Økonomi ved å ta i bruk jordbruksarealer ute av drift

    Get PDF

Poster presentation at the Michigan Academic Library Association (MiALA) Annual Conference 2017, Grand Rapids, MITo address the need for students to develop news literacy skills at Washtenaw Community College (WCC), librarians created an online guide, called "News Literacy," and corresponding instruction sessions based on research, literature, and colleagues' input. WCC's guide supports the library's outreach goals. It fostered a partnership with English instructors, who invited librarians to teach one-shot sessions on evaluating news. The poster will describe the guide's design, current state and use, and future plans.https://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/146728/1/WCC_Poster_CheckYourFacts.pdfhttps://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/146728/2/CheckyourfactsPostcard.pdfhttps://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/146728/3/checkyourfactsbutton.pdfhttps://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/bitstream/2027.42/146728/4/checkyourfactsbuttons2.pdfDescription of WCC_Poster_CheckYourFacts.pdf : PosterDescription of CheckyourfactsPostcard.pdf : Postcard handoutDescription of checkyourfactsbutton.pdf : Buttons template 1Description of checkyourfactsbuttons2.pdf : Buttons template

ENHANCING STUDENTS' ATTITUDE AND ACHIEVEMENT IN BIOLOGY THROUGH INNOVATIVE STRATEGIES

In this research, the impact of peer tutoring and group tutoring led to team learning approaches on the attitude of the students towards and achievement in biology. The thesis had been motivated by four research questions and six null hypotheses. The research had used a quasi-experimental method. In particular, the design of the un-equivalent control group. The sample size was 182 SS 1 students from the four sampled government senior high schools in Port-Harcourt metropolis, River State, Nigeria in four intact classrooms. Two of the classes were exposed to peer tutoring while the remaining two were exposed to peer-led team learning strategies. Biology Attitudinal Scale (BAS), and Biology Achievement Test (BAT) were data collection instruments. BAS construct validity was developed using factor analysis, while BAT material validity was calculated using the specification table. Reliability for BAS and BAT was obtained using formula 20 (K-R 20) from Cronbach Alpha and Kudar-Richardson. Mean and the standard deviation was used to answer the study questions while Covariance analysis (ANCOVA) was used to evaluate the hypotheses at 0.05 significance point. The findings showed that peer-led team learning approach is better than peer tutoring in enhancing the attitude and achievement of the students in biology. The implications of the findings were highlighted and recommendations made

Counselling for Effective Management of Nomadic Education in Nigeria

    Get PDF
Irrespective of the heuristic channel through which education is acquired, be it formal, informal or non-formal, educating an individual remains an essential ingredient for socio-personal empowerment. Education remains a veritable vector for enhancing human quality. This in turn empowers an individual in making his impact felt on society in which he is an integral part of. Nomads in Nigeria are grouped among the neglected individuals that are denied this important means of human empowerment. Our paper therefore advances counselling approaches towards appropriate education and re-integration of nomads to become part of policy makers and decision making in the country. This will make for their having a sense of belonging and contribution to national development

The Journal Of Mother Studies: A Peer Reviewed, International, Interdisciplinary, Open-Acess, Digital Humanities Hybrid Project

Academic Journals are an established forum for educators and researchers to disseminate information within their field. Journals act as mediators of knowledge, advancing the canons within specific areas of study. There are currently two journals that focus on motherhood from an interdisciplinary perspective and one that focuses on fathers. However, none of these determine a specific foundational definition of what the field is, what it hopes to study, and how it will advance itself. Rather, these journals are general collections of a great number of things that touch on varying subjects regarding motherhood and fatherhood. This thesis argues for the creation of a fourth journal, The Journal of Mother Studies (JourMS), which will posit a foundational definition of what Mother Studies is and what a theory of this particular field would look like. This peer reviewed, international, interdisciplinary, open-access, digital humanities hybrid project, aims to serve as a nexus for ongoing explorations within the emerging field of Mother Studies as defined by the interdisciplinary study that devotes itself to the issues, experiences, topics, history, and culture of mothers, mothering, and motherhood
