Spiritualitas Dan Seni Islam Menurut Sayyed Hossein Nasr (Spirituality and Islamic Art According to Sayyed Hossein Nasr)

Seni bukan untuk seni sendiri. Tidak ada istilah I'art pour I'art.

The necessity to always use a mask in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic has given rise to a new term called maskne. Maskne is the appearance of acne that is triggered by wearing a mask. It usually occurs specifically in the area covered by the mask, focused on the cheeks, chin, and nose. This study aims to determine the risk factors associated with the occurrence of maskne. A cross-sectional study was conducted on the Faculty of Medicine students, Universitas Sumatera Utara class 2018. This study uses primary data from questionnaires and observation of respondents' face photos. Based on statistical analysis, 99 out of 221 respondents (44.8%) experienced maskne. Bivariate analysis shows p-values <0.05  for gender, duration of mask use, and previous acne history. On the other hand, it was obtained p-value >0.05 for the type of mask and mask changing habit. Based on multivariate analysis, the p-value <0.05 for gender indicates that gender is the most dominant risk factor in the incidence of maskne. Furthermore, there is a significant association between gender and the occurrence of maskne. Females are twice as likely to experience maskne

Optimized intermolecular potential for nitriles based on Anisotropic United Atoms model

    Get PDF
An extension of the Anisotropic United Atoms intermolecular potential model is proposed for nitriles. The electrostatic part of the intermolecular potential is calculated using atomic charges obtained by a simple Mulliken population analysis. The repulsion-dispersion interaction parameters for methyl and methylene groups are taken from transferable AUA4 literature parameters [Ungerer et al., J. Chem. Phys., 2000, 112, 5499]. Non-bonding Lennard-Jones intermolecular potential parameters are regressed for the carbon and nitrogen atoms of the nitrile group (–C≡N) from experimental vapor-liquid equilibrium data of acetonitrile. Gibbs Ensemble Monte Carlo simulations and experimental data agreement is very good for acetonitrile, and better than previous molecular potential proposed by Hloucha et al. [J. Chem. Phys., 2000, 113, 5401]. The transferability of the resulting potential is then successfully tested, without any further readjustment, to predict vapor-liquid phase equilibrium of propionitrile and n-butyronitrile

Contamination of Sachet Water in Nigeria: Assessment and Health Impact

    Get PDF
Adequate supply of fresh and clean drinking water is a basic need for all human beings. Water consumers are frequently unaware of the potential health risks associated with exposure to water borne contaminants which have often led to diseases like diarrhoea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid fever, legionnaire’s disease and parasitic diseases. The inadequacy of pipe borne water-supply in Nigeria is a growing problem; as a result people resort to buying water from vendors, and sachet or bottled water became a major source of drinking water. Although, portable and affordable, the problems of its purity and other health concerns have begun to manifest. Sachet water have been reported to contain bacteria such as Bacillus sp., Pseudomonas sp., Klebsiella sp., Streptococcus sp., and oocysts of Cryptosporidia sp. Apart from environmental contaminants, improper storage and handling by vendors also poses a serious threat to the health of the ignorant consumers. This paper tends to review the quality of these ‘pure water’; its physical examination, microbial assessments, its impacts on health, and the various strategies adopted by the concerned authorities to regulate this thriving industry

Design strategies in hospital pharmacy department: Mapping a medication system

    Get PDF
Pharmacy departments are technical and administrative units in hospitals that relate to several other departments, and thus they have a strategic status on supervising the medication system. The hospital pharmacy department has an important role on patient safety, as it can work on error prevention, avoiding mistakes on the process. If there are no precautions implemented on medication system, there will be greater risk of errors, which could unavoidably harm the patient’s health. In this context, this article reports a research applied on a psychiatric hospital in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The following issue was the starting point of the research: how is the configuration of the medication system in this hospital? The objective was to analyze the system, through mapping, in order to identify strategic opportunities for design. Results demonstrate that the medication system is integrated to the pharmacy, and depends on it. Results also suggests that strategic design interventions on storage, fractionation, separation and dispensation of drugs could contribute to the safety of the system as a whole. Keywords: strategic design, hospital pharmacy department, medication system, error prevention

Background: For T lymphocytes to get optimally activated, they need costimulatory signals that can be provided efficiently by costimulatory molecules CD80 and CD86Objective: This study was done to assess the expression of costimulatory molecules CD80 and CD86 on T lymphocytes and monocytes of asthmatic children. The effect of clinical grading of asthma and intake of inhaled steroids on the level of their expression was assessed. Methods: The study included 44 asthmatics (12 with acute asthma and 32 in between attacks) and 12 controls. The asthmatic children were classified according to clinical severity into mild (15 cases), moderate (9 cases) and severe (8 cases). Flow cytometry was performed to analyze the expression of CD80 and CD86 on blood T lymphocytes and monocytesResults: The percentage of expression of costimulatory molecules CD80 and CD86 on T lymphocytes and monocytes were statistically higher in asthmatic children whether in acute or in between attacks compared to the control group (p<0.05). This up regulation suggests their critical role in pathogenesis of bronchial allergic inflammation in asthma. The percentage of expression of CD80 and CD86 on monocytes were significantly higher in asthmatics during their acute exacerbations compared to those in between attacks (p<0.05). Comparing the clinical subgroups of asthma, there was no statistically significant difference between mild and moderate asthmatics as regards level of co-expression (p > 0.05); however the difference was statistically significant between mild and severe cases (p <0.05).  Asthmatics on inhaled steroids showed significant lower percentage of CD80 and CD86 expression on T lymphocytes and monocytes. Conclusion: The enhanced expression of both CD80 and CD86 on antigenpresenting cells and T lymphocytes in bronchial asthma is probably  involved in the establishment and maintenance of chronic inflammation of the airways.Key words: Asthma, T lymphocytes, Costimulation, CD80 and CD86
