    Simulation and Hardware Implementation of Shunt Active Power Filter Based on Synchronous Reference Frame Theory

    This paper describes about the Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) for the elimination of the current harmonics in the line side. The Active Power Filter is based on the Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) topology. The Synchronous Reference Frame (SRF) theory based control strategy is utilized for SAPF. The SAPF has the better performance for compensation of harmonics. The simulation of shunt active power filter is performed in MATLAB/Simulink. The SAPF is implemented in hardware protptype with ATMEGA 8 Microcontroller. The Simulation and Hardware result shows that the current harmonics are eliminated in the system

    Consumers are the most important asset of any organization. The commercial activity of an organization booms with the presence of a loyal customer who is visibly content with the product and services being offered. In a dynamic market, understanding variations in client’s behavior can help executives establish operative promotional campaigns. A good number of new consumers are frequently picked up by traders during promotions. Though, several of these engrossed consumers are one-time deal seekers, the promotions undeniably leave a positive impact on sales. It is crucial for traders to identify who can be converted to loyal consumer and then have them patronize products and services to reduce the promotion cost and increase the return on investments. This study integrates a classifier that allows prediction of the type of purchase that a customer would make, as well as the number of visits that he/she would make during a year. The proposed model also creates outlines of users and brands or items used by them. These outlines may not be useful only for this particular prediction task, but could also be used for other important tasks in e-commerce, such as client segmentation, product recommendation and client base growth for brands

    A Compact High Sensitive D Shape Surface Plasmon Sensor

    483-4892021In this paper, we numerically design a refractive index-based surface plasmon fiber sensor by exploiting the optical characteristics of a commercially available side polished D-shaped photonic crystal fiber (PCF) using finite element method. The proposed sensor could work in the infrared regime for a wide range of analytes with refractive indices ranging from 1.33 to 1.36. The proposed sensor exhibits a maximum sensitivity of 31,800 nm/RIU with a resolution of 3.14×10-6 RIU when the refractive index is varied from 1.355 to 1.36. Further, considering the practical implementation, we carry out the fabrication tolerance of ± 5% of the proposed sensor by varying the optimized structural parameters. Based on the numerical results, we find that the proposed sensor is highly robust against the variations in the structural parameters. As the proposed fiber sensor has a strong surface plasmon resonance between the core mode and the surface plasmon mode, it is highly sensitive even for a minimum change in the refractive index of the analyte which is an attribute of high preference in biosensors

    インドの農業は気象、特に降水量の変動に大きく影響を受ける。インド亜大陸の降水量の80%は6月から9月の3ヶ月間に起こり、南西モンスーンとなる。旱魃がある地域で問題となる一方、洪水も別の地域で人間生活と農業にとって被害を及ぼし、平均的に氾濫しやすい土地の約3分の1は農地である。洪水となる過剰な雨量、不作をもたらす旱魃、財産に損害を与えるサイクロン等、気候の負の影響へは迅速な対応が求められる。その時々に気候の影響に対する社会の対処能力が試される。歴史的に社会の対処能力は地域的に試されてきており、社会は気候の変動にレジリアンスを持つ様に適応してきた。脆弱性とはその地域にすむ人口の経済システムの状態であり、また社会経済的な特徴でもある。本稿では、脆弱性の社会経済的な観点から、地域の発展段階およびさらに発展する能力を計る指標に焦点を当てた。Anand and Sen (1994)によって人間開発指標(Human Development Index: HDI)を計算するために開発された脆弱性指標の方法を基本とし、人口の脆弱性、気候の脆弱性、農業の脆弱性、就業の脆弱性を含めた。タミルナドゥ州の異なる農業気候地域で1980-2001 年までの3期間の指標を7地域で比較した結果、高降水量地域が一番脆弱性が高いことが明らかになった。脆弱性指標は、脆弱性をモニターし、脆弱性を低下させるための対策を開発し、優先順位を考え、またそれらの対策の効果を検討する際に潜在的に有効な方法であろう。和文のものは、英文の内容を要約したもの

    Weather based insurance is a resilience strategy adopted by farmers. It is intended to provide protection to the cultivator against declined rainfall, which is deemed to adversely affect the crop during its cultivation period. It is becoming popular nowadays in India due to high fluctuation in rainfall and other climate related parameters. The present paper provides a method to compute the initial premium for each crop based on the premium structure given by Agricultural Insurance Company of India Limited, New Delhi. For this, the duration in each stage of selected crop identified by Crop Production Guide(2005) jointly published by Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and Department of Agriculture, Government of Tamil Nadu and 30 years of rainfall data from Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) were used. The payout structure was derived for each stage of the selected crop in the respective district. The strike or upper threshold of the rainfall corresponds to the 30 year average accumulated rainfall of the district reference weather station while the exit or lower threshold is intended to equal the water requirement of the respective crop necessary to avoid complete crop failure.
