Los animales domésticos son susceptibles de contraer una amplia variedad de enfermedades gastrointestinales, entre ellas las causadas por agentes parasitarios son de gran relevancia en la práctica veterinaria, no solo por el daño en la salud de los animales domésticos sino también porque pueden convertirse en un problema de salud pública debido a su gran potencial zoonotico, la Giardia sp es uno de los agentes parasitarios que se identifican con mayor frecuencia en los laboratorios de todo el mundo. El objetivo del presente trabajo fue determinar la prevalencia de Giardia sp. En el hogar de paso de fauna domestica la María ubicado en la vereda la María municipio de santa rosa de cabal, Risaralda. Fueron recolectadas un total de 43 muestras de materia fecal para exámenes coprológicos de perros de raza criolla biológicamente adultos y de ambos sexos, en 37 de las 43 muestras que constituyen una prevalencia del 78,2% para el albergue la María fue posible la identificación de ooquistes de Giardia sp. El análisis de los resultados del estudio permite concluir que existe una alta prevalencia de giardiasis en los perros que llegan hogar de paso la María, información que permite orientar de manera adecuada la selección de medicamentos desparasitantes y estrategias de limpieza y desinfección

Guías de práctica clínica en francés y español: análisis de la superestructura

The purpose of this paper is to provide elements that will help to further understand the clinical practice guideline genre in French and in Spanish, thereby facilitating the work of authors and translators. The study thus focuses on the analysis of the superstructure, with a view to offering guidelines for the construction of a sample prototype. First, we describe and define the genre in question. In the second section, we refer to the materials and methodological framework employed, describing the sub-domain chosen for analysis (rare diseases), the compilation and processing of the corpus and, finally, the research methodology implemented. The final section presents and discusses the results of the corpus analysis, which indicate the importance of advocating a single unique superstructure for the genre in question.El objetivo de este trabajo es proporcionar elementos que permitan un mejor conocimiento del género textual “guía de práctica clínica” en francés y en español que facilite su redacción y su traducción. Para ello, nos centramos en el estudio de la superestructura con la finalidad de ofrecer pautas para el establecimiento de un modelo prototípico. En primer lugar, se lleva a cabo una descripción y delimitación del género objeto de estudio. En segundo lugar, se recogen los datos relativos a los materiales y el marco metodológico, describiéndose el subdominio seleccionado (enfermedades raras), la compilación y el tratamiento del corpus, así como la metodología de investigación adoptada. BAREFOOT RUNNING PRODUCES CHANGES IN FOOT STRIKE PATTERN AND BILATERAL ASYMMETRIES ONLY AS AN ACUTE EFFECT

This study analyzed changes and bilateral asymmetries in Foot Strike Pattern (FSP). Twenty-eight subjects were divided into Barefoot Group (BFGr) (n=16) and Shod Group (SHGr) (n=12), evaluated before (Baseline) and after running for 20 min at 3.1 m·s−1 (Post 20min Running), and at the end of an 8-week running training protocol (Post 8-week Training). Plantar pressures were obtained to calculate Strike Index (SI). Only condition factor (SHGr/BFGr) resulted in significative effect (F=52.45, p=0.00, ƞ2p =0.67). The number of subjects with Forefoot Strike (FFS) and Midfoot Strike (MFS) was always higher in BFGr than SHGr. This difference was higher in Post 20min Running, where BFGr outperformed SHGr by 46 percentage points. BFGr doubled the percentage of asymmetric subjects in Post 20min Running (25% in Baseline to 50% in 20min Running) and returned to Baseline’s value in Post 8-week Training. The shift of FSP towards MFS or FFS and the increase of asymmetries are immediate adaptations caused by barefoot running. However, a training protocol of 8-weeks does not produce maintenance of these modifications

Administrative decentralisation and its impacts on educational expenditure and student outcomes: evidence from Colombia

