    Adsorption of Some Alephatic Dicarboxylic Acids on Zinc Oxide: A kinetic and Thermodynamic Study

    الهدف من اجراء هذا البحث هو لدراسة ميكانيكية امتزاز حامض المالونيك، حامض السكسنيك، حامض الاديبيك، وحامض الازيلايك من محاليلها المائية على سطح أوكسيد الزنك. حيث تم دراسة كفاءة الامتزاز بالاستعانة بعدة عوامل مختلفة مثل كمية المادة المازة، زمن التماس، التركيز الابتدائي، ودرجة الحرارة. اظهرت النتائج ان الظروف المثلى اللازمة لإزالة الحوامض من محاليلها المائية هي كمية المادة المازة 0.2 غرام، وأفضل زمن للاتزان هو 40 دقيقة، والتركيز الابتدائي للحوامض كان 0.005 مولاري. كما أظهرت الدراسة ان زيادة درجة الحرارة تقلل من كفاءة الامتزاز. ومن خلال تطبيق النماذج الحركية على عملية الامتزاز وجد ان نموذج الرتبة الثانية الكاذبة يعطي علاقة خطية مع معامل ارتباط جيد. كما اشتملت الدراسة على حساب الدوال الثرموداينميكية، حيث أظهرت النتائج ان القيمة السالبة للطاقة الحرة لجبس والتغير في الانثالبي تؤكدان التلقائية والطبيعة الباعثة للحرارة لعملية الامتزاز. لقد وجد ان لاوكسيد الزنك قابلية جيدة على إزالة الحوامض الاليفاتية ثنائية الكاربوكسيل من محاليلها المائية، وان طول السلسلة للحوامض ليس له أي تأثير على امتزازها.The adsorption of Malonic acid, Succinic acid, Adipic acid, and Azelaic acid from their aqueous solutions on zinc oxide surface were investigated. The adsorption efficiency was investigated using various factors such as adsorbent amount, contact time, initial concentration, and temperature. Optimum conditions for acids removal from its aqueous solutions were found to be adsorbent dose (0.2 g), equilibrium contact time (40 minutes), initial acids concentration (0.005 M). Variation of temperature as a function of adsorption efficiency showed that increasing the temperature would result in decreasing the adsorption ability. Kinetic modeling by applying the pseudo-second order model can provide a better fit of the data with a greater correlation coefficient, which indicates that the adsorption process follow the pseudo-second order kinetics. The negative values of Gibbs free energy and the enthalpy change confirm the spontaneous and exothermic nature of the adsorption process. A good ability of zinc oxide to remove aliphatic dicarboxylic acids from its aqueous solutions has been found, and the chain length of the acids has no significant effect on its adsorption

    Eksperimentalno istraživanje seizmičkog ponašanja identičnih podsklopova greda-stup obavljeno je ispitivanjem dvaju modela spoja u mjerilu 1:2, pri čemu jedan model ima ploču, a drugi nema. Kvalitativni model kojim se simulira sudjelovanje međukatne ploče razvijen je uspostavljanjem obrazaca pojave pukotina u ploči (linija popuštanja) i stanja deformacije u armaturi ploče. Na bazi kontrolnih rezultata zaključeno je da model spoja dovodi do boljeg predviđanja seizmičkog ponašanja te da taj model omogućava eksplicitno ocjenjivanje djelovanja ploče na spoj.An experimental investigation of seismic behaviour of identical beam-column subassemblies was conducted by testing two half-scale joint models: one without a slab and the other with a slab. A qualitative model simulating participation of the floor slab was developed by establishing the slab crack patterns (yield lines) and the state of strain in slab bars. Based on the verification results, it was concluded that the joint model improves prediction of seismic behaviour, and that this model allows explicit evaluation of the slab effect on the joint

    Aims of current research to know the role of university curricula to moderate religious instruction and moral support for the students sections in Qoraan and Islamic science education from the standpoint of their teachers, the sample consisted from the faculty who are teaching curricula of Qoraan and Islamic education sections for the academic year (2015-2016) in the colleges of education for human Sciences, basic education, and education for girls), their number (29) teachers, 17 of them have a doctorate degree ,and (12) have a master's degree, in order to achieve the goal of the research; a questionnaire prepared that consisted of (33) items distributed to two fields of moderate religious guidance that includes (17) items, while the field of moral support guarantees (16) items, followed by (3) alternatives which included in the curriculum (large, medium, and low), validity and reliability has been verified, the researchers used the means statistical following: the relative weight, independent t-test, via (SPSS) statistical program, after data collection and analysis They found the following: 1. a good percentage for the role of university curricula in moderate religious instruction in sections of Qoraan and Islamic education science students from teachers viewpoint. 2. a medium ratio for the role of university curricula in moral support among Qoraan sections, and Islamic education students from teachers viewpoint. 3. There is a statistically significant difference among the views of the teaching staff for the role of university curricula in the moderate religious guidance and moral support depending on the scientific graduation.     Dentistry is a branch of medicine that is involved in the study of diagnosis, prevention and treatment of diseases disorders and conditions of the oral function. The study rummages world performances based on its publication output in Dentistry during 1999-2018 (20 years) based on several parameters including a whole country of world’s annual average growth rate of publications share and rank Relative Growth Rate (RGR). The study was carried out from Web of Science on Dentistry research at Global perspective. The maximum records published 1536 with 9.62% in 2018 out of 15970 on Dentistry research, whereas the year 1999 is marked by lowest position having 424 records. The majority of publication in Dentistry has been published in the form of Article in journals i.e. 12331 (77.21%). In this study among the top 25 authors, Lang NP is on the top position by publishing 89 articles with h-index score 26 and g-index score 59. It is identified The Four Author contribution the highest in number of publications it is recorded to 10976 (16.69%) and occupies the first rank. It could be found that the county of USA has the highest contributed 3720 articles with highest citation i.e. 58763; whereas the Indian country\u27s minimum of records published in this research was 232 (1.5%) articles. This study is based on Web of Science database. Further research using other databases like Scopus, Chemical abstract, Derwent Biotechnology Abstracts, BIOSIS and PubMed could be attempted

