    Retrospective Analysis of Follicular Lymphoma Patients in Trakya University School of Medicine: a Single Center Experience

    DergiPark: 889334tmsjAims: To establish a dataset including demographic features, disease characteristics, and survival rate of follicular lymphoma patients in Trakya Universi- ty School of Medicine and contribute to the database of follicular lymphoma in Turkey. Methods: In this retrospective cross-sectional study, we analyzed data constituting of follicular lymphoma patients over 18 years of age followed during the years of 2015-2020 in Trakya University Division of Hematology. Results: Out of 43 patients, 22 (51.2%) were female and 21 (48.8%) were male. The mean age was 56.56 (standard deviation 13.24) years. There were 5 (11.6%) pa- tients with B symptoms, presence of bone marrow involvement was seen in 17 (39.5%) patients, lastly, there were 18 (41.9%) patients with splenomegaly. Twen- ty-one (48.8%) patients received rituximab, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin hydrochloride, vincristine sulfate, and prednisone, making it the most common treatment protocol administered in our study. Conclusion: Follicular lymphoma patients usually end up getting diagnosed at an advanced stage of the disease, presenting with incidentally noticed painless lymphadenopathy. Additionally, based on evidence in the literature, a clear gap in the successful diagnosis of follic- ular lymphoma patients can be observed between developed and developing countries. To overcome this hurdle, enhanced cooperation with hematopathology may lead to an increased awareness enabling physicians to make a more accurate diagnosis. Nonetheless, further studies are still needed to fully apprehend the epidemiology of follicular lymphoma patients in Turkey

    An inquiry into the voyage of avant-garde within the domains of art and architecture makes it evident that avant-garde is ambiguous in meaning as a word, a term, a phenomenon and a concept. This study aims to decipher avant-garde and to offer a map for its conceptualization in architecture. Taken not as a monolithic statement but as a unitary concept incorporating a number of subjects and formations for granted, in this study, architectural avant-garde is conceptualized as diverse expressions of activated energy of various subjects that reveal completely different attitudes and productions. Unfolding the concept in different dimensions, this study is an endeavor to delve deeper into various layers of theoretical and historical formations; to form a framework for conceptualizing architectural avant-garde through scanning the twentieth-century avant-gardes; to focus on the avant-garde formations of the 1960s by applying this conceptual framework, and the debate on their receptions in the present architectural context of Turkey. Being on the verge of architecture, the avant-gardes during the 1960s, namely Constant Nieuwenhuys, Yona Friedman, Japanese Metabolists, Archigram, Archizoom, and Superstudio, point out that architecture is both an intellectual activity and a physical production. Projections and resonances of these avant-gardes in the Turkish architectural context of the subsequent periods are trail blazed through the expressions of a group of receiving subjects from the Turkish scene of architecture. Hence, this study offers to lay a common ground for debating on the limits of architecture by forming not only the topography of architectural avantgarde in this era, but also a ‘supra-discourse’ on architectural avant-garde.Ph.D. - Doctoral Progra

    Tez (Yüksek Lisans) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2013Thesis (M.Sc.) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 2013Günümüzde enerji kaynaklarının azalması ve bu yüzden yakıt ücretlerinin artması, insanları daha ucuz ve çevre dostu enerji kaynaklarını kullanımına itmiştir. Bunların en çarpıcı örneklerini otomotiv sanayinde görmemiz mümkündür. Son yıllarda büyük otomotiv şirketleri gelen bu büyük tehlikeyi görüp, yapmış oldukları çalışmalar ile petrole olan bağımlılığı ve egzos gazı salınımını azalmak için büyük yol katetmiştir. Fakat literatür araştırması yapıldığında elektrikli traktör uygulamalarının binek araçlar ve ticari araçlardaki uygulamalara oranla çok az olduğu gözlenmiştir. Bu çalışmada içten yanmalı motorlu bir tarım traktörünün elektrikli traktöre dönüştürülmesi için gerekli değişiklikler ve performans analizler sunulmuştur. Referans olarak bir bahçe traktörü seçilmiştir ve bu traktörün motor eğrileri ve belirlenen üç ayrı yol koşuluna göre hesaplanan toplam seyir dirençleri kullanılarak gerekli olan elektrik motoru ve elektrik sistemleri belirlenmiştir. Referans olarak seçilen traktörün toplam kütlesi ve ağırlık merkezi değiştirmeden , traktöre eklenebilecek maksimum batarya kütlesi hesaplanmıştır. Net batarya kütlesine göre birçok batarya seçeneği incelenmiştir ve çalışma süresi hesabı için her 3 yol koşuluna göre sürüş döngüleri belirlenmiştir. Bu sürüş döngülerine göre batarya alternatifleri finansal ve çalışma süresi açısından değerlendirip, en fizible batarya seçimi yapılmıştır.Nowadays, decrease in energy resources and its negative effect on fuel cost make mankind investigate and use less cost effective and green energy sources. Automotive industry has the most effective examples. Recently, the world’s biggest automotive companies have observed that need and have come a long way to reduce the petroleum addiction and the exhaust emissions. However, in literature researches it was observed that very little renewable energy applications had been performed for agricultural tractors compared to passenger car and commercial vehicles. In the thesis, the main idea was to show required changes and performance analysis of electric garden tractor considering the working condition of the garden tractor with an internal combustion engine. A garden tractor has been selected as a reference vehicle. According to reference vehicle engine supply curves and determined 3 different road conditions total road resistance, required electric motor properties has been determined. Maximum battery mass has been calculated without changing current tractor s center of gravity and mass. According to the calculated battery mass, several battery alternatives have been evaluated. In order to make this evaluation, drive cycles have been determined for 3 different driving conditions. Drive cycles for each driving condition are used for electric tractor to find out working time of accumulators and batteries. In line with those examinations,time of three driving conditions; besides,with regard to price of batteries and capable of packing are chosen the most feasible battery option.Yüksek LisansM.Sc
