    Material development is one of the competencies that should be required by Arabic teacher in their duties. It is important for them to make the teaching and learning process more effective and efficient. In fact, many teacher pay less attention to their duties. This research is a descriptive-qualitative. The subjects of the research were Arabic teachers of public and private Madrasah Aliyah. Data was collected through interviews, observation, documentation, and triangulation. The Arabic material development of MA teachers in Parepare were, reduction, simple adaptation and modifications, addition of sharf and qawaid. The problems faced by Arabic teacher at Madrasah Aliyah in Parepare are a low student motivation in learning Arabic, variety of Arabic language ability, lack of cost and infrastructure. To overcome these problems, the teachers are encouraged to participate actively in Congress of Subject Teacher (MGMP), teachers are motivated to take part in training or workshop relating to the improvement of learning and teaching materials, the teachers motivate students to interact with the Arabic language, the teachers usually adjust the material to the students' abilities, and teachers delivers teaching materials with various techniques

    THE USE OF DOMINOES GAME IN TEACHING VOCABULARY : A Classroom action research at a junior high school in cianjur

    This research was conducted to examine whether the implementation of the Dominoes game affects the students’ vocabulary mastery and how the use of the game shapes the students’ learning involvement. The method used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR) in which the researcher worked collaboratively with the English teacher in the class. The CAR consisted of two cycles with the steps of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting in each cycle. The data were gathered through procedures, i.e. observation, questionnaire, interview, and tests. The result of this research showed that there was a significant development in the students’ vocabulary mastery, as proven through a t - test. In addition, there was an increase in the students’ fulfillment of Minimum Mastery Criterion from 0% before the treatment to 16.7% after cycle 1 and 85.7% after cycle 2. Accordingly, the criterion of success was achieved. Equally important, the result of the questionnaire showed that the students responded positively towards the use of the Dominoes game in teaching vocabulary. Likewise, the results of observation showed that the students actively participated in the learning process. The two results were supported by the positive responses from the students to the use of Dominoes game, as revealed through the questionnaire, and the positive collaborator’s opinion on the use of the game, as evidenced in the interview

    THE USE OF K-W-L (KNOW – WANT to KNOW – LEARNED) STRATEGY TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION

    AbstractThe objectives of this research are: (1) finding out whether and to what extent KWL (Know - Want to Know - Learned) Strategy can improve reading ability of sixth grade students of SD Negeri Buaranjati I and (2) describing what happens to classroom situation when KWL Strategy is applied in teaching reading. The subjects of the research are twenty eight students of class 6th SD Negeri Buaranjati I. The research data were obtained by using several techniques including: test, observation, interview, questionnaire, field notes and photographs. The quantitative data were analyzed by using descriptive statistic. Mean while, qualitative data were analyzed by using 5 stages suggested by Burns (1999: 157- 159) consisting of: assembling the data; coding the data; comparing the data; building interpretation; and reporting the outcomes. The research findings show that the use of KWL Strategy could improve students’ reading ability and classroom situation of English class. The improvement of students’ reading comprehension can be seen from the improvement of the mean score of pre-test, first post-test, and second post-test, that is 66.95; 75.43 and 80.65.Keywords: K-W-L strategy, Know – Want to Know – Learned, reading comprehension AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) mengetahui apakah strategi KWL (Know-Want to Know- Learned) dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa kelas 6 SDN Buaranjati I dan (2) untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana situasi dalam kelas ketika strategi KWL digunakan dlam pembelajaran membaca. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 28 siswa kelas 6 SDN Buaranjati I. Data penelitian dideroleh menggunakan beberapa Teknik seperti tes, observasi, wawancara, catatan lapangan, dan dokumentasi foto. Data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Sedangkan, data kualitatif dianalisis melalui lima langkah menurut Burns (1999) yang terdiri dari mengumpulkan data; mengkode data; membandingkan data; membangun interpretasi; dan melaporkan hasilnya Temuan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa startegi KWL dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca komprehensi siswa. Peningkatan ini dapat dilihat dari peningkatan nilai pre-tes, pos-tes pertama, dan postes kedua, yaitu 66.95; 75.43, dan 80.65.Kata Kunci: K-W-L, Know – Want to Know – Learned, membaca komprehensi

    This article aims at revealing the connections between aspects of spirituality and morality which are able to present happiness and tranquility. One of them is through the approach implicitly implemented in aurad ritual, which is performed by Tijaniyyah sufi order’s congregation at Jatibarang Brebes. It has proven to breaking down the value of the community from bad to good. This phenomenological study, investigates the emergence of the congregation was caused over the human behavior decadence in the midst of modern society. System carried out by Tijaniyyah in renewing the morality of society following the manhaj of prophet Muhammad i.e. through akhlakiyah (ethic) approach. To prove the truth of this Tijaniyyah mission against the moral improvement of society, congregations do a ritual that is lazimah dan wadifah which aims at forming behavior change, especially on its followers. The results of this study show that Tijaniyyah’s congregations at Jatibarang Brebes assert the existence of a sense of serenity in their own life.     Children who commit in a criminal offense must be treated humanely in accordance with the best interests of the child means that children in conflict with the law should be restorative justice approach that should be pursued first. Indonesia already has rules to protect, prosper and fulfill the rights of children, among others Act No. 3 of 1997 on juvenile justice, Act No. 23 of 2002 on Child Protection. However, it seems not enough to bring significant changes to the fate of children in conflict with the law, and what to expect in reality often can not be implemented properly. Because outiusan judges are more punitive to the detriment of the child itself. Versioned as a form of juvenile criminal settlement through restorative justice approach needs to be taken into consideration in handling children. This concept involves all parties in order to repair the moral children so that children will no longer repeat his actions, so that children feel children aware of the law that affect the mental development of children.Keywords: Children, Diversion, Restorative Justice

    Tax Inclusion as an Effort to Increase Tax Awareness in Learning Islamic Religious Education Courses at Universitas Bina Bangsa

    This study aims to investigate tax inclusion in courses and analyze their effectiveness and impact on students. Taxes are an important aspect of a country's economy, and a good understanding of taxes is required by citizens, including students as future generations. This research will use qualitative and quantitative approaches by collecting data from students taking tax inclusion courses. Research methods include surveys, interviews, and analysis of exam results as well as assignments related to tax materials. The data will be analyzed using statistical techniques and a descriptive approach. First, this study will evaluate the effectiveness of the tax inclusion learning approach applied in the course. Effectiveness is measured based on students' understanding of tax concepts and their ability to apply that knowledge in real-life situations. Second, this study will identify the impact of tax inclusion in the course on students' social and economic perspectives. Social impacts can include their level of awareness and readiness to pay taxes as responsible citizens. The economic impact can be seen through increased understanding of personal financial management and its effect on investment and consumption. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the development of a higher education curriculum that is more relevant to the needs of the community. In addition, this research can provide input for educational institutions to improve learning approaches that are more effective and interesting in teaching tax materials
