Nutritional impact of inflammatory bowel diseases on children and adolescents* *Study conducted at the Service of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology (Complexo HUPES-CPPHO) and Faculdade de Medicina da Bahia, Universidade Federal da Bahia, Salvador, BA, Brazil.

AbstractOBJECTIVETo perform a sistematiy review of the literature about the nutritional impact of inflammatory bowel diseases in children and adolescents.DATA SOURCESA systematic review was performed using PubMed/MEDLINE, LILACS and SciELO databases, with inclusion of articles in Portuguese and in English with original data, that analyzed nutritional aspects of inflammatory bowel diseases in children and adolescents. The initial search used the terms “inflammatory bowel diseases” and “children” or “adolescents” and “nutritional evaluation” or “nutrition deficiency”. The selection of studies was initially performed by reading the titles and abstracts. Review studies and those withouth data for pediatric patients were excluded. Subsequently, the full reading of the articles considered relevant was performed.RESULTS237 studies were identified, and 12 of them were selected according to the inclusion criteria. None of them was performed in South America. During the analysis of the studies, it was observed that nutritional characteristics of patients with inflammatory bowel disease may be altered; the main reports were related to malnutrition, growth stunting, delayed puberty and vitamin D deficiency.CONCLUSIONThere are nutritional consequences of inflammatory bowel diseases in children and adolescents, mainly growth stunting, slower pubertal development, underweight and vitamin deficiencies. Nutritional impairments were more significant in patients with Crohn's disease; overweight and obesity were more common in patients with ulcerative rectocolitis. A detailed nutritional assessment should be performed periodically in children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease

Topical treatments for acne: a bibliographic review/Tratamentos tópicos para acne: uma revisão bibliográfica

Objective: To relate the existing topical therapeutic approaches to combat acne and their mechanisms of action and particularities through bibliographic review. We shall analyze the antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and anti-seborrheic activities of these substances. Methods: The bibliographic review was based on research of published and unpublished articles, in English or Portuguese, in the Cochrane, Pubmed and Scopus databases, in vitro, in vivo and bibliographic reviews demonstrating the topical treatment methods in the fight against Acne vulgaris, considering data from 2010 to August 2020. Results: Topical therapy is based on the type and severity of acne. Despite the severity, it is often treated with topical retinoids or a variety of different substances, such as antibiotics, azelaic acid, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, niacinamide and others, in addition to complementary and alternative medicines (CAM), such as resveratrol, vitamin C, tea tree oil, among others. Topical treatment has the advantage of reducing systemic absorption and increasing exposure of pilosebaceous follicles to treatment. Conclusions: Topical retinoids have been used in acne therapy for over forty years, due to both their efficacy (demonstrated in several clinical trials) and the development of third generation retinoids, which allowed for the reduction of side effects, better chemical compatibility and better stability of formulations. Other topical treatments adopted sought to complement the retinoids and antibiotics with mechanisms of antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, comedolytic and keratolytic action. They are often used as a second line of treatment; and in some special cases for sensitive patients and pregnant women. Acne vulgaris is a chronic disease that affects not only the skin; it has a great psychological and financial factor in affected patients. Clinical follow-up is important because it is an exclusive long-term treatment, and awareness of this fact is important.

O ENSINO DE INGLÊS NO ENSINO MÉDIO: PERSPECTIVAS EDUCOMUNICATIVAS

Esta pesquisa objetiva compreender a educomunicação como potencializadora do processo de aprendizagem da Língua Inglesa por alunos do Ensino Médio. Remetemos a pesquisa à Educomunicação, considerando as profícuas contribuições que a recente área pode oferecer, promovendo mais significado na construção do conhecimento comunicativo da língua, cujos conteúdos e metodologias atuais, por vezes, parecem não fazer sentido para os discentes e pouco têm contribuído para o processo de aprendizagem. Considera-se que mudanças no processo de construção de conhecimento no ambiente escolar precisam acontecer, estabelecendo ecossistemas educomunicativos em que os sujeitos exerçam com autonomia a elaboração de sentidos de acordo com suas realidades e identidades culturais, podendo agregá-los de forma a construírem juntos e de forma dinâmica os novos saberes. Palavras-chave: Educomunicação. MANIFESTAÇÕES REALISTAS NA CONSTRUÇÃO DA PERSONAGEM AURÉLIA NO ROMANCE “SENHORA” DE JOSÉ DE ALENCAR

As manifestações realistas na construção da personagem Aurélia no romance “Senhora” de José de Alencar é um estudo que consiste em mostrar as características existentes na transição entre Romantismo e Realismo na literatura brasileira, juntamente com a transfiguração do ideal para um plano real. José de Alencar revoluciona a literatura com a introdução de novos moldes literários, sendo um representante expressivo do romance urbano, no qual descreve a burguesia ascendente do Segundo Reinado, tornando-o bastante realista. Nesse sentido, a literatura passa a se servir de outros meios narrativos, onde a mulher passa a ter outra visão da e na sociedade. Também é analisada a essência da feminilidade na obra, a personagem Aurélia: de mulher passiva a autoritária, o poder de compra a que o ser humano se submete e a decadência do Romantismo, a fim de evidenciarmos a nítida influência do realismo no romance de José de Alencar

Atuação do enfermeiro ao paciente dialítico com sobrecarga hídrica em Unidades de Terapia Intensiva: uma revisão da literatura

The present study aims to characterize the scientific evidence available on health care for dialysis patients with water overload in intensive care units and discuss the role of nurses in relation to patients with water overload. The main prevalent conditions in the ICU identified by the studies are: sepsis or septic shock, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, lung diseases, victims of trauma, hematological and liver diseases, pathologies of the immune system and renal failure, whether acute or chronic. Nursing care for dialysis patients is a major challenge for nurses working in Intensive Care Units, given the need for continuous attention and early intervention regarding complications associated with the disease and treatment, with water overload being a large part of concern regarding the clinical management of these patients.O presente estudo tem como objetivo caracterizar as evidências científicas disponíveis sobre a assistência de saúde frente ao paciente dialítico com sobrecarga hídrica em unidades de terapia intensiva e discutir a atuação do enfermeiro diante do paciente em sobrecarga hídrica. As principais afecções prevalentes na UTIS apontadas pelos estudos são: sepse ou choque séptico, doenças cardiovasculares, cerebrovasculares, doenças pulmonares, vítimas de traumatismo, doenças hematológicas e hepáticas, patologias do sistema imunológico e insuficiência renal, seja ela aguda ou crônica. A assistência de enfermagem ao paciente dialítico é um grande desafio para os enfermeiros que atuam em Unidades de Terapia Intensiva, visto a necessidade de atenção contínua e intervenção precoce quanto às complicações associada à doença e ao tratamento, tendo a sobrecarga hídrica uma grande parcela de preocupação no que tange a manejo clínico desses pacientes.
