Estimation of time-resolved velocity fields with modal analysis

Turbulence constitutes one of the still unsolved and most challenging phenomena ever covered by Fluid Mechanics. However, the state of the art methods do not provide the necessary commitment between spatial and temporal resolutions that are required for a complete comprehension of turbulent ows. This fact has boosted the development of methods relying in statistics and that are able to combine the benefits from several approaches in order to overcome such spatiotemporal limitations. Among the multiple proposals, the dynamic estimation of fluid properties based on Extended Proper Orthogonal Decomposition modes postulates as one of the most promising approaches. This method is able to estimate time-resolved turbulent velocity fields by extending the temporal correlation between time-resolved singlepoint velocity measurements and non-time-resolved field measurements obtained at synchronized times to the \out-of-sample" time instants. This study is based on the work performed by Discetti et al. who proposed a standard truncation criterion for the filtration of the measurement signals based on the aforementioned random distribution of noise. For this purpose a parametric study is performed in order to evaluate the already proposed standard truncation threshold and two possible variants under the effects of di erent factors. Channel ow data generated using a DNS is used for the validation of the approach due to its large wealth of motion scales. The average estimation error is used as the figure of merit in the assessment of the filtration procedure performance and estimation quality.Ingeniería Aeroespacia

La reivindicación de la libertad de conciencia en movimientos ciudadanos recientes en España: manifestaciones posteriores al 11-M y 15-M

This paper attempts a first approach to the analysis of the demand for freedom of conscience - in the broadest sense of freedom of thought, ideology, belief, religion and worship – in two recent citizen mobilizations in Spain, the demonstrations rejecting the terrorist attack of March 11, 2004 and the so-called 15-M movement, the 2011 Spanish protests by the “Indignados” (indignants). Empoderar la migración: La tertulia literaria el butacón de Hamburgo y su revista Viento Sur

This article describes the Literary Circle El Butacón in Hamburg and the literary magazine Viento Sur. Both are part of the Intercultural Literature wroten since 1964 by inmigrants who arrive in Germany after the Second World War. The literary circle and the magazine bear testimony to the strong conviction of his editors about the power of literatura as a tool for empowerment of inmigrants groups in the Federal Republic. Literature and Multilingualism: Analysis of an Experienced Language (erlebte Sprache)

Our research framework, called intercultural poetics, seeks to answer the question of how literary language behaves in intercultural writers, i.e., those authors who have more than one language at their disposal for creation – e.g., their mother tongue and the host country language. What literary devices do they prioritise? Do such uses involve a redefinition of traditional literary concepts? In previous articles a description has been made of some of the procedures relating to the language of writing and the latent language. In this article we will show how these authors work with a third language as an experienced language (erlebte Sprache), by exemplifying with the case study of German as the language used in Nazi concentration camps in Jorge Semprún’s novel Le mort qu’il faut (2001). We will also explain the specific use of multilingualism in European intercultural literature as an invitation to identify similar phenomena in other writersLa poética intercultural es una línea de investigación que responde a la pregunta de cómo se comporta la lengua literaria en aquellos autores que en el momento de la creación no solo tienen una lengua a su disposición, sino dos o más, qué recursos poéticos priorizan y si dichos usos implican una redefinición de conceptos literarios tradicionales. Academic Performance and ICT. A Study with Educational Websites at the University of Murcia, Spain

Se analizan las relaciones entre implicación del alumno en la utilización de webs didácticas de asignatura (a través del número de accesos) y rendimiento académico (calificaciones). Todo ello en 189 alumnos de 3 asignaturas de la Universidad de Murcia. Se comprueba como esa implicación de los estudiantes con la utilización de la web didáctica de su asignatura se relaciona positivamente con sus resultados académicos (analizando los datos tanto con técnicas correlaciónales como con técnica de ANOVA). El resultado supone un paso más allá de la constatación previa existente de la buena acogida que los alumnos hacen de estas herramientas didácticas.Connections between the student's involvement in the usage of teaching webs (via access count) and academic performance (grades) are analyzed in 189 students of 3 subjects at the University of Murcia. It can be observed that involvement of students with the use of teaching webs is positively related to their academic performance (data was analyzed using both correlational and ANOVE techniques). Ejecución en fluidez verbal y razonamiento lógico matemático: un acercamiento a la relación desempeño lingüística rendimiento matemático

Se estudió el papel de la fluidez verbal (FV), como uno de los componentes del lenguaje, sobre el razonamiento lógico matemático, el cual hemos observado es un adecuado indicador del rendimiento escolar en matemáticas. Se trabajó con FV porque una alteración en ella confirma un trastorno del lenguaje. De una muestra inicial de 295 estudiantes universitarios seleccionados mediante un muestreo por conglomerados se escogieron a 67. Se aplicó una prueba neuropsicológica de FV y un test de razonamiento lógico. Se encontraron mayores competencias lingüísticas en alumnos con más alto rendimiento en matemáticas-estadística.
