Insights into rising environmental concern: prompt corporate social responsibility to mediate green marketing perspective
Green investment is a trending marketing strategy that has been
endorsed as a prominent financial actor due to the growing environmental issues and business sustainability. With the introduction
of green and climate bonds in the last decade, the investment in
eco-friendly projects has been deemed a paradigm shift. China
has been a pioneer in introducing green and climate bonds, setting a precedent for green investment in the global market.
Following the green strategy, therefore, the main aim of this
study is to examine the importance of green investment and
green marketing for enhancing business performance. Besides,
this study has also examined the critical mediating role of CSR. Data
were collected from 619 respondents from Chinese manufacturing
companies via questionnaires. This study employed the structural
equation modeling (SEM) technique to test hypotheses in Smart
PLS software. This study revealed that green marketing strategy and
green investment positively complement the CSR of companies and
their business performance. Moreover, results also showed that CSR
plays a significant mediating rolein enhancing business performance
positively by stimulating the targeted relationships. With the ascendency of being environment friendly, this study will also be a powerful magnet for practitioners and policymakers
Ecological innovation for environmental sustainability and human capital development: the role of environmental regulations and renewable energy in advanced economies
This study examines the trends in environmental sustainability
and human well-being through green technologies, clean energy,
and environmental taxes using panel data for the top eight
advanced economies from 1990 to 2018. The study applies an
advanced panel technique, cross-sectionally augmented distributed
lags (CS-ARDL), to find long-run and short-run associations
between these variables. Moreover, the role of foreign investment
is added as a control variable. The CS-ARDL estimation confirms
the productive impact of green technologies on environmental
and human well-being, providing that it helps to reduce haze pollution
while promoting human development. Moreover, clean
energy and environmental taxes contribute toa sustainable environment
and human development. Moreover, foreign investment
is a direct source of haze pollution because of more industrialization
and economic activities. The study finally recommends
strengthening the promotion of green technology and clean
energy to achieve both environmental and human well-being in
the long run
Role of Social Media in Greta Thunberg’s Climate and Sustainability Action
Climate change remains a threatening issue to humanity, and lots of people still think of climate change as a growing issue that needs regular measures to curtail it. However, it is not such an easy task to influence a huge mass, but now it has become possible by social media. Because the role played by social media is enormously huge nowadays and many are relying on the internet to gain knowledge, gather data, and socialize. A 16 year old Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg has used social media to raise her voice against climate change and started her first school strike, Fridays For Future, against this in August 2018 at the Swedish parliament. In propagating this narrative, she uses various social media and digital platforms to attract people and institutions in developing a climate activist movement with a united voice and intention. This chapter reveals Greta’s social media activity, how Greta uses the affordances of social media to frame the climate crisis and to build a worldwide action-based conversation

The nexus between top management support on change management, cloud ERP implementation, and performance of SMEs
Top management support (TMS) is a critical success factor in cloud computing (CC) implementation and firm performance. However, extant empirical research on these relationships has obtained mixed findings due to earlier studies focusing on a one-dimensional TMS construct with diverse measurement items that muddle up different behaviours of top management. TMS is typically a multi-dimensional construct, such as TMS change management (TMSCM), TMS resource provision (TMSR), and TMS vision sharing (TMSV). The aim of this study is to examine a specific TMS dimension, TMSCM, on cloud ERP implementation and, further, to measure the effect of TMSCM on the financial performance of manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through the mediating effect of cloud ERP implementation. The proposed research model was validated using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) with a sample of 204 Malaysian manufacturing SMEs. Results reveal that TMSCM significantly impacts cloud ERP implementation and financial performance. Moreover, cloud ERP implementation is a significant driver of financial performance, and it partially mediates the relationship between TMSCM and financial performance. Contributing to disentangling the mixed findings of TMS impact on cloud ERP implementation and firm performance, this study also generates insights for practitioners that they need to balance TMSCM and cloud ERP implementation to improve the financial performance of SMEs
Government financial support and financial performance of SMEs: a dual sequential mediator approach
Government financial support (GFS) is an important factor for firms in developing countries, particularly small and medium enterprises (SMEs), to be competitive and perform better. Nonetheless, studies on the relationship between GFS and firm performance have yielded inconclusive results. Researchers' efforts to resolve the inconclusiveness led to an examination of competitive advantage (CA) as a simple mediator. This study contends that CA should not be the first mediator but rather a resource acquired with GFS, such as cloud ERP, which has CA-enabled qualities, as opposed to GFS, which lacks the ability to offer CA to firms. Hence, using 204 Malaysian manufacturing SMEs as a sample, this study investigates the dual sequential mediation of cloud ERP implementation (CERPI) and CA in the GFS-financial performance (FPER) relationship. PLS-SEM was employed as a data analysis method and for hypotheses assessment. Findings reveal that the GFS is not directly associated with FPER. However, GFS is positively related to CERPI, which subsequently enhances CA positively. CA is also positively associated with FPER, and CERPI and CA sequentially mediate the GFS and FPER relationship positively. This study makes a contribution to the literature by providing a more holistic understanding of the complex relationship between GFS and FPER. This study could assist SMEs and policymakers in gaining a better understanding of the process and requirements for realising valuable benefits from GFS
