Hagiografía y filología: el caso peculiar de la "Vita Didaci" (Santa María de Benevívere)

Sobre el ejemplo de la Vita Didaci, un poema del s. XIII sobre Diego Martínez, fundador del monasterio de Santa María de Benevivere (Carrión de los Condes, Palencia), la autora muestra, por un lado, la utilidad de la labor filológica para conseguir un mejor conocimiento de los textos hagiográficos y, por otro, cómo encaja una obra medieval concreta en la etiqueta generalizadora de hagiografía. Para esto último se han examinado en la Vita todos los aspectos definidos por los estudiosos como específicamente hagiográficos y se ha observado que no todos están presentes y algunos de ellos ofrecen características muy peculiares y distintas.Against the background provided by the Vita Didaci -a 13th-century poem on Diego Martínez, the founder of the monastery of St. Maria de Benevivere (Carrión de los Condes)-, the author shows, on the one hand, the usefulness of philological study for a better understanding of hagiographical texts, and, on the other, how a specific medieval work fits into the generalizing label of hagiography. As regards the latter issue, all the aspects considered by the scholars as typically hagiographical have been examined in the Vita. Conectando la teoría con la práctica en asignaturas de Ingeniería Química

Este trabajo presenta el diseño de una asignatura virtual de Operaciones Básicas en Ingeniería Química de pregrado y su implementación en la plataforma WebCT. La opinión, uso e impacto en el rendimiento académico de un grupo de alumnos es analizado mediante un cuestionario de satisfacción. Esta información permitió determinar la percepción positiva de los estudiantes hacia los contenidos visuales como complemento importante en el estudio de las materias. Sin embargo, no usaron activamente la herramienta visual en su aprendizaje, pero esto no se tradujo negativamente en el rendimiento de los estudiantes. Demasiadas clases presenciales, demasiadas actividades y tareas, así como un nivel homogéneo medio-alto de los estudiantes son las causas que explicarían la poca incidencia en este curso del apoyo virtual

The use of smart coatings for metal corrosion control

The present contribution aims at presenting some relevant developments in the characterisation of corrosion phenomena in the presence of two commonly employed coating types: organic coatings and inorganic (Portland cement) based coatings; the former acts as physical barriers to water access and aggressive ions to the metallics substrate. But only the cement-based coatings provide an additional chemical protection barrier due to the high pH, favouring steel passivation. Current strategies to improve the performance of these coatings consist of giving them self-healing characteristics, which extend their service life. Un análisis del concepto de acoso sexual laboral: reflexiones y orientaciones para la investigación y la intervención social

Sexual harassment in the workplace is the main topic of this article, undertaken in response to the need to shed further light on a reality of undeniable interest and relevance that has become a major social problem in the labor market. From the review of the identification, conceptualization and treatment of the phenomenon, we analyse the main definitions of sexual harassment at workplace, confirming that there is no clear consensus. Through the deconstruction of the concept, we identify some of the main elements of the conceptual structure and the positions and limitations of each definition before them, trying to answer some of the methodological questions that arise in research and social intervention on this complex fact.El acoso sexual laboral es la temática principal de este artículo, realizado atendiendo a la necesidad de aportar más conocimientos sobre una realidad de indudable interés y relevancia que se ha ido configurando como un importante problema social en la esfera laboral. A partir de la revisión del proceso de identificación, conceptualización y tratamiento del fenómeno, se analizan algunas de las principales definiciones de acoso sexual laboral, constatando que no existe un claro consenso al respecto. A través de la deconstrucción del concepto, se identifican los principales elementos de la estructura conceptual, así como los posicionamientos y limitaciones de cada definición ante los mismos. El artículo concluye con una serie de propuestas y orientaciones que pretenden dar respuesta a los diversos interrogantes metodológicos que surgen a la hora de investigar e intervenir socialmente en esta compleja realidad

Social capital and knowledge in interorganizational networks: Their joint effect on innovation

This research analyzes the effects of interorganizational links on innovation using a comprehensive framework that integrates three research streams: social capital, knowledge based view and innovation. Using data from 143 R&D and/or marketing departments of innovative manufacturing and service companies, our results show that while knowledge complexity, per se, exerts a clear influence on the degree of innovations radicalness, the effect of knowledge tacitness appears only when it is combined with social capital. Similarly, the mere existence of strong cooperation agreements (relational social capital) does not guarantee more radical innovations. It is only when this social capital is combined with tacit knowledge that it really produces more innovative products. Individualization and Electrical Characterization of SiGe Nanowires

SiGe nanowires of different Ge atomic fractions up to 15% were grown and ex-situ n-type doped by diffusion from a solid source in contact with the sample. The phenomenon of dielectrophoresis was used to locate single nanowires between pairs of electrodes in order to carry out electrical measurements. Application of blended learning in accounting. Experience in different degrees in higher education

La incorporación de las nuevas tecnologías de la información y la comunicación en la enseñanza está dando lugar al desarrollo de nuevas metodologías docentes, como es el aprendizaje combinado. En este trabajo se muestran los resultados de una experiencia de aprendizaje combinado realizada en la asignatura de Contabilidad General que se imparte en el primer año en cuatro titulaciones de la Universidad de Granada (Doble titulación en Administración de Empresas y Derecho, Licenciatura en Administración de Empresas, Licenciatura en Economía y Diplomatura en Ciencias Empresariales) con 1.431 alumnos matriculados en el curso académico 2009-2010. El trabajo se centra en el análisis de las medidas objetivas y subjetivas de los resultados obtenidos por los alumnos, considerando cada titulación de forma independiente. Como medida objetiva se considera la nota final obtenida por los alumnos que han participado en esta experiencia de aprendizaje combinado. Como medida de carácter subjetivo se utiliza la percepción que tienen los alumnos sobre la utilidad, motivación y satisfacción de la experiencia de aprendizaje combinado llevada a cabo en las distintas titulaciones. Para recopilar los datos de carácter subjetivo se realizó un cuestionario, obteniéndose 985 respuestas válidas. Los resultados del trabajo muestran que el empleo del aprendizaje combinado tiene en todas las titulaciones un efecto positivo en la reducción de la tasa de abandono de la asignatura y en la mejora de la tasa de aprobados. Además, en todas las titulaciones, los estudiantes se encuentran satisfechos con el aprendizaje combinado, lo consideran útil y motivador y las percepciones de los estudiantes están relacionadas entre sí. Hay diferencias, según la titulación, en las variables que inciden en las calificaciones de los alumnos. No obstante, en general, están positivamente relacionadas con la nota de entrada a la universidad y del nivel de asistencia a clase.The incorporation of new technologies of information and communication in education is stimulating new teaching methodologies such as blended learning. This paper shows the results of a blended learning experience in the General Accounting subject offered by the University of Granada, for the first year undergraduate courses (in Business Administration and Management, in Economics, in Business Studies and in the double course, Business Administration/Law) with 1431 students in the academic year 2009-2010. This research uses objective and subjective measures of performance of students. We have considered the final mark as an objective measure. As a subjective measure we use the students' perception of the usefulness, motivation and satisfaction from the experience of blended learning carried out in the different degrees. We designed a questionnaire to collect subjective data and we obtained 985 valid responses. The results showed that the use of blended learning has a positive effect in reducing the dropout rate of the subject and in improving the exam marks. In addition, students are satisfied with blended learning, find it useful and motivating and perceptions of the students are related between them. There are differences, depending on the degree, in the variables that affect students’ final marks in each degree. However, in general, final marks depend on background and class attendance rate
