    Electrochemical performance of a thin film type SOFC on a porous microtubular support

    This report summarizes electrochemical performances of a thin film type SOFC prepared on a porous microtubular support. The sample was prepared via the co-sintering of YSZ electrolyte and NiO-YSZ anode bilayers on a porous microtubular YSZ support, and then an LSCF-GDC cathode layer was also prepared on the electrolyte film. Evaluations were conducted using impedance analyzer and potentio/galvanostat under a humidified hydrogen flow. Film thickness of the anode layer was controlled by the composition of the anode coating suspension and the coating conditions (coating number and coating speed etc.). Impedance analyses showed that with increasing operation temperature, semi-circle at higher frequency region became small, while semi-circle at lower frequency region weakly depended on the temperature. Electrode activation energy was calculated to be approximately 80 kJ/mol using Arrhenius plot on the semi-circle at higher frequency region.open1133Nsciescopu

    Preliminary Studies about Synthesis and Electrical Properties of Ruthenium Doped Lanthanum Strontium Titanate as a Potential Anode of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

    The lanthanum strontium titanate (LST) is one of the most representative alternative anode materials. Although it shows low catalytic properties, the disadvantage could be improved by doping of ruthenium which is widely used as catalyst under steam reforming reaction or oxidation reaction. The ruthenium doped lanthanum strontium titanates (LSTRs) powders were synthesized by complex EDTA-citrate method showing well crystallinity. Additionally, the prepared samples were evaluated through various experimental tests. For example, the stability in the reducing atmosphere and chemical compatibility with YSZ electrolyte such as reactivity test in high temperature were confirmed by XRD (X-ray diffraction). And electrical conductivity in wet H-2 atmosphere at 900 degrees C is about 350.6 S/cm, 342.4 S/cm and 179.1 S/cm with sintered bar of LST, LSTR0.02 and LSTR0.05, respectively.open1111Nsciescopu

    Performance of an Anode Supported Solid Oxide Fuel Cell with Indirect Internal Reforming

    The conversion of fuel into hydrogen-rich gas is necessary for fuel cells. This can be achieved either indirectly in fuel processing systems, in which the hydrocarbon feed is converted in an external catalytic steam reformer, or directly in the fuel cell. In this paper, the unit module of solid oxide fuel cell was assembled by one reformer and four cells. The reformer was fabricated by extruded dummy cell and combined with two cells on each side respectively. The reforming catalyst was coated on internal channel of the dummy cell. The unit module has successfully tested with wet CH4 as fuel and air as oxidant and its maximum power density exceeded 150mW/cm(2) at 750 degrees C.open110Nsciescopu

    Design and Fabrication of Electrolyte-Supported Tubular SOFC Combined with Supercritical Water Oxidation on Biomass Gas

    Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are relatively simple and environmental friendly devices for the production of electricity from hydrocarbons. The use of a high pressure supercritical water (SCW) reactor containing a SOFC has the potential for using a multitude of logistical liquid fuels that would otherwise not be possible in a regular SOFC system. A SOFC-SCW system was designed to allow the anode to be exposed to the pressure and chemical milieu of the supercritical water oxidation reactor. The effects of the amount of water/fuel and oxygen fed into the reactor under SCW conditions at 400 degrees C were studied. The effects on electrochemical performance as well as preliminary results on a number of feed stocks, for example pectin, are also described.open1111Nsciescopu

    Reported herein is a light-triggered organocatalytic strategy for the desymmetrization of achiral 2-fluoro-substi- tuted cyclopentane-1,3-diketones. The chemistry is based on an intermolecular aldol reaction of photochemically generated hydroxy-o-quinodimethanes and simultaneously forges two adjacent fully substituted carbon stereocenters, with one bearing a stereogenic carbon–fluorine unit. The method uses readily available substrates, a simple chiral organocatalyst, and mild reaction conditions to afford an array of highly function- alized chiral 2-fluoro-3-hydroxycyclopentanones

Johann Kapistran. Diese Kirche, die f ruher ei n ancleres Patrozinium hat te, wurde einige Male umgebaut ,im 18. Jh. barockisiert, und Anfang cles 20 Jhs. neugotisch restauriert. Bei clieser Gelegenheit wurcle ihr architektonisch- plastischer Schmuck e n t fernt , c ler s i c ht s eit dem Jahr 1912. in Zagreb befindet ( jetzt im Hi stor ischen Museum) . ln der Ki rche verblieb cine Konsolemit cler Jahreszahl 1468., nach welcher vor e iner halben Jahrhundert J. Br unšmid auch die Ubrigen erhaltenen Konsolen in clie zweite Halfte des 15. Jhs. clatierte. De r S t i l e i n iger von ihnen spr icht j ecloch fur cine andere Entstehungszeit. Es werden anschliessend st i l istische Merkmale dreier clieser Denkmaler untersucht: einer Konsole mit Laubwerk (42x42x59 cm), einer Konsole mi t Teufelskopf (46x37x47 cm) und einer Konsole mit dem Kopfe eines Monstrums (29x48x48 cna), die alle aus Sanclstein gemeisselt sincI. Ein Vergleich mi t Ko nsolen in cler Kathedrale i n Prag, sowie auch nai t v erwancltem Mater ial i n Zagreb, Slowenien, Osterreich uncI i n Ungarn (Budapest), welches unter elena Einfluss c ler Werkstatt der Par ler i n Pr ag entstanden i s t , z e i gt , class auch clie Konsolen aus Ilok Zuge aufweisen, die fur elen von der prager Parlerwerkstatt gemeisselten architektonisch-plastischen Schmuck kennzeichnend sind. Es wircl vorausgesetzt, class cliese Einflusse nicht auf di rektem Wege von Prag nach I lok gelang sincI, sondern uber Buclapest. Dort haben — nach Gerevich — n ach elem Jahre 1385.,nachclem c!er Chor cler Katheclrale in Prag fer t iggestellt war , al tere Meister cler ersten Generation gearbeitet ( si e konnten etwa 60 Jahre alt gewesen sein). Diese Meister sincI wahrscheinlich auf j ener alteren St i lstufe stehengeblieben, die ihr e Werke f u r clie prager Katheclrale kennzeichnet, bevor sie in di e Wel t h i nausz ogen.
