revealed differentially expressed genes and modulated pathways for each of the single treatment conditions and the combination. Most of the effects induced by the single agent treatment were maintained in the combination group. In total, 944 unique genes were modulated by the combination treatment, supporting the hypothesis of molecular synergism. These data suggest combinations of hypomethylating agents and HDACIs are synergistic in models of TCL, which is supported at the molecular level

Jean Tardieu. Des livres et des voix

Le deuxième livre de Jean Tardieu contient le premier, le sixième reprend des poèmes du troisième, le septième inclut le sixième, des textes du quatrième se retrouvent dans le onzième. Il convient de se méfier des sous-titres : « proses » apposé à La part de l'ombre annonce bien ce qu'il contient, mais les « poèmes » de L'accent grave et l'accent aigu peuvent être d'assez longs textes en prose ; à distinguer des « poèmes traduits des arts », textes sur la peinture, eux-mêmes différents des « poèmes à voir », sorte de calligrammes, et des « poèmes à jouer » qui sont des pièces de théâtre. Au reste, les frontières génériques sont perméables. Dans la fabrication de ses livres, Jean Tardieu est inlassablement inventeur de formes nouvelles et mystificateur. Inadvertance ? Malice ? Volonté surtout de ne pas emprisonner dans un provisoire parti pris éditorial la polyphonie d'« une voix sans personne ». Écrites par de nombreux spécialistes de l'œuvre, mais aussi par des hommes et femmes de théâtre, les contributions réunies dans cet ouvrage se proposent d'interroger cette diversité des voix dans les livres de Jean Tardieu. On y trouve des informations, des témoignages, des réflexions, des essais. Il est ainsi, à l'image de l'auteur dont il traite, à plusieurs voix, et offre de multiples chemins dans cet univers foisonnant

Philippe Jaccottet : poésie et altérité

La parution de l'œuvre de Philippe Jaccottet en Pléiade permet de mesurer la dimension de l’altérité dans une poésie dont l’un des traits distinctifs est d’être fondamentalement dialogique. S’il n’y a pas d’expérience poétique sans une tension entre un principe de solitude et un principe d’altérité, l’œuvre de Jaccottet est de celles qui assument cette tension tout en orientant le plus possible la parole vers l’exigence de l’altérité dont Mandelstam a donné la formule : « Pas de lyrisme sans dialogue ». Pour Jaccottet, comme pour plusieurs poètes de sa génération, la poésie est par sortie de soi, par ouverture à l’autre – ou n’est pas. Écrire poétiquement, c’est répondre à l’autre et de l’autre ; il y va de la responsabilité du poète, qui engage aussi la responsabilité du lecteur
