For estimating of the initial coefficients |c_2 | , |c_3 |, Fekete-Szego ̈ inequality and the  second Hankel determinant have been investigated for the functions in our classes.

    Mechanical and thermal properties of starch films reinforced with microcellulose fibres

    The use of starch as food packaging material has drawn increased attention due to its biodegradability, availability, and cost-effective. In order to improve the limitations of starch films in terms of mechanical and thermal resistance, the bio-composite concept was employed. In this work, microcellulose fibres (MCF) were incorporated into thermoplastic starch (TPS) films at various loading contents (1, 5, and 10 wt%). The MCF was prepared via NaOH/urea dissolution, followed by ultrasonication. The obtained MCF was characterized by FTIR and FESEM, and the size was in the range of 2 to 15 µm in diameter and 150 µm to hundreds of micrometres in length. The effect of the MCF addition on mechanical and thermal properties of starch films was investigated using universal testing machine and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), respectively. Due to similar polysaccharide structures and good interfacial interactions, the tensile strength (TS) and the elongation at break (EAB) of the films increased with the addition of MCF, but only at 1 wt% loading content. Meanwhile, there was no significant improvement in the degradation temperature of the composite films, due to the presence of hemicellulose compounds that interrupted the crystallinity of the MCF. The results indicated that the MCF has the potential to be utilized as reinforcement in bio-based polymers for food packaging applications

    Gaining Competitive Advantage through Strategic Green Supply Chain Management: From a Literature Review towards a Conceptual Model

    The link between green supply chain practices (GSCPs) and competitive advantages (CAs) is a subject of growing interest amongst academics and practitioners. Despite the theoretical arguments that environmentally conscious practices would give competitive advantages for companies, there is no consensus in empirical research concerning the positive impact of GSCPs on CAs. Due to this lack of clarity in the literature, this study undertakes a comprehensive review to evaluate the circumstances necessary for GSCPs to achieve sustainable CAs. Subsequently, a conceptual model is proposed to elaborate on the causal relationship between GSCPs and CAs. Future research opportunities are recommended to expand on the proposed conceptual model and to address the shortcomings of the existing literature

    The Effect Of Financial Literatur On Financial Welfare with Financial Management Behavior as a Mediation in The Papua Mama Market

    This study aims to determine the effect of financial literacy on financial welfare with financial management behavior as a mediating variable in the Papuan Mama-mama Market. The population in this study are individual traders at the Mama-Mama Papua market which are currently registered and verified as many as 140 traders. Based on the Slovin formula, the number of samples taken was 105 people using the purposive sampling technique. In this study, the data analysis method used was structural equation modeling-partial least squares (SEM-PLS) using SmartPLS software.The results show that Financial Literacy has a positive and significant effect on Financial Welfare, Financial Literacy has a positive and significant effect on Financial Behavior, Financial Behavior has a positive and significant impact on Financial Welfare and Financial Behavior can mediate between financial literacy and financial well-being in the Papuan mama-mama market.

    Environmental Management Practices (EMP) Implementation in Small and Medium-Size Businesses

    Purpose: Small and medium-sized businesses must understand the environmental consequences of their operations and seek advice on green issues. The goal of the study is to look into the factors that influence their establishment's implementation of environmental management practices.   Theoretical framework: A modified version of the Technology-Organizational-Environmental Framework (TOE) (Tornatzky & Fleischer, 1990) and the Model of External Influences on Environmental Awareness and Practices (MEAP) (Gadenne et al., 2009) have been developed for researching the adoption of environment management practices.   Design/methodology/approach: The study is to determine the factors adopting environmental management practices in small and medium-sized businesses. Variables introduced are from systematic literature reviews of related articles and journals. The papers were analysed from descriptive, bibliographic, methodologic, results, and citation characteristics.   Findings: According to the findings, small and medium-sized businesses could perhaps participate in environmental programs such as corporate governance, environmental legislation, different industries, business size, organization traits, talent management, internationalization, organizational structure, corporate execution activity, environmental and sustainable aspects, and role in the logistics system, corporate strategy demeanour, and geographical region.   Research, Practical & Social implications:  For small and medium-sized enterprises, implementing environmental management practices can be seen as a key strategy for addressing their environmental issues. It's crucial to understand the motivations behind these policies, though.   Originality/value: This article is an academic contribution that allows an understanding of research developed on small and medium size businesses on adopting environmental management practices, considering data from two reference research databases

    Review of biodegradable synthetic-based drilling fluid: progression, performance and future prospect

