Nephroprotective effect polyphenols from trnina flower affect markers of oxidative stress in mouse
Djelovanje visoko-proteinske dijete (Whey protein) i polifenola izoliranih iz cvijeta trnine (TC) istraženo je na laboratorijskim životinjama (C57BL6 miÅ”) kroz 30 dana tretmana. Životinje su bile podijeljene u 4 grupe: grupa I ā kontrolna grupa; grupa II ā TC (ekstrakt cvijeta trnine); grupa III ā WP (Whey protein) i grupa IV ā WP+TC. Istraživani biomarkeri oksidacijskog stresa u homogenatu tkiva bubrega bili su malondialdehid (MDA), karbonilirani proteini (PC), reducirani glutation (GSH), superoksid dismutaza (SOD) i katalaza (CAT). The effect of high-protein diet (Whey protein) and polyphenols which are isolated from trnina flower (TC) has been investigated in laboratory animals (C57BL6 mouse). The animals were treated for 30 days and divided into 4 groups: group I - control group; Group II - TC (Flower Extract Trnine); Group III - WP (Whey protein) and Group IV - WP + TC. Biomarkers of oxidative stress which were studied in kidney tissue homogenates were malondialdehyde (MDA), carbonylated proteins (PC), reduced glutathione (GSH), superoksid dismutase (SOD) and catalase (CAT). The results show that TC statistically significant (ANOVA, p <0.05) reduced the activity of MDA and PC in the kidney of a mouse which were compared with control group of animals. That effect can be attributed with polyphenols present in the extract of trnina flowers. The other groups were unchanged and close to control group. The concentrations of GSH, SOD and CAT were statistically significant (ANOVA, p <0.05) increased in all groups of mouses compared with control group, which indicates the antioxidant effect of TC and WP and reducing oxidative stress. These results indicate that the extract of a trnina flower and whey proteins increase endogenous antioxidant enzymes and reduce oxidative stress
Recommendations for Diagnosis, Prevention and Treatment of Cytomegalovirus in Solid Organ Transplant Recipients
Preporuke su prvenstveno posveÄene suvremenom pristupu dijagnozi CMV infekcije, moguÄnostima lijeÄenja novim antivirusnim lijekovima i naÄinima lijeÄenja rezistentne/refraktorne CMV bolesti.Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection remains one of the most common complications in solid organ transplant recipients. It is associated with an increased risk of different complications, including graft loss and mortality. A multidisciplinary panel of solid organ transplant experts gathered to revise and adopt consensus recommendations on CMV diagnostics, prevention, and treatment. Recommendations focus on the current approach to diagnosing CMV infection, different methods of prevention, possibilities of treatment with novel antiviral therapies, and approaches to treating resistant/refractory disease
