    Os serviços de Tecnologia da Informação (TI) têm se proliferado no mundo pela emergente demanda da sociedade em utilizar os recursos tecnológicos, como meio de solucionar problemas. Dentro desses serviços, tem-se a oferta de soluções solicitadas pelo cliente, que demandam dos provedores de serviços, entregas rápidas em níveis de qualidade cada vez mais desafiadores. Logo, a prestação de serviços de TI tem se tornado uma área cada vez mais crítica. Diversas Normas, Modelos e Padrões tem sido utilizados, com o objetivo de estruturar os processos e as atividades da Prestação de Serviços de TI. Neste contexto, a Administração Pública Federal Brasileira (APF), aparece como o maior consumidor de serviços e soluções de TI no Brasil. Para isto, a APF estabeleceu processos na Instrução Normativa IN/SLTI/MPOG 04/2014 e Guia de Contratação de Soluções de TI. Estes processos foram criados baseados na Lei 8.666/93, com o objetivo de guiar as contratações de soluções, produtos e serviços de TI no Brasil. Este trabalho apresenta a Proposta de Uma Abordagem para Prestação de Serviços de Tecnologia da Informação à Administração Pública Federal por Empresas Brasileiras, com o objetivo de minimizar os potenciais conflitos existentes entre a APF e a Indústria Brasileira de Software e Serviços

    Contribution from Tree Legumes to Mixed Grass-Legume Pastures

    Legumes and associated microorganisms may fix N from atmosphere and benefit grass on mixed grass-legume pastures. Nitrogen may be transferred by different mechanisms, including direct transfer of N compounds by roots, decomposition of nodules, roots, litter from legume (Nair 1993), and through animal excreta after legume intake by cattle. Silvopastoral systems including tree legumes may become a viable option in tropical regions, considering the increasing prices of N fertilizers compared to farm products such as beef and milk.     CAN PHYTOHORMONES STIMULATE INITIAL GROWTH OF BRAZILIAN SAVANNA TREES?

    The initial growth of Cerrado tree species is slow, what impairs large scale seedling production for planting. The effect of plant hormones is well known for crop species, in this study we aimed to test the effect of two commercial biostimulants on the initial growth of six native tree species widely distributed and abundant in Cerrado. We applied nine treatments using foliar spray: T0 - control (water); commercial Progibbí® (gibberellic acid) T1 - 0,8 mL.L-1; T2 - 1,6 mL.L-1; T3 - 2,4 mL.L-1 and T4 - 3,2 mL.L-1; commercial Stimulateí® (gibberellic acid, cytokinin and auxin): T5 - 6,0 mL.L-1; T6 - 8,0 mL.L-1; T7 - 12,0 mL.L-1; T8 - 18,0 mL.L-1 and T9 - 24,0 mL.L-1. We measured plant height and diameter every other week and recorded root and shoot biomass and leaf area after 111 growing days. No treatment significantly increased plants' initial growth, which may only happen after higher and/or repeated use of these two biostimulants, especially Progibbí® for Anacardium humile and Jacaranda cuspidifolia and Stimulateí® for Hymenaea stignocarpa and Copaifera langsdorfii

    Correlation between mass and volume of collected blood with positivity of blood cultures

    Background The collection of blood cultures is an extremely important method in the management of patients with suspected infection. Microbiology laboratories should monitor blood culture collection. Methods Over an 8-month period we developed a prospective, observational study in an adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU). We correlated the mass contained in the blood vials with blood culture positivity and we also verified the relationship between the mass of blood and blood volume collected for the diagnosis of bloodstream infection (BSI), as well as we explored factors predicting positive blood cultures. Results We evaluated 345 patients with sepsis, severe sepsis or septic shock for whom blood culture bottles were collected for the diagnosis of BSI. Of the 55 patients with BSI, 40.0 % had peripheral blood culture collection only. BSIs were classified as nosocomial in 34.5 %. In the multivariate model, the blood culture mass (in grams) remained a significant predictor of positivity, with an odds ratio 1.01 (i.e., for each additional 1 mL of blood collected there was a 1 % increase in positivity; 95 % CI 1.01–1.02, p = 0.001; Nagelkerke R Square [R2] = 0.192). For blood volume collected, the adjusted odds ratio was estimated at 1.02 (95 % CI: 1.01–1.03, p \u3c 0.001; R2 = 0.199). For each set of collected blood cultures beyond one set, the adjusted odds ratio was estimated to be 1.27 (95 % CI: 1.14–1.41, p \u3c 0.001; R2 = 0.221). Conclusions Our study was a quality improvement project that showed that microbiology laboratories can use the weight of blood culture bottles to determine if appropriate volume has been collected to improve the diagnosis of BSI

    Indigenous and local communities can boost seed supply in the UN decade on ecosystem restoration.

