Change in blood glucose level in rats after immobilization

Experiments were carried out on male white rats divided into four groups. In group one the blood glucose level was determined immediately after immobilization. In the other three groups, two hours following immobilization, the blood glucose level was determined every 20 minutes for 3 hours 40 minutes by the glucose oxidase method. Preliminary immobilization for 2 hours removed the increase in the blood glucose caused by the stress reaction. By the 2nd hour of immobilization in the presence of continuing stress, the blood glucose level stabilized and varied within 42 + or - 5.5 and 47 + or - 8.1 mg %. Within 2 hours after the immobilization, the differences in the blood glucose level of the rats from the control groups were statistically insignificant

Electrospun formulations of acyclovir, ciprofloxacin and cyanocobalamin for ocular drug delivery

Two series of fibers containing the active ingredients acyclovir, ciprofloxacin and cyanocobalamin, and combinations of these drugs, were prepared by electrospinning. One set used the hydrophilic poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) as the filament-forming polymer, while the other used the slow-dissolving poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL). The fibers were found to have cylindrical morphologies, although there was evidence for solvent occlusion with the PVP systems and for some drug particles in the PCL case. The active ingredients were generally present in the amorphous physical form in the case of PVP, but evidence of crystallinity was observed with PCL. The existence of intermolecular interactions between the drugs and polymers was proven using simple molecular modeling calculations. Drug release from the various fibers was tested in a validated in vitro outflow model of the eye, and the fiber formulations found to be capable of extending drug release. We thus conclude that electrospun matrices such as those prepared in this work have potential for use as intravitreal implants

AFRICAN SWINE FEVER EPIDEMIC IN 2007–2017 PART 1. COMMON TRENDS FOR ASF IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION AND IN EURASIA

Results of retrospective analysis of African swine fever epidemic situation in the Russian Federation including analysis of the epidemic chronology indicating significant events of the disease spread across the country territory are presented. Common ASF epidemic trend and rate in 2007–2017 in Eurasia territory based on number of infected countries (1.273 ± 1.272 countries/year) and in Russian Federation Subjects (4.5 ± 2.3 Subjects/year) are shown. The paper also addresses some peculiarities of the epidemic process depending on the season of a year. Possible social and biological factors contributing to the epidemic spread are examined. Necessity of further search for probable biological vector and examination of social factors that could contribute to the disease maintenance in wild life and in domestic pigs in the Russian Federation and Eastern European countries are discussed

Методы расчёта численности населения при транспортном моделировании

The article discusses the problem of choosing a method for calculating the population size for feasibility studies in transport modelling of the design road network of cities in the northern regions of the Russian Federation, using the example of the city of Novy Urengoy. The objective of the study is to determine the optimal method for forecasting the population size to obtain initial data for transport modelling. During development of feasibility studies for the city of Novy Urengoy, features of the demographic structure of the northern cities of the Russian Federation affecting the choice of the method for forecasting the population size were identified. Based on the theoretical analysis of scientific literature, the article discusses various methods of calculating the population, analyses the relationship of the existing demographic structure and its influence on the methods of forecasting the population size for transport modelling. In the context of aggravation of demographic problems of the Russian Federation, it is important to assess the regional features of the prospects for changing the population size. The article suggests recommendations on the use of the method of forecasting the population size, considering regional features of cities founded in 20th century because of development of mineral deposits in the northern regions of the Russian Federation.В статье рассматривается проблема выбора метода расчёта численности населения для технико-экономических обоснований при транспортном моделировании проектной дорожной сети городов северных регионов Российской Федерации на примере города Новый Уренгой. Цель исследования – определить оптимальный метод прогноза численности населения для получения исходных данных транспортного моделирования. При разработке технико-экономических обоснований города Новый Уренгой выявлен ряд особенностей демографической структуры северных городов РФ, которые влияют на выбор метода прогноза численности населения. На основе теоретического анализа научной литературы в статье рассмотрены различные методы расчёта населения, проанализированы взаимосвязь существующей демографической структуры и её влияние на методы прогноза численности населения для транспортного моделирования. В условиях обострения демографических проблем РФ актуально оценивать региональные особенности перспектив изменения численности населения. В статье даны рекомендации по использованию метода прогноза численности населения с учётом региональной специфики городов, образованных в ХХ веке в связи с разработкой месторождений полезных ископаемых в северных регионах РФ

A series of 6-fluoroaryl substituted [1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-A]pyrimidines have been synthesized by using the microwave-Assisted Suzuki cross-coupling reaction from readily available 6-bromo-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-A]pyrimidine. Classical swine fever: retrospective analysis of epidemic situation in Russian Federation (1996-2015)

Progress trends in classical swine fever (CSF) epidemic situation in the Russian Federation in 1996-2015 are discussed in the paper. Spatial shift of CSF outbreaks from the central regions of the country (2007-2012) to the western and eastern border regions of the Russian Federation (2013-2015) has been confirmed. Based on the analysis, a short-term prognosis for 2016 has been made as well as recommendations on DIVA-based measures for CSF eradication in domestic pigs and wild boars in the RF have been provided

Studying of the Polylactide or Polyglycylidactide Surface Layer Biodegradation in Neutral Media for the Subsequent Layered Composite Creation

  The processes of biodegradation in phosphate buffer with pH 7.4 and 0.9 wt.% NaCl of polymer polylactide or polyglycylidactide films for the subsequent creation of a layered composite with a biodegradable layer on the basis of a nickel-free shape memory alloy TiNbTaZr were studied. The structure of the samples was determined by SEM and an optical microscope. For polylactide films the rate of biodegradation did not depend on the mass of the film. A gradual decrease in the rate of biodegradation at any mass with a similar dependence on time is noted. With an increase in the mass of films based on poly(glycolide-lactide) the rate of biodegradation increased. And even at the initial stage the dissolution rate is 2-3 times higher than in pure polylactide. On day 180, complete dissolution of the polyglycolidelactide was observed (even a precipitate was not observed) and completely entire polylactide films, however, lost  their transparency, was noted