    This paper provides a comprehensive review on ester based drilling fluid (EBDF). It is no secret that esters with biodegradability and bioaccumulation attributes are among the promising alternatives to synthetic base oil in drilling fluids. The findings from the literature explained the critical parameters for drilling fluid base which are i) kinematic viscosity, ii) pour point and iii) flash point iv) thermal stability and v) hydrolytic stability and vi) elastomer compatibility. In an ideal case, an EBDF requires base oil with low viscosity, low pour, high flash point, high thermal and hydrolytic stability and compatibility with existing elastomer. However in the real application, these requirements may not be the same as the bottom hole condition which is always subjected to high pressure and high temperature environment. At the moment, the performance of EBDF is considered outstanding for normal borehole depth and complexity. Nevertheless the constraints such as low temperature at the seabed while high temperature and high pressure at the bottom hole may be slightly different when dealing with an EBDF. This is due to its unique molecular structure of ester. Affected parameters include i) high kinematic viscosity, ii) hydrolytic degradation and iii) thermal stability. Failure in managing these parameters may lead to detrimental impacts on the drilling fluid performances and the fluid's stabilities. The application of low viscosity, high thermal and hydrolytic properties of esters and combination with unique carbon based nanomaterials into formulation might be able to close the gap of current EBDF performances

    Extraction of eco-friendly natural dyes from Pina leaves and their application on wool fabrics

    Natural dyes comprise of colorants that are obtained from animals or vegetable matters without any chemical processing. Natural dyes can substitute synthetic dye and promotes green technology initiatives in the field of textile dyeing. This study was carried out by extracting dyes from pineapple leaves (Ananas Comosus) using three stage mordanting methods using different mordants namely premordanting, post-mordanting and simultaneous dyeing-mordanting. The mordants used were aluminium potassium sulphate, white vinegar and sodium chloride (NaCl). Wool fabrics were used for dyeing. The strength of colour and K/S values of the dyed fabrics were measured before and after washing. The colourfastness to washing, rubbing and light fastness of the fabrics were conducted to investigate the performance of the dye and mordants. The results indicate that the washing, rubbing and light fastness properties of dyed samples were between good to excellent grades

    Suitability of various plant derived gelling agents as agar substitute in microbiological growth media

    Eleven putative gelling agents were investigated as agar substitutes. These included arrowroot (Maranta arundinaceae), coconut powder (Cocos nucifera), corn flour (Zea mays var. amylacea), gel rite (a water-soluble polysaccharide produced by Sphingomonas elodea), glue (Cyanoacrylates), katira gum (Cochlospermum religiosum), guar gum (Cyamopsis tetragonolobus L.), isubgol husk (Plantago ovata), pectin and rice (Oryza sativa L.) powder. Among these, guar gum was found a promising alternate candidate for agar. Media solidified with 2.8% guar gum was transparent and supportive for the growth of three test fungi (Trichoderma harzianum, Alternaria alternata and Alternaria solani) as good as agar. Guar gum also excelled in terms of cost benefit ratio when compared with agar. Guar gum fortified media was found to cost 0.005/Lascomparedtoagarsupplementedmediacosting 0.005/L as compared to agar supplemented media costing 1.17/L. Further, guar gum is easily available and can be added with ease thereby serving as a suitable and inexpensive substitute of agar and thus, can be adopted for routine microbiological testing in resource poor countries.Key words: Guar gum, media, agar, gelling agents

    Yield loss assessment of chickpea caused by botrytis gray mold through fungicide (Bavistin) spray

    An experiment was conducted to assess the yield loss of chickpea caused by Botrytis gray mold (BGM) through fungicide spray at Pulses Research Centre, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Ishurdi, Pabna, Bangladesh. Sixteen entries were evaluated following RCB design with three replications. Out of 16 tested germplasms, eight germplasms (92040*52, FLIP97-530 CLIMS, 94-012*98V4006, FLIP98-106C, Gully, FLIP94-509C, 97020-1489 and S95425) showed resistant reaction, while eight and one entries showed susceptible and highly susceptible, respectably, in fungicide sprayed plot. The highest yield increase over BGM inoculated plot were observed in BARWON*98CIH4007 (180.49%) and 97020-1489 (157.96%). The lowest yield increase over BGM inoculated plot were recorded in HEERA*98CZH4010 (6.39%) and 94-012*98V4006 (8.93%) genotypes

    Fluorescence dynamics of graphene quantum dots for detecting lard substance

    Graphene Quantum Dots (GQD) is used for detecting lard substance. It is discovered that the fluorescence for a GQD with a size approximately 5nm in size will have a peak at 675nm. Introducing lard substance to the GQD will induce a broad fluorescence spectrum at the range of 415 till 715nm. Higher fluorescence is observed from 760nm till 860nm showing the dynamics fluorescence changes when lard is applied. These fluorescence dynamics when lard is introduced is due to the functional groups of Carbon-Carbon interaction between GQD and lard
