Background: This study aimed to know the effect of the Corona pandemic on mental health among Al Ain University students and its relationship to some demographic variables (gender, academic level age, college, and marital status). Subject and method: The sample of the study consisted of (258) male and female students from Al Ain University students from humanities and scientific colleges. The modified Mental Health Scale: R S CL-90 Symptoms Check List was used, which was developed by Derogatis, Lipman, and Linocovi, it included (74) items divided into seven dimensions: physical symptoms, obsessive-compulsive disorder, reactive sensitivity, depression, anxiety, enmity, and fear anxiety, after modifying it for the purposes of the study. Results: The results showed that the level of mental health of the sample as a whole was very high. The results also showed that the level of mental health was low for females when compared to males. The second-year students were less in the level of mental health compared to the rest of the levels. For students who were less than twenty years old, the level of mental health was low compared to those over twenty years old. No differences were found in the level of mental health among students of scientific and human colleges. As for the social situation, the level of mental health among single students was low compared to married people. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that the higher the average mental problems (the dimensions of the mental health level), the lower of the mental health problems. Although the level of mental health was varied according to the demographic variables

The present correlational, quantitative research aimed to examine the relationship between identity styles and conformity. To do so, a probability sample of 365 students were selected from Islamic Azad University – Shahr-e Rey Branch, Iran. among whom the conformity and identity styles questionnaires were distributed. The degrees of correlation between these two variables were determined by Pearson\u27s bivariate correlation coefficient. The findings showed that there is a positive correlation between each of these identity styles and conformity. However, this relationship was only significant between the diffuse/avoidant identity style and conformity. The limitations and suggestions for further research are also mentioned in the present paper

This study investigated the relationship between the digital gap and the intention of Jordanians towards e-government usage. It focused on three components of the digital divide namely access, skills, and innovativeness. In addition, the research investigated how socio-demographic factors influence this connection. Data comprised 620 valid replies to questionnaires issued to 700 Jordanian citizens aged 22 and older who resided in urban and rural areas. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26 and Analysis of Moment Structures (AMOS) version 24 were employed in data analyses and hypotheses testing. The results showed that all three aspects of the digital divide had a significant influence (access, skills, and innovativeness) on the intent of Jordanian citizens to utilize e-government, and the dimension of access imparted the strongest impact, followed by the dimension of skills and then the dimension of innovativeness. Additionally, it was discovered that gender, age, and education were the socio-demographic factors that could weaken the impact of the digital divide on the intentions of user to access e-government services. Contrariwise, the factor of income did not show a similar impact. Furthermore, perceived security significantly impacted the propensity towards e-government usage. Trust played a significant role in mediating the link between perceived security and the intention to engage in e-government

This research uses Technology Acceptance Model to explore the elements influencing students' attitudes toward using Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer (ChatGPT), a recently developed artificial intelligence (AI) tool, for learning and educational purposes. Using Amos version 23 structural equation modelling and 880 student survey responses, the suggested model was empirically tested. According to the report, students think well of ChatGPT utilization in the classroom. Credibility, Usefulness and ease of use, all influence how positively people feel about using this technology in a classroom setting. The study's findings, however, did not support the notion that students' adoption and use of ChatGPT was insignificantly influenced by perceived enjoyment. Moreover, the results conclude that attitude mediates the relationship between usefulness and intention to use ChatGPT. The research will help businesses, educational institutions, and the global community by providing insight into how students view the ChatGPT service within a learning environment. Additionally, the application boosts learners' confidence and interest, which improves general awareness and literacy. Finally, the research will facilitate developers of AI in the betterment of their product and service delivery and regulators in regulating the use of AI-based bots. Owing to its recentness, there is not much study currently available on ChatGPT use in education. This research adds significantly to the extant knowledge on the adoption of advanced education technologies by examining the adoption characteristics of ChatGPT, a novel AI-based tool involving students. Additionally, there is a dearth of research in the literature on students' adoption of ChatGPT for educational purposes. Such a gap was filled as this study identified the factors affecting students' adoption of ChatGPT in the classroom

This study examined the perception of investors toward the factors of Artificial Intelligence (AI) that impact behavioral intention of AI adoption. TAM was used with the addition of three factors of subjective norms, trust in service and service provider, and training. Jordanian stock market investors with basic investment knowledge were selected as the study participants using a convenience sampling method. The analyzed data were obtained from 610 responses. Results demonstrated the significant impact of trust in service and subjective norms on AI. Attitudes, perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness showed statistical significance toward intention to use AI. Results also showed significant impact of training on perceived ease of use

Nowadays, children live in the world of modern technologies, which have be-come an integral part of our daily life. Therefore, it is very important to study the influence of the digital world on the child, especially on his personality de-velopment. The impact of the digital world on personality disorder is not enough studied in the UAE and is relevant. The cause of personality disorder in an adult can be mental health problems as a child, namely, emotional instability, excessive fear and anxiety, behavioral problems. The purpose of our research is to evaluate the relationship between the dependence of children on the Internet and the mental health of a child. The study involved 463 students from public and private schools in Dubai aged from 8 to 16 years. Internet Addiction Test, IAT, C. Young (Kimberley S. Young, 1996) was used to determine the level of Internet addiction The Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ, 2015) was used to determine the degree of psychological health of a child. Pearson’s correlation analysis showed that there is a positive correlation between the level of Internet addiction and the child’s psychological health, the Pearson correla-tion coefficient is 0.63. The category of internet-addict has the highest rates on the criteria: emotional symptoms (61%), peer relationship problems (73%), hy-peractivity (33%), behavioral problems (43%). High rates of these criteria indi-cate that Internet-dependent children are characterized by aggressiveness, in-creased anxiety, depression, indifference to others, irresponsibility. In addition, they have problems with communication, excessive impulsiveness, lack of de-sire to help others. This result indicates the presence of the negative impact of excessive use of the Internet on the psychological health of the child, which can cause personality disorder

There is no doubt whatsoever that social networks affects our lives both positively and negatively. Social media addiction is one of the negative impacts of social networking and affects students on a global scale. The research seeks to find out whether there is a statistically significant relationship between the patterns of social addiction and the academic performance by gender of students at the university. The study used the descriptive approach, through a random sample of 383 students from Al Ain University, United Arab Emirates. The results of the study showed a strong negative relationship between social media addiction and academic performance. 68.93% (264 participants), were within the moderate level of addiction, and the Mann-Whitney U test for nominal qualitative variables revealed that social networking addiction was higher. In male participants compared to social networking addiction in female participants. The results of the research are important at the local level due to the social and economic well-being of the Emirati society, and consequently the spread of the Internet in a wide field and the ease of children's possession of information technology tools. The researchers recommend conducting more studies at the local and global levels to spread awareness of the effects of this phenomenon. We suggested to university leaders, lecturers, and parents to adopt effective educational and training measures in guiding children to exploit social networks in effective education and to advise them about the dangers of Internet addiction and unhelpful networks
