Preparation of a ZrO₂-Al₂O₃ Nanocomposite by High-Pressure Sintering of Spray-Pyrolyzed Powders
ZrO2-Al2O3 powders were synthesized by spray pyrolysis. These powders were sintered at 1 GPa in the temperature range of 700Ç1100 ÉC. The microstructural evolution and densification are reported in this paper. The application of 1 GPa pressure lowers the crystallization temperature from ~850 to 700 ÉC. Similarly, the transformation temperature under 1 GPa pressure for \u3c\u3eg ê a Al2O3 reduces from ~1100 to 700Ç800 ÉC range, and that for t \u3c\u3eê m ZrO2 reduces from ~1050 to 700Ç800 ÉC range. It was possible to ob-tain highly-dense nanocrystalline ZrO2-Al2O3 composite at temperatures as low as 700 ÉC. The effect of high pressure on nucleation and transformation of phases is discussed
Identification of mixed-symmetry states in an odd-mass nearly-spherical nucleus
The low-spin structure of 93Nb has been studied using the (n,n' gamma)
reaction at neutron energies ranging from 1.5 to 3.0 MeV and the 94Zr(p,2n
gamma)93Nb reaction at bombarding energies from 11.5 to 19 MeV. States at
1779.7 and 1840.6 keV, respectively, are proposed as mixed-symmetry states
associated with the coupling of a proton hole in the p_1/2 orbit to the 2+_1,ms
state in 94Mo. These assignments are derived from the observed M1 and E2
transition strengths to the symmetric one-phonon states, energy systematics,
spins and parities, and comparison with shell model calculations.Comment: 5 pages, 3 figure
CaracterÃstica de la preparación del personal para la gestión de conflictos en la organización
The analysis of the personnel competence, reflected in the professional standards, allows us to identify the main areas of training that have a positive impact on the challenges of the external environment. At the same time, employees of the organization, as a rule, have different professional training and practical experience. From this perspective, the phenomenon of in-house training of the personnel is updated, under which the training is carried out on the basis of the organization and aimed at achieving the objectives to develop it. Communication, as a mechanism of using communicative skills that can have both positive and negative effects, occupies a leading position in the professional activities of the personnel. Thus, it is connected, in most cases, with conflicts, in particular, the lack of personnel preparedness and readiness to manage them. Researchers are actively engaged in finding the ways to prevent and resolve conflicts, using various forms of post-graduate training, including in-house training of adult audience.
Food Acceptability in Field Studies with US Army Men and Women: Relationship with Food Intake and Food Choice After Repeated Exposures
Laboratory data with single exposures showed that palatability has a positive relationship with food intake. The question addressed in this study is whether this relationship also holds over repeated exposures in non-laboratory contexts in more natural environments. The data were collected in four field studies, lasting 4–11 days with 307 US Army men and 119 Army women, and comprised 5791 main meals and 8831 snacks in total. Acceptability was rated on the nine point hedonic scale, and intake was registered in units of 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, or 1 or more times of the provided portion size. Correlation coefficients between individual acceptability ratings and intakes varied from 0.22 to 0.62 for the main meals (n=193–2267), and between 0.13 and 0.56 for the snacks (n=304–2967). The likelihood of choosing a meal for the second time was positively related to the acceptability rating of the meal when it was consumed for the first time. The results reinforce the importance of liking in food choice and food intake/choice behavior. However, the magnitude of the correlation coefficients between acceptability ratings and food intake suggest that environmental factors also have an important role in determining intake and choice

A whole-rock data set for the Skaergaard intrusion, East Greenland
We report a compilation of new and published whole-rock major and trace element analyses for 646 samples of the Skaergaard intrusion, East Greenland. The samples were collected in 14 stratigraphic profiles either from accessible and well-exposed surface areas or from drill core, and they cover most regions of the intrusion. This includes the Layered Series, the Upper Border Series, the Marginal Border Series and the Sandwich Horizon. The geochemical data were obtained by a combination of X-ray fluorescence and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. This data set can, for example, be used to constrain processes of igneous differentiation and ore formation.
Beta-decay of Mn-65 to Fe-65
The low energy structure of Fe-65 has been studied by means of gamma- and
fast-timing spectroscopy. A level scheme of Fe-65 populated following the
beta-decay of Mn-65 was established for the first time. It includes 41 levels
and 85 transitions. The excitation energy of the beta-decaying isomer in Fe-65
has been precisely determined at 393.7(2) keV. The beta delayed neutron
emission branch was measured as Pn = 7.9(12)%, which cannot be reconciled with
the previously reported value of 21.0(5)%. Four gamma-rays and four excited
states in Fe-64 were identified as being populated following the beta-n decay.
Four lifetimes and five lifetime limits in the subnanosecond range have been
measured using the Advanced Time-Delayed Method. The level scheme is compared
with shell-model calculations. Tentative spin and parity assignments are
proposed based on the observed transition rates, the calculations and the
systematics of the region.Comment: Accepted in Physical Review
