Generales S.A.

The importance of security within a company plays a fundamental role because they have to be
well structured because this can generate considerable losses to the company, which is why an
important management tool is the matrix of hazard identification, risk assessment and
determination. of controls, of mandatory compliance and auditable, that allows to identify the
hazards and evaluate the risks associated with the processes and activities of any organization, as
well as to determine the controls to be implemented to avoid damage to the integrity and / or health
of our workers.
The present research study is focused on proposing Santo Domingo Contratistas
Generales SA within the company. a proposal to improve the process of hazard identification, risk
assessment and determination of controls to reduce the occurrence of accidents in the company
which allowed to reduce the occurrence of work accidents through the proposal to improve their
hazard identification processes, evaluation of risks and determination of controls in the company
Santo Domingo Contratistas Generales SA - 2017. This allowed us to formulate the following
hypothesis If a proposal is designed to improve the process of hazard identification, risk
assessment and determination of controls, the occurrence of accidents in the company Santo
Domingo Contratistas Generales S.A.
The data obtained were worked according to basic statistics studies which show as a result
of the recognition of the main hazards within the company Santo Domingo Contratistas Generales
S.A. and the proposal will allow to decrease through the management of the IPERC Matrix. For this
reason, the measures included in the Occupational Risk Prevention Programs are designed by
specialists who know the different sectors of activity and therefore are aware of the different
measures that should be applied in each sector. It is obvious that the measures for the construction
sector must be different from those required in another sector with less risk

Paper Reduction at WPI
This project initially looked at the primary drivers of paper use within the WPI community and the reasons why, in spite of modern information processing capabilities, the current practices still use an increasing volume of paper. Leveraging the latest technological offerings to counter human preferences for paper emerged as the cornerstone of the ultimate solution. This effort has identified a practical and attractive initiative that leverages the recent advances in tablet computing and cross platform data synchronization to deliver even better portability than paper offers in the educational environment. The use of tablets also provides the very conventional and preferred option of hand written annotation, a feature that, thus far, has only really been available with paper
Inspection and Reconnaissance Micro-Rover for Use in Extraterrestrial Environments
The goal of this project is to design and implement a micro-rover capable of supporting a primary rover to complete mission specific tasks and objectives. This rover is designed with the intent of interfacing with many different robotic systems due to the ease of integration with Robot Operating System (ROS) and its small size. The project demonstrates the possibilities for smaller and lighter robotic rovers by exhibiting a small tele-operated, two-wheel, self-righting micro-rover with a HD video stream and sensor feedback for situational awareness designed for use in space applications. The micro-rover project proves the capabilities of creating a small inexpensive secondary rover to play a key supportive role, allowing the pair to complete mission objectives faster and more efficiently

Unraveling disparities: Probing gender, race, and geographic inequities in pulmonary heart disease mortality in the United States: An extensive longitudinal examination (1999–2020) leveraging CDC WONDER data
This comprehensive study delves into the epidemiological landscape of Pulmonary Heart Disease (PHD) mortality in the United States from 1999 to 2020, leveraging the extensive CDC WONDER database. PHD encompasses conditions affecting the right side of the heart due to lung disorders or elevated pressure in the pulmonary arteries, including pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary embolism, and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). Analyzing data from death certificates, demographic characteristics, and geographical segmentation, significant trends emerge. The age-adjusted mortality rates (AAMRs) for PHD-related deaths show a fluctuating pattern, initially decreasing from 1999 to 2006, followed by a steady increase until 2020. Male patients consistently exhibit higher AAMRs than females, with notable disparities observed among racial/ethnic groups and geographic regions. Non-hispanic (NH) Black or African American individuals, residents of specific states like Colorado and the District of Columbia, and those in the Midwest region demonstrate elevated AAMRs. Furthermore, nonmetropolitan areas consistently manifest higher AAMRs than metropolitan areas. These findings underscore the urgent need for intensified prevention and treatment strategies to address the rising mortality associated with PHD, particularly among vulnerable populations. Insights from this study offer valuable guidance for public health initiatives aimed at reducing PHD-related mortality and improving outcomes nationwide
Cleavage and Sub-Cellular Redistribution of Nuclear Pore Protein 98 by Coxsackievirus B3 Protease 2A Impairs Cardioprotection.
Myocarditis, inflammation of the heart muscle, affects all demographics and is a major cause of sudden and unexpected death in young people. It is most commonly caused by viral infections of the heart, with coxsackievirus B3 (CVB3) being among the most prevalent pathogens. To understand the molecular pathogenesis of CVB3 infection and provide strategies for developing treatments, we examined the role of a key nuclear pore protein 98 (NUP98) in the setting of viral myocarditis. NUP98 was cleaved as early as 2 h post-CVB3 infection. This cleavage was further verified through both the ectopic expression of viral proteases and in vitro using purified recombinant CVB3 proteases (2A and 3C), which demonstrated that CVB3 2A but not 3C is responsible for this cleavage. By immunostaining and confocal imaging, we observed that cleavage resulted in the redistribution of NUP98 to punctate structures in the cytoplasm. Targeted siRNA knockdown of NUP98 during infection further increased viral protein expression and viral titer, and reduced cell viability, suggesting a potential antiviral role of NUP98. Moreover, we discovered that expression levels of neuregulin-1 (NRG1), a cardioprotective gene, and presenilin-1 (PSEN1), a cellular protease processing the tyrosine kinase receptor ERBB4 of NRG1, were reliant upon NUP98 and were downregulated during CVB3 infection. In addition, expression of these NUP98 target genes in myocardium tissue not only occurred at an earlier phase of infection, but also appeared in areas away from the initial inflammatory regions. Collectively, CVB3-induced cleavage of NUP98 and subsequent impairment of the cardioprotective NRG1-ERBB4/PSEN1 signaling cascade may contribute to increased myocardial damage in the context of CVB3-induced myocarditis. To our knowledge, this is the first study to demonstrate the link between NUP98 and the NRG1 signaling pathway in viral myocarditis. © Copyright © 2019 Hanson, Hossain, Qiu, Zhang, Zhao, Li, Lin, Sulaimon, Vlok, Fung, Chen, Jan, McManus, Granville and Yang
