The Concertino for Piano and Chamber Orchestra, by Brazilian nationalist composer Mozart Camargo Guarnieri (1907-1993), is one of his ten works for piano and orchestra. The work is cast in three movements in sonata, ternary, and rondo forms respectively, and contains elements of Brazilian folk music. It is possibly the most appealing work by Guarnieri in this medium, and it has been performed by artists of the caliber of Laís de Souza Brasil, Joo Carlos Martins, Roberto Szidon, and Caio Pagano. It dates from 1961, and like most of the other works by Guarnieri in this genre, its scores have not been edited yet. The full score and the orchestral reduction remain in their original manuscript format, and, for all practical purposes, unavailable, especially outside Brazil. Although the original piano solo/orchestral reduction score uses the conventional disposition of two parallel grand staves, with the orchestral reduction written on the lower grand staff, below the solo part, the writing of the orchestral part is not suitable for performance with a second piano by a single player. It simply provides the soloist with a compressed view of the orchestral part, in which the notes are spread beyond reach for two hands. This edition addresses this issue by including a piano arrangement of the orchestral part that can be played by one person. The author also addresses editorial issues and reports inconsistencies or discrepancies encountered between the two autograph sources in a section apart from the musical score. A brief introduction provides biographical information of the composer and analytical description of the work

The duties of District Corregidors are described in its respective title of the Kingdom’s Ordinances. In spite of the fact that their fundamental action was carried out within the scope of the administration of justice, one can neither ignore nor underestimate its municipal management surveillance role in the municipalities of their District. Therefore, within this framework, one of the obligations of the Corregidors in each of the municipalities was their annual visit. The Auditor Magistrates in the Donee Lands had the same annual visit obligation. In this essay, one studies precisely the historical reach of the Corregidors’ visits that took place in the municipality of Vila da Feira, Feira County, between 1745 and 1766, and its influx in the municipal governance

The approach to a Historical theme by the investigator will be as richer and attractive as more information is collected. If for each subject there are documental series that immediately and naturally are imposed, there are other sources that although apparently have nothing to do with the inquired matter, in the end show that they contain very important data about it. The historian of the Douro cultivation wine will get advantage from the use of all the data contained in the statements made by the Priests of the Portuguese Kingdom in 1758, kept in the National Archive of Torre do Tombo under the designation of Dicionário Geográfico and usually known as Parochial Memories. For this communication only the assertions respecting to the Região Demarcada do Douro (Demarcated Region of the Douro) were used. The Parochial Memories revealed themselves of extreme importance in the answers to three kinds of questions: a comparative study of the importance of the vineyard in the several parishes of the region and its relation with other cultivations, the question of the precocity (yes or no) of the monoculture in the Douro and finally the importance of the wine in the parochial incomes. These selected questions do not exhaust the potential of the information contained in the Memories
