PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS’ OPINIONS ABOUT EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT IN TERMS OF CONSTRUCTIVIST APPROACH

Constructivist approach includes active learning. In active learning environment, individuals can perform high-level learning by interacting with their environment. To achieve this, physical conditions and equipment need to be sufficient. This study was conducted out of the need to identify teachers’ opinions about learning environment conditions. Qualitative research method was used in this study. Participants of the study consist of 18 teachers who work in 3 primary schools representing higher, middle and lower layers of sociocultural structure in Safranbolu district of Karabük province in Turkey. The data were collected via focus group interview based on the interview form developed by the researcher. Inter-encoder reliability co-efficient of the data, for which content analysis was applied, was found 82%. Findings of the study revealed that physical conditions and equipment of the classrooms in primary schools representing middle and higher layers of sociocultural structure were in better conditions thanks to parents’ contributions while the physical conditions and equipment of the classrooms in primary schools representing lower layers of sociocultural structure were limited, the size of the classrooms was insufficient and not suitable for different seating arrangements. It is suggested that learning environments should be arranged by taking teachers’ and students’ opinions in order to create environments that enable active learning in classrooms.  Article visualizations

Kısa Hikaye Öğretiminin Dil Öğretimine Katkılarının Bir Örnek Çalışma İle İncelenmesi

This study ainıs to discııss how to teach short stories and what their contribution could be to language  classes. Thİs a sample te.xt D. H. La vrence’s short story Odor of Chrysanthemums has been analized in the  light of two theoreticians - Robert Scholes and H. L. B. Moody. It is found that not only in teaching short stories, but also in teaching other genres these reading strategies can be used and contribute to students’  language skills and abilities.Bu çalışmanın amacı, dil eğitimi bölümlerinde kısa hikâye öğretimi ve kısa hikâye öğretiminin dil  eğitimine katkılarını ortaya çıkarmaktır. Çalışmada. D. H. Lawrence’ın “Odor of Chrysanthemums” adlı  kısa hikâyesi, Robert Scholes ve H. L. B. Moody’nin teorileri doğrultusunda incelenmiş ve bu okuma  stratejileri ile sadece kısa hikaye değil, aynı zamanda diğer edebi türlerin de incelenebileceği ve bu okumaların öğrencilerin dillerinin gelişimine katkıda bulunacağı sonucuna varılmıştır

The impacts of firm's corporate social responsibility applications on customer trust, customer loyalty and firm image: An aplication at hotel firms

Bu araştırmada amaç Kuşadası Bölgesi'nde bulunan 4 ve 5 yıldızlı otel işletmelerinde, kurumsal sosyal sorumluluğun müşteri güvenini, müşteri bağlılığını ve firma imajını artırıp artırmadığı ilişkisini ölçmektir. Araştırmada Kuşadası Bölgesi'nde faaliyet gösteren 6 adet 4 ve 5 yıldızlı otel işletmelerinde 271 müşteri üzerinde yüz yüze anket tekniği kullanılarak bulgulara ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları yüzde-frekans, faktör analizi, kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk ile müşteri bağlılığı, müşteri güveni ve firma imajı arasında korelasyon ve regresyon analizlerine tabi tutulmuştur. Müşterilerin algılanan sosyal sorumluluğuna ilişkin faktör analizi sonucunda üç faktör grubu ortaya çıkmıştır. Bunlar; müşteri bağlılığı, müşteri güveni ve firma imajı olarak sıralanmaktadır. Otel işletmelerinin müşteri güveni, müşteri bağlılığı ve firma imajını artırıp artırmadığı ilişkisini ölçmek için kullanılan korelasyon analizi sonucunda anlamlı bir ilişki çıkmıştır. Kurumsal sosyal sorumluluk uygulanması durumunda müşteri bağlılığı, müşteri güveni ve firma imajının arttığı gözlenmektedir.The aim of this study is to evaluate whether corporate social responsibility increase customer trust, customer loyalty and firm image at 4 and 5 stars hotels in Kuşadası Region. A face-to-face survey was conducted on 271 customer at 6 hotels in Kuşadası Region. The results of the study were carried out percentage-frequency, factor analysis, correlation and regression among corporate social responsibility, customer loyalty, customer trust and firm image. As a result af the factor analysis about percieved social responsibilty of customer, three factor groups, which are customer loyalty, customer trust and firm image, have been emerged.There is a meaningful result in consequence of correlation analysis for evaluating whether these hotel firms, increase customer trust, customer loyalty and firm image by applying corporate social responsibility. In case corporate social responsibility is applied, the icrease of customer loyalty, customer trust and firm image has been abserved

The informal sector and tax on employment: A dynamic general equilibrium investigation

This paper elaborates on the evolution of the informal sector vis-a-vis the evolution of agricultural and formal sectors in a developing country economy in process of growth. The analytical contribution of this essay extends the Ramsey theory of growth into a framework that includes an informal sector and household preferences that display Engel effects in agricultural and in informally produced goods. Besides showing that the informal sector's importance diminishes over time as the country's economy grows, the results from the model demonstrate that a country can successfully reduce its informal employment by reducing tax on employment in the formal sector

A MOBILE EXPERT SYSTEM APPLICATION FOR SOLVING PERSONAL COMPUTER PROBLEMSAbstractFor the time being, the smartphone is the most popular device in the world a device that is still in development. Today everyone has a personal smartphone device. The capability of these smartphones is to run a variety of all kinds of applications, make user’s use it most of the time as well as for their daily tasks. The aim of this study is to develop an expert system running on android smartphones in order to solve computer problems. This approach is an accurate method to provide solution to computer problems. Design and implementing this expert system is to detect problem by asking users question and offers solution depending on user’s answer. Bugün herkes kişisel bir akıllı cihaza sahiptir. Bu akıllı telefonların, kullanıcıların zamanlarının büyük bir kısmında hatta gündelik işlerinde kullandıkları çok çeşitli uygulamalar çalıştırma kabiliyetleri vardır. Bu çalışmanın amacı bilgisayar problemlerini çözmek için android akıllı telefon üzerinde çalışan bir uzman sistem geliştirmektir. Bu yaklaşım bilgisayar problemlerine çözüm sağlamak için doğru bir yöntemdir. Bu uzman sistemin tasarım ve gerçekleştirilmesi, kullanıcılara sorular sormak suretiyle problemleri tespit etmek ve kullanıcı kullanıcıların cevaplarına dayalı çözümler sunulması biçimindedir. THE RESEARCH OF THE EFFECT OF THE PILATES SPECIAL MOVEMENT TRAINING PROGRAM WHICH IS APPLIED TO AUTISM SPECTRUM STUDENTS ON STUDENT’S BALANCE AND FLEXIBILITY PROPERTIES

The aim of this research is to investigate the effects of pilates movement training program which ıs applied to autism spectrum children on student’s flexibility and balance development. 26 students (12 male+6 female) participated to this research. The age of the students were formed as group of 6-12 aged, two groups have been created for research. 18 students were determined as experimental (12 male+6 female), 18 students were determined as a second control group (12 male+6 female), while creating group, it is paid attention to not to be similar in student’s age, gender, physical appearance. The research data’s were analysed by SPSS v16 program, the pre-test & post-test comparisons and minimum, maximum, values were tabulated. Even though according to research results there is not seen any development in control group, the significant development is seen in experimental group (p<0,05) and in balance development (p<0,001). As a result, it is observed that the pilates special movement training program which is applied to autism spectrum children’s provides a positive contribution to children’s physical properties, ability of flexibility and balance.  Article visualizations