A substantial decentralisation reform occurred in Colombia school education in 2001. The government established an arbitrary rule that granted municipalities with a population greater than 100,000 almost complete autonomy to provide education services (certification). Going beyond some mechanisms identified in previous policy evaluations (such as a higher proportion of higher-quality teachers) we analysed how reform affected the investment of local resources in education and the distribution of the total budget in key areas of the school system. Certified municipalities experienced an increase in education expenditure, after discounting teachers’ payroll, because of increased efficiency in the management of total resources, both locally raised and central government transfers. This allowed higher expenditures in school infrastructure, education quality, and other education-related programmes, all key components of education policy. In addition, after 2002 the competitiveness of public schools increased in certified municipalities, compared to non-certified areas. Achieving better student outcomes was primarily explained by changes in the allocation of resources in certified municipalities that resulted in increased efficiency after gaining autonomy. Lastly, certification enhances competitiveness of public schools as against private ones

Costos laborales y no laborales y su impacto sobre el desempleo, la duración del desempleo y la informalidad en Colombia, 1980-2007

Este documento describe y analiza la evolución del desempleo desde 1980 estimando el efecto de los costos laborales no salariales (parafiscales) y salario mínimo sobre la tasa y duración del desempleo así como el efecto de los costos mencionados sobre la informalidad. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que aumentos en las regulaciones laborales aumentan la informalidad, el desempleo y su duración. Al medir el impacto de los cambios en los costos no laborales desde comienzos de los noventa, se encuentra que aquellos generaron un desempleo adicional de por lo menos en 3.5 puntos porcentuales y 5.3 puntos de informalidad, además de aumentar en 6 semanas la duración del desempleo. Gender disclosure: The impact of peer behaviour and the firm's equality policies

AbstractGender equality is the future towards which society and companies have to move, and it is thus essential to know what efforts organisations are making. In this paper, we analyse the transparency of multinationals in matters of gender, in accordance with the requirements determined by the global reporting initiative (GRI) and United Nations (UN). The results suggest that higher levels of gender equality support the decision to report all GRI+UN indicators, a decision that has been maintained over time and is not moderated by peer disclosure. This behaviour facilitates the inclusion of companies in different reputation lists as a consequence of a greater commitment to gender equality, although these rankings also assess the completeness of the information when considering the disclosure of the GRI+UN indicators. Labor competitiveness in our country increasingly demands that new workers must have different skills to complement their professional profile and achieve a better performance in the provision of work; the ability to communicate in English is essential to complete a suitable professional profile and increases the possibilities of being hired and keeping a job. Due to this, the Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA), which is the institute responsible for offering the majority of technical and technological training in our country, includes in the curriculum of its programs different compulsory English courses to obtain the degree. The participants of the Intervention Project are learners from different areas of training: commerce and finance, industry, computer science, design, as well as the work group that will accompany them to strengthen language skills in L2 and reach to the English corresponding levels of English needed by learners, A2 for technical programs and B1 for technologists, the practitioners were three students of the degree in bilingualism of Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira. This academic accompaniment focuses on the application of the methodologies of co-planning and co-teaching as well as the creation of content for the teaching of English with a specific purpose among facilitators of the Servicio Nacional de Aprendizaje (SENA) and Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira (UTP). Also, through tutoring sessions, English events such as Semana de los Idiomas or Bootcamps, and conversation clubs. During this process, teamwork with the apprentices was accomplished and strategies to facilitate the acquisition of new linguistic resources were given satisfactorily, this was evidenced when the apprentices showed an improvement in the English lessons, minimizing the gaps that they have at the beginning and increasing the fluency and the participation when talking in English. El dragón chino en Angola: la diplomacia cultural como una herramienta de construcción de identidad

El creciente interés de China por África ha modificado y estructurado una nueva política exterior, en donde el fortalecimiento de las relaciones políticas y económicas se ve ligado al uso de la diplomacia cultural como una herramienta de atracción. Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, la presente investigación tiene por objetivo principal indagar cómo China construye una identidad a través de su diplomacia cultural en Angola, demostrando así, que este país utiliza sus costumbres, principios y normas para establecer una identidad de rol en la que se asume como una potencia que debe cooperar. No obstante, sus intereses van más allá de la cooperación al profundizar en relaciones de confianza que lo beneficien política y económicamente. However, its interests go beyond cooperation in order to deepen trust relationships that benefit both countries politically and economically.
