Photometric and Astrometric Calibration of the JWST Instrument Complement

In preparation for James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), a set of cross calibration programs with HST and Spitzer for suitable primary photometric standards and astrometric fields were developed. NICMOS/HST and IRAC/Spitzer photometry observations of new solar analog standards in NGC 6791 and Melotte 66 were executed. These new photometric standards will provide ~ 5% photometric precision at V~19 from the near-IR to the mid-IR wavelength range for efficient on-orbit calibration and measuring of photometric stability of the JWST complement. For the astrometric calibration, a field in the LMC has been selected. This field falls within the JWST continuous viewing zone, within 5 degrees from the ecliptic poles, and has the stellar density necessary to achieve accuracies better than 1 mas with HST/ACS. Analysis of Balmer Profiles of early type stars

The spectral energy distribution (SED) of recent star formation regions is dominated by the more massive and early stars (O and B types). These stars show large and very significant absorption features, the most prominent being the recombination lines of H, HeI and HeII. In particular, the shape of their profiles are very dependent on the luminosity of the star. We have explored the potential use of high resolution profiles to discriminate between different luminosity classes and spectral types, by using profiles of the He and Balmer lines. We have calculated growth curves for each of the lines and their dependence on gravity and effective temperature. The employees perspective on the challenges faced when starting a new job remotely

Due to the mandatory lockdown, resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic, employees had to start working remotely and companies had to change their onboarding experience to online. So, this research goal is to discover if employees that started working remotely faced new challenges. For that, a qualitative approach was conducted, and it was concluded that these employees miss more the office than the remaining, since they did not had a previous personal experience with the colleagues

Fertilizer Placement and Tillage Interaction in Corn and Soybean Production

Different tillage systems can affect the availability of phosphorus (P) by changing the soil environment. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects and interaction of fertilizer placement, tillage, and varieties for soybean and corn. The experiment was established at two locations in Kansas in 2014. The experimental design was a factorial in a randomized complete block with four replications. Three fertilizer treatments were combined with two tillage systems and two varieties of soybean and corn selected based on contrasting root systems. Plant tissue samples were collected during the vegetative and reproductive stages to evaluate P concentration, P uptake, and dry matter. Significant differences were found in the parameters across locations for corn and soybean. Results suggest advantages for deep-band application for soybean and broadcast application for corn. Varieties responded differently in the parameters evaluated in this study

Los antecedentes judiciales y la reinserción social mediante el derecho al trabajo formal, Chiclayo, 2021

La presente tesis tuvo por finalidad determinar de qué manera los antecedentes judiciales influyen en la reinserción social mediante el derecho al trabajo formal; motivo por el se tuvo un enfoque cualitativo, debido a que no se recurrió al uso de técnicas estadísticas para conocer las opiniones de los participantes preseleccionados; de igual manera, se recurrió al uso de doctrina, jurisprudencia, libros, revistas y tesis para lograr una tesis motivada. Se precisa que se tuvo un diseño de investigación no experimental, a razón por la que las investigadoras examinaron categorías, sub categorías e indicadores sin la necesidad de realizar manipulación sobre ellas. Con el propósito de recaudar toda la información necesaria, se diseñó un instrumento de recolección de datos, el mismo que consistió en una entrevista, tal instrumento se aplicó solo a abogados especialistas en derecho penal; una vez terminada la aplicación de este, la información obtenida fue presentada en tablas, de tal manera que se obtenga un criterio de rigor científico de correspondencia entre la realidad y la teoría; a razón de ello, es que se afirma que el derecho al trabajo formal se configura cuando existe una relación contractual entre un trabajador y un empleador, el mismo que debe otorgar a sus empleados los beneficios de ley, es decir otorgar las oportunidades que amerita el trabajo formal, así como también sus obligación. Por último, se concluye que con la incorporación del precepto normativo propuesto de eliminar de registro de antecedentes judiciales en casos específicos, permitirá brindar oportunidad laboral formal a los ex internos, favoreciendo a la reinserción y rehabilitación; toda vez que los antecedentes inciden de manera negativa en la reinserción social, porque al existir dicho registro se les hace un trato diferente y no se les permite formalizar una relación contractual pese a que cuenta con todas las capacidades para desempeñar dicha labor
