Cluster and nebular properties of the central star-forming region of NGC 1140
We present new high spatial resolution HST/ACS imaging of NGC 1140 and high
spectral resolution VLT/UVES spectroscopy of its central star-forming region.
The central region contains several clusters, the two brightest of which are
clusters 1 and 6 from Hunter, O'Connell & Gallagher, located within
star-forming knots A and B, respectively. Nebular analysis indicates that the
knots have an LMC-like metallicity of 12 + log(O/H) = 8.29 +/- 0.09. According
to continuum subtracted H alpha ACS imaging, cluster 1 dominates the nebular
emission of the brighter knot A. Conversely, negligible nebular emission in
knot B originates from cluster 6. Evolutionary synthesis modelling implies an
age of 5 +/- 1 Myr for cluster 1, from which a photometric mass of (1.1 +/-
0.3) x 10^6 Msun is obtained. For this age and photometric mass, the modelling
predicts the presence of ~5900 late O stars within cluster 1. Wolf-Rayet
features are observed in knot A, suggesting 550 late-type WN and 200 early-type
WC stars. Therefore, N(WR)/N(O) ~ 0.1, assuming that all the WR stars are
located within cluster 1. The velocity dispersions of the clusters were
measured from constituent red supergiants as sigma ~ 23 +/- 1 km/s for cluster
1 and sigma ~ 26 +/- 1 km/s for cluster 6. Combining sigma with half-light
radii of 8 +/- 2 pc and 6.0 +/- 0.2 pc measured from the F625W ACS image
implies virial masses of (10 +/- 3) x 10^6 Msun and (9.1 +/- 0.8) x 10^6 Msun
for clusters 1 and 6, respectively. The most likely reason for the difference
between the dynamical and photometric masses of cluster 1 is that the velocity
dispersion of knot A is not due solely to cluster 1, as assumed, but has an
additional component associated with cluster 2.Comment: 13 pages, 7 figure
Weak formulation for singular diffusion equation with dynamic boundary condition
In this paper, we propose a weak formulation of the singular diffusion
equation subject to the dynamic boundary condition. The weak formulation is
based on a reformulation method by an evolution equation including the
subdifferential of a governing convex energy. Under suitable assumptions, the
principal results of this study are stated in forms of Main Theorems A and B,
which are respectively to verify: the adequacy of the weak formulation; the
common property between the weak solutions and those in regular problems of

Model for web-application based configuration of modular production plants with automated PLC line control code generation
The international competition leads manufacturers in high-wage countries to focus more on high-value products, which often come at the disadvantage of small batch sizes. To remain competitive, the plant engineering for should be time and cost effective. One approach to achieve this are modular production lines. In the presented contribution, a product orientated web- service for the configuration of a modular production plant investigated. The resulting model then is interpreted by a code generator to generate a PLC line control. The approach is validated with a plant of metal hybrid carbon fiber seat rests
Two Approaches to Dislocation Nucleation in the Supported Heteroepitaxial Equilibrium Islanding Phenomenon
We study the dislocation formation in 2D nanoscopic islands with two methods,
the Molecular Static method and the Phase Field Crystal method. It is found
that both methods indicate the same qualitative stages of the nucleation
process. The dislocations nucleate at the film-substrate contact point and the
energy decreases monotonously when the dislocations are farther away from the
island-wetting film contact points than the distance of the highest energy

