EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES OF PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION IN TILTING PAD THRUST BEARING WITH SINGLE CONTINUOUS SURFACE PROFILED SECTOR SHAPED PADS

    Get PDF
The effect of the film shape on the load carrying capacity of a hydrodynamically lubricated bearing has not been considered an important factor in the past. Flat faced tapered bearing and the Raileigh\u27s step bearing of constant film thickness have been the primary forms of film shapes for slider bearing studies and design data developments. There are indications in the literature that surface profiling/texturing can have significant and positive influence on the load carrying capacity of hydrodynamic pad thrust bearings. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to compare the experimental results of pressure temperature distributions in slider bearing with flat surface and with different single continuous surface profiled (Cycloidal,Catenoidal,Quadratic) sector shaped pads. Pressure results presented in this paper can provide a platform for validation of theoretical models. An experimental study has been performed to investigate the influence of single continuous surface profiled sector shaped pads in tilting pad thrust bearing. It has been found that with cycloidal shaped surface profiled sector shaped pads the pressure generated within fluid film is enhanced which in turn causes enhancement in load bearing capacity of hydrodynamic bearing

Nanorobotics is the technology of producing robots or machines with very small scale or Miniscale of a nanometer (10-9 meters), machines constructed at the molecular level (Nano machines) may Be used to detect or identify and cure the human body of its various diseases like cancer. Nano robots are Very good accuracy they perform a specific task with great accuracy and precision at very small scale or Nanoscale dimension. A recent discovery in the field of drug Delivery is target therapy, which improves the diagnostic tests and Medical devices. Nanotechnology is going to revolutionize the world. According to the National Nanotechnology Initiative (NNI). Nowadays these nano robots play a vital role in the field of Bio Medicine. In the pharma-world, the applications of Nanotechnology mean drugs containing nano-sized active ingredients. They are well used to cure HIV, Cancer, Surgery, Bloodstream, gene therapy, Kidney stone removal and other harmful disease they Can restore lost tissue at the cellular level, useful for monitoring, Diagnosing and fighting sickness. The main purpose is to cure many dreadful Diseases in human body

Vibrating Winding Branes, Wrapping Democracy and Stabilization of Extra Dimensions in Dilaton Gravity

We show that, in the context of dilaton gravity, a recently proposed democratic principle for intersection possibilities of branes winding around extra dimensions yield stabilization, even with the inclusion of momentum modes of the wrapped branes on top of the winding modes. The constraints for stabilization massaged by string theory inputs forces the number of observed dimensions to be three. We also discuss consequences of adding ordinary matter living in the observed dimensions.Comment: Added a section discussing the linear and non-linear stability of the equilibrium point of the scale factors of the extra dimensions. Corrected a typo in the original field equations and other typos. Added and changed references. Final version appeared in JHE

T and S dualities and The cosmological evolution of the dilaton and the scale factors

Cosmologically stabilizing radion along with the dilaton is one of the major concerns of low energy string theory. One can hope that T and S dualities can provide a plausible answer. In this work we study the impact of S and T duality invariances on dilaton gravity. We have shown various instances where physically interesting models arise as a result of imposing the mentioned invariances. In particular S duality has a very privileged effect in that the dilaton equations partially decouple from the evolution of the scale factors. This makes it easy to understand the general rules for the stabilization of the dilaton. We also show that certain T duality invariant actions become S duality invariance compatible. That is they mimic S duality when extra dimensions stabilize.Comment: Corrected a misleading interpretation of the S duality transformation and a wrong comment on d=10. I thank A.Kaya for pointing this out to me in time. So the new version is dealing with d=10 only. Added references and corrected some typos. Minor re-editing. Omitted a section for elaboration in a further study. Corrected further typo

Review on Therapeutic Uses of Mimosa Pudica (Touch-me-not) Plant

The prostrate or semi-erect subshrub Mimosa pudica L. (Mimosacee), referred to as touch me not, live and die, shame plant, and humble plant, is indigenous to North and South America as well as Australia. They are delicate soft grey green leaves that fold and droop at night or when handled and chilled, and they are thickly equipped with recurved thorns in India. Its peculiar bending behaviors have given it the nickname "curiosity plant." According to Ayurveda, the root of this plant is bitter, acrid, cooling, vulnerary, and alexipharmic. Leprosy, dysentery, vaginal and uterine complaints, inflammations, burning sensations, asthma, leucoderma, tiredness, and blood disorders are among the conditions it is used to treat. It appears to be a prospective herbal candidate deserving of further research, as shown by its pharmacological profile Numerous illnesses, including cancer, diabetes, hepatitis, obesity, and urinary infections, are also prevented or treated using mimosa pudica. It predominantly contains pharmacological activities that include antibacterial, antivenom, antitertility, anticonvulsant, depressant, aphrodisiac, and others. The plant has been used to treat urogenital issues for ages

D0 Matrix Mechanics: New Fuzzy Solutions at Large N

We wish to consider in this report the large N limit of a particular matrix model introduced by Myers describing D-brane physics in the presence of an RR flux background. At finite N, fuzzy spheres appear naturally as non-trivial solutions to this matrix model and have been extensively studied. In this report, we wish to demonstrate several new classes of solutions which appear in the large N limit, corresponding to the fuzzy cylinder, the fuzzy plane and a warped fuzzy plane. The latter two solutions arise from a possible "central extension" to our model that arises after we account for non-trivial issues involved in the large N limit. As is the case for finite N, these new solutions are to be interpreted as constituent D0-branes forming D2 bound states describing new fuzzy geometries.Comment: revised version: references added, derivation of "central extensions" improved upon. To appear in JHE
