Vibration analysis using a mobile phone accelerometer
The bachelor thesis deals with the question whether or not measurements of vibrations can be taken with a mobile phone. For that purpose I made an experiment to compare data measured with a mobile phone and data measured with professional gauging equipment. I also focused on finding the most commonly used accelometer in mobile phones as well as on finding and comparing suitable mobile apps for recording vibrations with mobile phones.
Development of ornaments thorough the history and application in visual communication
Interferon-λ in HCV Infection and Therapy
Chronic infection with hepatitis C virus (HCV) is associated with significant liver disease and is therefore an important public health problem. The current standard-of-care therapy for chronic HCV infection consists of a combination of pegylated (PEG) interferon (IFN)-α and ribavirin. Although this therapy effectively generates a sustained viral response in approximately half of treated individuals, it is associated with significant hematological and neurological side effects. A new family of IFN-related proteins (IFN-λ1, 2, and 3; or alternately, IL-29, 28A, 28B, respectively) possesses properties that may make these cytokines superior to PEG-IFN-α for HCV therapy. Genetic studies have also implicated these proteins in both the natural and therapy-induced resolution of HCV infection. This review summarizes the basic aspects of IFN-λ biology, the potential role of these cytokines in HCV infection, and the outlook for their therapeutic application

Selected neurological complications of oncological treatment — literature overview
Treatment in oncology may lead to several adverse side effects, including those affecting the nervous system. These side effects may reduce the quality of life of patients, both during and after treatment, and may necessitate changes in the treatment regimen or reduction of drug doses, thus reducing the effectiveness of therapy. The knowledge of therapy-induced side effects is essential for their early recognition and differentiation from symptoms resulting from the progression of neoplastic disease, metabolic disorders, or infections, requiring prompt initiation of causal treatment. This article presents the current state of knowledge regarding central and peripheral neurotoxicity of treatment in oncology. Adverse effects described after chemo- and radiotherapy are better known but still limit the potential possibilities of the applied treatment. Neurotoxicities of targeted therapy and immunotherapy, which are of increasing importance in the era of personalization of treatment, are presented