Clinical Profile and Management of Patient Patients with Ischemic Heart Disease and/or Peripheral Artery Disease in Clinical Practice : The APALUSA Study
Altres ajuts: Bayer Hispania S.L.This study was aimed to ascertain the clinical profile and management of patients with ischemic heart disease (IHD) and/or peripheral artery disease (PAD). In this observational and cross-sectional study developed in 80 hospitals throughout Spain, consecutive adults with stable IHD and/or PAD were included. A total of 1089 patients were analyzed, of whom 65.3% had only IHD, 17.8% PAD and 16.9% both. A total of 80.6% were taking only one antiplatelet agent, and 18.2% were on dual antiplatelet therapy (mainly aspirin/clopidogrel). Almost all patients were taking 1 lipid lowering drug, mainly moderate-to-high intensity statins. IHD patients took ezetimibe more commonly than PAD (43.9% vs. 12.9%; p < 0.001). There were more patients with IHD that achieved blood pressure targets compared to PAD (<140/90 mmHg: 67.9% vs. 43.0%; p < 0.001; <130/80 mmHg: 34.1% vs. 15.7%; p < 0.001), LDL-cholesterol (<70 mg/dL: 53.1% vs. 41.5%; p = 0.033; <55 mg/dL: 26.5% vs. 16.0%; p = 0.025), and diabetes (HbA1c < 7%, with SGLT2i/GLP1-RA: 21.7% vs. 8.8%; p = 0.032). Modifications of antihypertensive agents and lipid-lowering therapy were performed in 69.0% and 82.3% of patients, respectively, without significant differences between groups. The use of SGLT2i/GLP1-RA was low. In conclusion, cardiovascular risk factors control remains poor among patients with IHD, PAD, or both. A higher use of combined therapy is warranted
{Rearrangement of the antiferromagnetic ordering at high magnetic fields in SmFeAsO and SmFeAsOF single crystals
The low-temperature antiferromagnetic state of the Sm-ions in both
nonsuperconducting SmFeAsO and superconducting SmFeAsOF single
crystals was studied by magnetic torque, magnetization, and magnetoresistance
measurements in magnetic fields up to 60~T and temperatures down to 0.6~K. We
uncover in both compounds a distinct rearrangement of the antiferromagnetically
ordered Sm-moments near ~T. This is seen in both, static and pulsed
magnetic fields, as a sharp change in the sign of the magnetic torque, which is
sensitive to the magnetic anisotropy and hence to the magnetic moment in the
-plane, ({\it i.e.} the FeAs-layers), and as a jump in the magnetization
for magnetic fields perpendicular to the conducting planes. This rearrangement
of magnetic ordering in ~T is essentially temperature independent and
points towards a canted or a partially polarized magnetic state in high
magnetic fields. However, the observed value for the saturation moment above
this rearrangement, suggests that the complete suppression of the
antiferromagnetism related to the Sm-moments would require fields in excess of
60~T. Such a large field value is particularly remarkable when compared to the
relatively small N\'{e}el temperature ~K, suggesting very
anisotropic magnetic exchange couplings. At the transition, magnetoresistivity
measurements show a crossover from positive to negative field-dependence,
indicating that the charge carriers in the FeAs planes are sensitive to the
magnetic configuration of the rare-earth elements. This is indicates a finite
magnetic/electronic coupling between the SmO and the FeAs layers which are
likely to mediate the exchange interactions leading to the long range

Preventing infectious complications when treating non-malignant immune-mediated hematologic disorders
Immunosuppressants, targeted antibody therapies, and surgical splenectomy are amongst the treatment choices for immune-mediated non-malignant hematologic disorders, with infection being the most common non-hematological adverse event from these therapies. Corticosteroids are associated with a length-of-treatment and dose-dependent risk for infection, including opportunistic infections. Screening and antimicrobial prophylaxis against tuberculosis, Strongyloides stercoralis, and Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia, are indicated in selected patients on steroids and with certain risk factors for infection. Rituximab is associated with hepatitis B virus reactivation. All patients planned to be started on rituximab should be screened for hepatitis B surface antigen and total core antibody, with antiviral prophylaxis given depending on test results. In eculizumab treated patients, immunization against meningococcal serogroups ACWY and B is recommended. In addition, some guidelines suggest antibiotic prophylaxis for the duration of eculizumab treatment. In splenectomized patients, counseling and immunization are cornerstones of infection prevention. Several federal and society guidelines about immunizations and prophylactic antimicrobial therapies for patients treated with various immunosuppressive agents exist and are summarized in this manuscript in a clinical-focused table. In addition, management suggestions are made where no formal guidelines exist
Keep it SMPL: Automatic Estimation of 3D Human Pose and Shape from a Single Image
We describe the first method to automatically estimate the 3D pose of the
human body as well as its 3D shape from a single unconstrained image. We
estimate a full 3D mesh and show that 2D joints alone carry a surprising amount
of information about body shape. The problem is challenging because of the
complexity of the human body, articulation, occlusion, clothing, lighting, and
the inherent ambiguity in inferring 3D from 2D. To solve this, we first use a
recently published CNN-based method, DeepCut, to predict (bottom-up) the 2D
body joint locations. We then fit (top-down) a recently published statistical
body shape model, called SMPL, to the 2D joints. We do so by minimizing an
objective function that penalizes the error between the projected 3D model
joints and detected 2D joints. Because SMPL captures correlations in human
shape across the population, we are able to robustly fit it to very little
data. We further leverage the 3D model to prevent solutions that cause
interpenetration. We evaluate our method, SMPLify, on the Leeds Sports,
HumanEva, and Human3.6M datasets, showing superior pose accuracy with respect
