Elements for flexible multibody dynamics
Two-Photon-Polymerization for Powder Processing of Ceramics
In
No industry stays untouched by additive manufacturing and its huge potential to revolutionize our
manufacturing processes. 3D-printed ceramic parts are of rising interest, due to their unique
chemical, mechanical and electrical properties.
The Two-Photon-Polymerization as a stereolithography technology stands out with its high resolution
in the small micrometer- down to nanometerrange and its operation freedom to print freely in the
three-dimensional volume. Utilizing this process to produce high precision ceramic parts opens a new
order of magnitude to ceramic manufacturing. Therefore, a completely new resin is needed, which
meets the requirements of the Two-Photon-Polymerization and ceramic processing. In this study a
resin was developed regarding the rheological, optical and photocuring requirements and printed
into three-dimensional figures. That ought to be debinded and sintered to gain fully ceramic three dimensional structures of alumina toughened zirconia (ATZ), as an example of techn
Authentication and Authorization in Microservice-Based Applications
The development of microservice-based applications adds challenges when using different cloud services. One such challenge is the integration of authentication and authorization among different systems. In this publication, we describe the development of a software as a service solution with the focus on the integration of authentication and authorization. For the development of the business logic, the integration platform as a service MuleSoft is used. The identity and access management as a service solution Okta is used to provide the necessary means for authentication. To perform authorization decisions, JSON Web Tokens and API proxies are used
The effects of clinical hypnosis versus Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) before External Cephalic Version (ECV) : a prospective off-centre randomised, double-blind, controlled trial
Objective. To examine the effects of clinical hypnosis versus NLP intervention on the success rate of ECV procedures in comparison to a control group.
Methods. A prospective off-centre randomised trial of a clinical hypnosis intervention against NLP of women with a singleton breech fetus at or after 370/7 (259 days) weeks of gestation and normal amniotic fluid index. All 80 participants heard a 20-minute recorded intervention via head phones. Main outcome assessed was success rate of ECV. The intervention groups were compared with a control group with standard medical care alone (n=122).
Results. A total of 42 women, who received a hypnosis intervention prior to ECV, had a 40.5% (n=17), successful ECV, whereas 38 women, who received NLP, had a 44.7% (n=17) successful ECV (P > 0.05). The control group had similar patient characteristics compared to the intervention groups (P > 0.05). In the control group (n = 122) 27.3% (n = 33) had a statistically significant lower successful ECV procedure than NLP (P = 0.05) and hypnosis and NLP (P = 0.03).
Conclusions. These findings suggest that prior clinical hypnosis and NLP have similar success rates of ECV procedures and are both superior to standard medical care alone
Interactive Reputation Systems - How to Cope with Malicious Behavior in Feedback Mechanisms
Early reputation systems use simple computation metrics that can easily be manipulated by malicious actors. Advanced computation models that mitigate their weaknesses, however, are non-transparent to the end-users thus lowering their understandability and the usersâ trust towards the reputation system. The paper proposes the concept of interactive reputation systems that combine the cognitive capabilities of the user with the advantages of robust metrics while preserving the systemâs transparency. Results of the evaluation show that interactive reputation systems increase both the usersâ detection ability (robustness) and understanding of malicious behavior while avoiding trade-offs in usability
Intra- and interbrain synchronization and network properties when playing guitar in duets
To further test and explore the hypothesis that synchronous oscillatory brain activity supports interpersonally coordinated behavior during dyadic music performance, we simultaneously recorded the electroencephalogram (EEG) from the brains of each of 12 guitar duets repeatedly playing a modified Rondo in two voices by C.G. Scheidler. Indicators of phase locking and of within-brain and between-brain phase coherence were obtained from complex time-frequency signals based on the Gabor transform. Analyses were restricted to the delta (1â4 Hz) and theta (4â8 Hz) frequency bands. We found that phase locking as well as within-brain and between-brain phase-coherence connection strengths were enhanced at frontal and central electrodes during periods that put particularly high demands on musical coordination. Phase locking was modulated in relation to the experimentally assigned musical roles of leader and follower, corroborating the functional significance of synchronous oscillations in dyadic music performance. Graph theory analyses revealed within-brain and hyperbrain networks with small-worldness properties that were enhanced during musical coordination periods, and community structures encompassing electrodes from both brains (hyperbrain modules). We conclude that brain mechanisms indexed by phase locking, phase coherence, and structural properties of within-brain and hyperbrain networks support interpersonal action coordination (IAC)
