    This article reflects on the notion of national literature by analyzing the reception relationship that the Boom Latin American writers had in Spain. How can we account, when studying the process of national literary life, of the presence of ?foreign? literary texts that circulate widely and without the need for any translation?     La novela española contemporánea ha dado una relevancia especial al interés por recuperar y transmitir la memoria colectiva del pasado reciente. Si bien la denominada “novela de memoria” (HERZBERGER, 1995) ya es una constante en la producción narrativa desde los primeros años de la transición a la democracia, este ensayo propone que en la última década ha ido ganando popularidad una “novela de la memoria histórica” con rasgos estructurales y temáticos que la convierten en una modalidad diferenciada. While the production of “novels of memory” (HERZBERGER, 1995) has been consistent since the beginning of the transition to democracy, this essay proposes that in the last decade has gained popularity a “novel of historical memory”, which has distinctive estructural and thematic features and deserves to be studied as a differentiated modality. Using as a point of departure the notion of heteropathic memory (SILVERMAN, 1996) and through the analysis of the parallels and differences between two novels representative of both models —Carmen Martín Gaite’s El cuarto de atrás (1978) and Carme Riera’s La meitat de l’ànima (2004), respectively—, the essay identifies some of the most distinctive features of the novel of historical memory and, in particular, the literary articulation of memory as a collective and civic project

    Digital workflow for the conservation of Bahrain built heritage: The sheik ISA bin Ali house

    Currently, the commercial market offers several tools for digital documentation of historic sites and buildings. Photogrammetry and laser scanning play a fundamental role in the acquisition of metric information, which is then processed to generate reliable records particularly useful also in the built heritage conservation field. Although potentially very fast and accurate, such techniques require expert operators to produce reliable results, especially in the case of complex and large sites. The aim of this paper is to present the digital workflow developed for data acquisition and processing of the Shaikh Isa Bin Ali house in Muharraq, Bahrain. This historic structure is an outstanding example of Bahrain architecture as well as tangible memory of the country history, with strong connotations in the Bahrain cultural identity. The building has been documented employing several digital techniques, including: Aerial (drone) and terrestrial photogrammetry, rectifying photography, total station and laser scanning. The documentation project has been developed for the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) by a multidisciplinary team of experts from Carleton Immersive Media Studio (CIMS, Carleton University, Canada) and Gicarus Lab (Politecnico di Milano, Italy)

    El proyecto que se va a presentar surge tras la colaboración con la empresa “ATIM S.L.” durante las prácticas de formación, durante las cuales se propuso el estudio, diseño y desarrollo de un filtro regenerativo de tratamiento de aguas para grandes caudales. El objetivo es lograr la reducción al máximo de las pérdidas de agua, el consumo de energía y el uso de productos químicos, que supone una gran ventaja frente a las soluciones propuestas por la competencia, debido a que los otros métodos de limpieza en filtros proporcionan un rendimiento notablemente menor. Entre el equipo de diseño se estudiaron distintas opciones; sin embargo, se concluyó que la idea de un filtro regenerativo era las más apropiada para las aplicaciones a las que se destina el producto; además, resulta una solución innovadora en el sector de la filtración, y con unas prestaciones sin igual hasta el momento, ya que, al cotejar los cálculos orientativos previos con los ensayos experimentales se han alcanzado altas cotas de correlación, obteniendo resultados únicos en el ámbito de la filtraciónABSTRACT: The project which is going to be introduced rises up after having taken part in the training practices at “ATIM S.L.” when the study, design and development of regenerative filter for high-flow water being planned. The aim was reducing water losses, energy consumption and the use of chemical products, which means a great advantage versus the solutions purposed by the competition, due to their option was using another type of filter have lower efficiency. Among the design team several options were evaluated, however, it was concluded that the idea of regenerative filter was supposed to be the most suitable solution for the use this product was led to; furthermore, so far, since on comparing previous orientative calculations have been achieved in the filtration sphere.Grado en Ingeniería Marítim

    El proyecto que se presentar surge tras la colaboración con la empresa “Naviera Armas”, durante las prácticas de formación de alumnos de máquinas en el buque Volcán de Tijarafe, durante las cuales se propuso la mejora de fiabilidad en los equipos frigoríficos a bordo. La renovación de las instalaciones frigoríficas de un buque es un proceso que, no solo consiste en cambiar de refrigerante y poner a funcionar la instalación, sino que comprende muchos otros aspectos, como la compatibilidad entre refrigerantes o la legislación vigente. Este estudio ha demostrado que durante la vida útil del barco se precisa una mínima inversión para conseguir una mejor eficiencia de la instalación y un ahorro de costes.ABSTRACT: This project arises after the collaboration with the company called “Naviera Armas”,during the Machine Students training on the Volcán de Tijarafe, ship, time when the improvement of the reliability of the refrigeration equipment on board was proposed.     Ensinar e aprender Matemática na escola engendra grandes desafios de modo que a busca por abordagens alternativas muitas vezes se faz presente. Diversas podem ser as exigências. Tornar a Matemática um componente importante na construção da cidadania crítica pode ser uma delas. Pretende-se nesse texto, de cunho teórico, abordar e discutir elementos da Educação Matemática Crítica (EMC) que podem servir de fomento à crítica e à reflexão tanto no sentido de subsidiar o docente a ser um agente crítico-reflexivo de sua própria prática pedagógica quanto, concomitantemente, dos estudantes frente ao papel da matemática na sociedade e à sua própria aprendizagem para além do que a tradição nas aulas de matemática tem permitido. Imersos nesse propósito fizemos uma incursão pela literatura relativa à EMC perpassando desde aspectos filosóficos até elementos da prática para o ensino e aprendizagem na sala de aula. Destacadamente, percebemos como resultados que o próprio saber matemático deve ser questionado, que o paradigma do exercício não possui neutralidade e que há mecanismos de enfrentamento aos desafios e preocupações colocados. Conclui-se que a EMC nos provê elementos tanto para questionar o modus operandi da tradição na Educação Matemática quanto para um fazer pedagógico que privilegie tais questionamentos