    The UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration is poised to trigger the recovery of ecosystem services and transform structural injustices across the world in a way unparalleled in human history. The inclusion of diverse Indigenous and local communities to co-create robust native seed supply systems is the backbone to achieve the goals for the Decade. Here we show how community-based organizations have co-developed native seed supply strategies for landscape restoration from the bottom-up. We draw on the interconnections over two decades of seed networks in Brazil and the emerging Indigenous participation in native seed production in Australia. From an environmental justice perspective, we provide a participatory seed supply approach for local engagement, noting local geographical, social and cultural contexts. Meeting large-scale restoration goals requires the connection between local seed production and collaborative platforms to negotiate roles, rights and responsibilities between stakeholders. An enduring native seed supply must include a diversity of voices and autonomy of community groups that builds equitable participation in social, economic, and environmental benefits.Funder: European Research Council (ERC) Award number: 86600

    Wild dogs at stake: deforestation threatens the only Amazon endemic canid, the short-eared dog (Atelocynus microtis)

    The persistent high deforestation rate and fragmentation of the Amazon forests are the main threats to their biodiversity. To anticipate and mitigate these threats, it is important to understand and predict how species respond to the rapidly changing landscape. The short-eared dog Atelocynus microtis is the only Amazon-endemic canid and one of the most understudied wild dogs worldwide. We investigated short-eared dog habitat associations on two spatial scales. First, we used the largest record database ever compiled for short-eared dogs in combination with species distribution models to map species habitat suitability, estimate its distribution range and predict shifts in species distribution in response to predicted deforestation across the entire Amazon (regional scale). Second, we used systematic camera trap surveys and occupancy models to investigate how forest cover and forest fragmentation affect the space use of this species in the Southern Brazilian Amazon (local scale). Species distribution models suggested that the short-eared dog potentially occurs over an extensive and continuous area, through most of the Amazon region south of the Amazon River. However, approximately 30% of the short-eared dog's current distribution is expected to be lost or suffer sharp declines in habitat suitability by 2027 (within three generations) due to forest loss. This proportion might reach 40% of the species distribution in unprotected areas and exceed 60% in some interfluves (i.e. portions of land separated by large rivers) of the Amazon basin. Our local-scale analysis indicated that the presence of forest positively affected short-eared dog space use, while the density of forest edges had a negative effect. Beyond shedding light on the ecology of the short-eared dog and refining its distribution range, our results stress that forest loss poses a serious threat to the conservation of the species in a short time frame. Hence, we propose a re-assessment of the short-eared dog's current IUCN Red List status (Near Threatened) based on findings presented here. Our study exemplifies how data can be integrated across sources and modelling procedures to improve our knowledge of relatively understudied species

    Comparative genomics of canine-isolated Leishmania (Leishmania) amazonensis from an endemic focus of visceral leishmaniasis in Governador Valadares, southeastern Brazil

    Leishmaniasis is a highly diverse group of diseases caused by kinetoplastid of the genus Leishmania. These parasites are taxonomically diverse, with human pathogenic species separated into two subgenera according to their development site inside the alimentary tract of the sand fly insect vector. The disease encompasses a variable spectrum of clinical manifestations with tegumentary or visceral symptoms. Among the causative species in Brazil, Leishmania (Leishmania) amazonensis is an important etiological agent of human cutaneous leishmaniasis that accounts for more than 8% of all cases in endemic regions. L. (L.) amazonensis is generally found in the north and northeast regions of Brazil. Here, we report the first isolation of L. (L.) amazonensis from dogs with clinical manifestations of visceral leishmaniasis in Governador Valadares, an endemic focus in the southeastern Brazilian State of Minas Gerais where L. (L.) infantum is also endemic. These isolates were characterized in terms of SNPs, chromosome and gene copy number variations, confirming that they are closely related to a previously sequenced isolate obtained in 1973 from the typical Northern range of this species. The results presented in this article will increase our knowledge of L. (L.) amazonensis-specific adaptations to infection, parasite survival and the transmission of this Amazonian species in a new endemic area of Brazil

    Aortic Response to Strength Training and Spirulina platensis Dependent on Nitric Oxide and Antioxidants

    Studies have shown that supplementation with Spirulina platensis improves vascular reactivity. However, it is unclear whether in association with strength training this effect can be enhanced. Thus, this study aimed to determine the effects of strength training and S. platensis on the reactivity of the aorta from Wistar rat and the possible mechanisms involved. The animals were supplemented with S. platensis and divided into sedentary (SG, SG50, SG150, and SG500) and trained groups (TG, TG50, TG150, and TG500). Nitrite, malondialdehyde (MDA) and antioxidant activity were determined by biochemical assays. To evaluate vascular response, cumulative concentration—response curves to phenylephrine (PHE) and acetylcholine (ACh) were constructed. L-NAME was used to assess the participation of nitric oxide (NO). It was observed that the PHE contractile potency was reduced in TG50, TG150, and TG500 groups compared to SG50, SG150, and SG500 groups, respectively. However, the presence of L-NAME increased the contractile response in all groups. Strength training potentiated the increase in relaxing activity induced by S. platensis, where the pCE50 values of ACh increased in TG150 and TG500. These responses were accompanied by increased nitrite production, MDA reduction and increased antioxidant activity in the aorta of both TG150 and TG500 groups. Thus, the present study demonstrated that combined with strength training, S. platensis potentiates vascular improvement through the participation of NO and reduction of oxidative stress
