Conservative Treatment of A Follicular Ameloblastoma Of The Anterior Mandible: A Case Report

Introduction: Ameloblastoma  is a tumor of odontogenic epithelium arising from  remnants of dental lamina. It is a benign tumor but locally invasive affecting mandible more than maxilla.Presentation of the case: A 36-year-old male patient reported with a swelling on the anterior mandibular area and extended to the right side of mandible. Orthopantomogram revealed a unilocular radiolucency extending from mesial side of tooth 34 to mesial side of 45. CT Scan showed the extension of the lesion in the mesio-distal axis. It also revealed the buccal cortical expansion and the preservation of the internal bone cortical. Enucleation conservative treatment was then performed under local anesthesia with extraction of the 43. The pathology report concluded a Follicular Unicystic Ameloblastoma. The patient was then followed up over a period of one year and showed a notable reduction of the size of the lesion with no signs of recurrence.Conclusions: Conservative treatment is highly recommended in unicystic follicular patterns of ameloblastoma rather than radical treatment

Kesukaan Memilih Media Cetak dalam Pengajaran Puisi di Kalangan Guru Sekolah Menengah di Daerah Hulu Langat

Kajian ini bertujuan meninjau kesukaan memilih media cetak dalam pengajaran puisi di kalangan guru-quru sekolah menengah, di samping mengenal pasti faktor-faktor yanq mempengaruhi pemilihan media cetak tersebut. Seramai 20 orang guru dari 12 buah sekolah yang menawarkan mata pelajaran Kesusasteraan melayu di daerah Hulu langat, Selangor telah menjadi responden kajian ini. soal selidik, dan temubual telah digunakan bagi pengumpulan data dan analisa di buat dengan menggunakan kaedah statistik seperti kekerapan, peratusan, min dan juga korelasi Pearson

تناولت الباحثة في هذه الدراسة البحث في طبيعة استخدامات صحفيي جريدة الشرق الجمهوري لتكنولوجيا الاتصال الحديثة ومعرفة مدى تأثير هذه الآليات المستحدثة في العمل الإعلامي، وقد اعتمدت الدراسة على أسلوب المعاينة الشاملة، وذلك في إطار منهج المسح ودراسة الحالة من خلال صحيفة الاستقصاء بالموازاة مع المقابلة والملاحظة العلمية، وقد تبنت الباحثة في هذه الدراسة نظرية البنائية الوظيفية فضلا عن مدخل الاستخدامات والإشباعات ، وقد بينت النتائج أن لتكنولوجيا الاتصال تأثيرات إيجابية مختلفة على مستوى جمع المعلومات وتوصيلها إلى مقر الصحيفة ، معالجتها وتوثيقها ومن ثم استرجاعها وتحريرها وإخراجها ثم نشرها ، وبالمقابل أثارت تكنولوجيا الاتصال جملة من القضايا نذكر منها قضية الملكية الفكرية، وحارس البوابة، بالإضافة إلى مسألتي الإبداع ومصداقية وموضوعية المعلومات المستقاة من الشبكة

Hybrid image representation methods for automatic image annotation: a survey

In most automatic image annotation systems, images are represented with low level features using either global methods or local methods. In global methods, the entire image is used as a unit. Local methods divide images into blocks where fixed-size sub-image blocks are adopted as sub-units; or into regions by using segmented regions as sub-units in images. In contrast to typical automatic image annotation methods that use either global or local features exclusively, several recent methods have considered incorporating the two kinds of information, and believe that the combination of the two levels of features is beneficial in annotating images. In this paper, we provide a survey on automatic image annotation techniques according to one aspect: feature extraction, and, in order to complement existing surveys in literature, we focus on the emerging image annotation methods: hybrid methods that combine both global and local features for image representation

The Illocutionary Act Produced by Kate Reddy to Jack Abelhamer and Clark in “ I Don\u27t Know How She Does IT”

This study aims to discuss the illocutionary acts produced by Kate Reddy in “I don\u27t Know How She Does It” movie, in the business communication with her business partner (Jack Abelhammer) and her boss (Clark). To support this study, the writer uses the theory of speech act by Austin (1962) and Paltridge (2006), illocutionary keywords by Searle (1969,1975), and the theory of context by Gee (2005). This research is a descriptive qualitative research because it is used it to form a descriptive qualitative conclusion to describe the illocutionary act occures in the conversation in this movie. From the findings, the writer finds out that in order to make a sucessful business conversation, Kate produced four types of illocutionary acts to both her partner and her boss: representatives, directives, commissives, and expressives. Based on the findings, there are three similarities that the writer found: 1) the illocutionary act which is not used by Kate to her interlocutors is declarative, 2) the stage of illocutionary act produced by Kate to her interlocutors is the same to each other, and 3) there are the illocutionary act that is rejected by her interlocutors. Besides, the differences are also related to the use of various subtypes of Illocutionary act used by Kate to her partner and to her boss. Finally, the writer concludes that Illocutionary act plays an important role in Kate\u27s utterances since it helps Kate to state her intended meaning behind her utterances; to make a statement to convince, to give suggestions, to make request and many more, to her interlocutors in their business conversatio