    Scientometric Study of the Research Performance on Oceanography: The World Perspective

    Scientometric methods and resulting citations have been applied to investigate the scientific performance of country. The study examines performance on the basis of output published in the Oceanographic Research output during the study period 2015 to 2019 at the world perspective. A total of 3212 articles were retrieved according to the selection criteria from Web of Science database. The study focuses on various aspect of the Oceanography Research such as growth of publications, prolific authors, document types and institutions involved. The highest number of publication is in the year 2016 with 1179 records, whereas the minimum records published in 2019 i.e. 370. The majority of articles were written by Chen XJ 22 articles. The USA was found to be leading the research with 1144 articles.     Gender recognition from unconstrained selfie images: a convolutional neural network approach

    Human gender recognition is an essential demographic tool. This is reflected in forensic science, surveillance systems and targeted marketing applications. This research was always driven using standard face images and hand-crafted features. Such way has achieved good results, however, the reliability of the facial images had a great effect on the robustness of extracted features, where any small change in the query facial image could change the results. Nevertheless, the performance of current techniques in unconstrained environments is still inefficient, especially when contrasted against recent breakthroughs in different computer vision research. This paper introduces a novel technique for human gender recognition from non-standard selfie images using deep learning approaches. Selfie photos are uncontrolled partial or full-frontal body images that are usually taken by people themselves in real-life environment. As far as we know this is the first paper of its kind to identify gender from selfie photos, using deep learning approach. The experimental results on the selfie dataset emphasizes the proposed technique effectiveness in recognizing gender from such images with 89% accuracy. The performance is further consolidated by testing on numerous benchmark datasets that are widely used in the field, namely: Adience, LFW, FERET, NIVE, Caltech WebFaces andCAS-PEAL-R1

    Analisis Korelasi antara Kecemasan dan Kejadian Preeklamsia pada Ibu Hamil

    Latar belakang: Preeklamsia masih menjadi tiga besar penyebab kematian ibu dalam bidang obstetri. Preeklamsia menduduki peringkat dua sebagai penyebab kematian langsung pada ibu hamil dan mengalami peningkatan setiap tahunnya. Kecemasan merupakan unsur kejiwaan yang menggambarkan perasaan, keadaan emosional yang dimiliki oleh seseorang pada saat menghadapi kenyataan atau kejadian dalam hidupnya. Hal ini meningkatkan eksresi hormon vasoaktif atau neuroendokrin lainnya yang dapat meningkatkan risiko hipertensi dan juga memicu perubahan pembuluh darah sehingga menyebabkan terjadinya preeklamsia. Metode: Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu analitik korelatif, dengan pendekatan cross sectional sebanyak 93 responden (1:2) yang dikumpulkan secara purposive sampling. Hasil: Hasil uji statistik diperoleh P-value ≤ 0,05 dan PR = 4,646 (95% CI 1,824-7,288). Kesimpulan: Pada penelitian ini terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara kecemasan dengan kejadian preeklamsia di Rumah Sakit Khusus Daerah Ibu dan Anak Pertiwi Makassar

    Keramba merupakan salah satu metode budidaya ikan yang banyak dijumpai di Jawa Timur, salah satunya terdapat di Desa Jatiguwi Sumberpucung kab. Malang yang berdekatan dengan bendungan Karangkates. Kondisi existing yang dialami masyarakat di Desa Jatiguwi yaitu sering terjadinya pencurian ikan dan Perusakan jala keramba dikarenakan tidak adanya penerangan pada malam hari. Solusi yang dibuat masyarakat setempat selama ini yaitu membuat penerangan dengan cara menarik kabel konduktor dari rumah ketengah danau sejauh 500 meter dan dijaga setiap malam. Hal tersebut jelas berbahaya apabila kabel konduktor terkelupas atau terjadi hubung singkat, sehingga dibutuhkan sistem penerangan dan proteksi keramba yang aman dan efisien. Hasil pengujian sistem terhadap blok rangkaian charging menunjukkan bahwa untuk mengisi accu dari 10,2V – 12,03V dibutuhkan waktu selama 3,5 jam dengan arus rata-rata 1,3Ah. Hasil pengujian sistem terhadap blok cuk converter menunjukkan bahwa rangkaian cuk converter mampu menaikkan dan menurunkan tegangan dengan selisih rata-rata sebesar 5,66%. Hasil pengujian keseluruhan sistem menunjukkan bahwa sistem telah bekerja dengan baik dengan mensuplai tegangan konstan rata-rata sebesar 9,8V sebagai masukan lampu LED dengan selisih rata-rata 1,95% terhadap tegangan acuan. Energi total yang dibutuhkan sistem dalam satu hari sebesar 4,9Ah
