THE RISKS AND ADVANTAGES OF ANTI-DIABETES THERAPY IN THE POSITIVE COVID-19 PATIENT
The new Sars-Cov-2 (COVID-19) is causing thousands of deaths worldwide and has caused a global pandemic, one of the biggest health challenges ever faced in history. in the most severe cases, Sars-Cov-2 infection can cause fatal lung injuries. In this context, it is essential to recognise effective therapeutic agents against the virus. There are currently no direct and effective vaccines and antivirals available. People with pre-existing conditions, such as diabetes, and with chronic drug therapies in place may represent complex patients difficult to manage clinically during COVID-19 infection and at high risk of major complications. The regulation of blood glucose and the adoption of appropriate measures are critical aspects to consider for the diabetic patient in this pandemic period, especially in the patient with ongoing infection. In this article we describe the current evidence in the literature on the possible risks of side effects caused by taking antidiabetic drugs in the COVID-19 patient and the data on extra homeostasis glycemic activity useful to fight viral infection.

UJPR follows the most transparent and toughest ‘Advanced OPEN peer review’ system. The identity of the authors and, reviewers will be known to each other. This transparent process will help to eradicate any possible malicious/purposeful interference by any person (publishing staff, reviewer, editor, author, etc) during peer review. As a result of this unique system, all reviewers will get their due recognition and respect, once their names are published in the papers. We expect that, by publishing peer review reports with published papers, will be helpful to many authors for drafting their article according to the specifications. Auhors will remove any error of their article and they will improve their article(s) according to the previous reports displayed with published article(s). The main purpose of it is ‘to improve the quality of a candidate manuscript’. Our reviewers check the ‘strength and weakness of a manuscript honestly’. There will increase in the perfection, and transparency.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DIABETES MELLITUS AND TUBERCULOSIS IN REVIEW OF PREVALENCE, DIAGNOSTICS AND PREVENTIO
USE OF COLCHICINE TO COUNTERACT THE STRONG HYPERINFLAMMATORY STATE INDUCED BY SARS-COV-2
Research in present time has been focusing on finding a specific SARS-CoV-2 vaccine or antiviral, which will probably be the therapeutic goal in the fight against the virus. In the meantime, scientific evidence shows that it is possible to have effective clinical improvements of infected patients in reducing the strong hyperinflammatory state. The SARS-CoV-2 infection is divided into three stages. The most serious phase is the third one where the immune system overdrives and launches an intense attack against itself. This is called "cytokine storm" and leads to tissue damage and often to death. Stopping the cytokine storm early is definitely an effective move; since March several studies have been evaluating how this can be an important pharmacological aspect. Blocking IL-6 or IL-1 inhibitors, for example, is already known to have wide efficacy, but they are not alone in being able to block the cascade of cytokines. This is a clinical pharmacology article and demonstrates how the use of colchicine, monotherapy or in combination in all three phases of SARS-CoV-2, controls inflammation and prevents patient death. Colchicine is safe and effective for treating SARS-CoV-2 patients in preventing inflammation and lung collapse and is certainly useful as an added remedy for other drugs. The advantage is certainly its safety profile much higher than that provided by other drugs, such as corticosteroids and immunosuppressive drugs. Note is the story of hydroxychloroquine: use has been banned due to its high toxicity.

Understanding Marine Biodegradation of Bio-Based Oligoesters and Plasticizers
The study reports the enzymatic synthesis of bio-based oligoesters and chemo-enzymatic processes for obtaining epoxidized bioplasticizers and biolubricants starting from cardoon seed oil. All of the molecules had MW below 1000 g mol-1 and were analyzed in terms of marine biodegradation. The data shed light on the effects of the chemical structure, chemical bond lability, thermal behavior, and water solubility on biodegradation. Moreover, the analysis of the biodegradation of the building blocks that constituted the different bio-based products allowed us to distinguish between different chemical and physicochemical factors. These hints are of major importance for the rational eco-design of new benign bio-based products. Overall, the high lability of ester bonds was confirmed, along with the negligible effect of the presence of epoxy rings on triglyceride structures.
The biodegradation data clearly indicated that the monomers/building blocks undergo a much slower process of abiotic or biotic transformations, potentially leading to accumulation. Therefore, the simple analysis of the erosion, hydrolysis, or visual/chemical disappearance of the chemical products or plastic is not sufficient, but ecotoxicity studies on the effects of such small molecules are of major importance. The use of natural feedstocks, such as vegetable seed oils and their derivatives, allows the minimization of these risks, because microorganisms have evolved enzymes and metabolic pathways for processing such natural molecules
De Novo Transcriptome Assembly of Cucurbita Pepo L. Leaf Tissue Infested by Aphis Gossypii
Zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.), extensively cultivated in temperate areas, belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family and it is a species with great economic value. One major threat related to zucchini cultivation is the damage imposed by the cotton/melon aphid Aphis gossypii Glover (Homoptera: Aphididae). We performed RNA-sequencing on cultivar "San Pasquale" leaves, uninfested and infested by A. gossypii, that were collected at three time points (24, 48, and 96 h post infestation). Then, we combined all high-quality reads for de novo assembly of the transcriptome. This resource was primarily established to be used as a reference for gene expression studies in order to investigate the transcriptome reprogramming of zucchini plants following aphid infestation. In addition, raw reads will be valuable for new experiments based on the latest bioinformatic tools and analytical approaches. The assembled transcripts will serve as an important reference for sequence-based studies and for primer design. Both datasets can be used to support/improve the prediction of protein-coding genes in the zucchini genome, which has been recently released into the public domain
An Environmentally Friendly Nb–P–Si Solid Catalyst for Acid-Demanding Reactions
Here, we report the structural characteristics, the surface properties, and the catalytic performances of a Nb–P–Si ternary oxide material (2.5Nb2O5·2.5P2O5·95SiO2, 2.5NbP) in two reactions of importance for biomass valorisation and green industrial production: hydrolysis of inulin and esterification of oleic acid with polyalcohol for biolubricant production. High dispersion of the Nb centers, ascertained by UV–vis–DRS, 29Si, 31P, and 1H solid-state NMR spectroscopy, is the key point for the successful activity of 2.5NbP. Intrinsic and effective acidities of the sample were studied by FT-IR of adsorbed pyridine in the absence and presence of water and by volumetric titrations of the acid sites in cyclohexane and in water, to enlighten the nature and amount of acid sites in different environments. For both studied reactions, 2.5NbP catalyst exhibits water-tolerant acidic sites, mainly Brønsted ones, giving higher activity and better stability in the reaction medium than well-known niobium oxophosphate catalyst, which is considered one of the best water-tolerant acid catalysts
