Understanding the impact of EU prostitution policies on sex workers: a mixed study systematic review
Preparing the return home of the children with cancer
Children with oncologic disease, between treatments, if there are no complications,
return home until the next treatment. Planning the discharge is essential
to promote a continuity of cares at home. An adequate preparation for discharge
leads to a better management of collateral e+ects and to a minor risk of rehospitalisation.
The goals of this study were: to identify the preparation for discharge
performed to the parents / caregivers of children / adolescents with cancer submitted
to chemotherapy; to identify the strategies of preparation for discharge.
A qualitative, exploratory, descriptive and transversal study was developed. After
the return home, 11 parents of children with cancer submitted to chemotherapy
treatment, participated in the study. Data was collected using a semi-structured interview
and its treatment made using content analyses, based on Bardin. From the
data analyses emerged the domain The Return Home that aggregates the category
Preparation for Discharge and its subcategories: Oral Information, Written Information,
Comprehensibility of the Information and Information Content. The return
home is simultaneously a desired and feared moment. Parents and children return
to their environment, but face di<culties in daily life activities, due to the fear that
is provoked by the child’s vulnerability. This way, the return home should be prepared
early and adequate to the singular context of each family. Oral information
should be reinforced by written information, given the di<culty to process it. The
comprehensibility and the content of information are peremptory components in
the preparation for discharge.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
Children with cancer nutrition at home
The children nutrition is one of the problems that parents have to manage at home,
after treatment of an oncological disease. Nutritional commitment may prolong
episodes of neutropenia and compromise the e+ectiveness of treatments. The
goals of this study were: to identify the needs of parents/caregivers in the management
of children/adolescents nutrition with cancer undergoing chemotherapy
treatment, at home; to characterize parental strategies in the management of
children's nutrition at home, after chemotherapy. A qualitative, exploratory, descriptive
and cross-sectional study was developed with eleven parents of children
with cancer, who underwent chemotherapy treatment, after returning home. Data
were collected through a semi-structured interview and analyzed according to Bardin.
From the analysis of content emerged the domain The Life at Home and the
category Nutrition. Home Life for parents of the child with cancer presents several
challenges, particularly in nutritional management, in the face of reduced food
intake and the new rules imposed by the neutropenic diet. Thus, parents resort
to several strategies to manage this problem: recourse to new practices in food
confectionery; changes in the diet of the whole family; insistence/verbal pressure;
distraction; reward after negotiation; supply a varied and nutritious diet; questioning/
accepting the food preference; organic food. Despite appealing to the multiplicity
of strategies, the subjects of this study require the need for more structured
support so that at home, they can respond to the challenges they face in their daily

Media reporting and coverage of suicide in Portuguese media
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) there are one million suicides every year
worldwide. Although suicide media coverage does not promote suicidal behaviors, the way
the phenomenon is portrayed by the media may have that impact. Media could have an
active role in suicide prevention, and so it is important to understand their approach to this
issue. We will analyze media’s representations of suicide, through the news published in six
Portuguese newspapers in 2013. Our theoretical framework is within the news framing, and
we will apply critical discourse analysis tools in order to analyze suicide texts thoroughly.(undefined
More and more, communication has a bigger role in people´s lives, whether professionally or socially, contributing for human skills development at all levels.
Written communication’s main goal is to transmit something considered important to one or several interlocutors. Thus, new information and communication technologies are a great influence, considering that, nowadays written communication not only depends on writing a simple text. It goes much further once that in the actual global world it is possible to communicate with any part of the globe in few seconds.
Education has kept up with all the changes because school is the place where children have the first contact with the native language, foreign or even a second language as a system.
In this context we can say that education took a step forward to communication aiming to develop competences or different skills to communicate through out oral and written language.
Opposed to the traditional written text as something that the students hand to the teacher to be thoroughly corrected, some alternatives have appeared considering that the written skills development is a process that involves all of the educational agents: students, class and teacher.
Now, all of the teaching process is focused on the student, but always allowing teacher´s intervention as the leader of the process.
On this account, this report was developed considering the communicative competences in Spanish language classes, during my training year. There were developed some strategies and materials to improve these competences of the foreign language – Spanish, never forgetting the concept of formative evaluation
This thesis aimed do understand if presenteeism, workaholism and organizational citizenship behaviors are concepts that overlap given that there are similarities between them. To confirm its overlap or distinction, we also investigated the effects these variables have on well-being at work. This study involved 403 professionally active individuals from various sectors of activity. We did several principal component analysis and correlation analysis to test our research question and multiple linear regressions were conducted to test the effects of the three variables on well-being at work. The results showed that the productivity gains associated with presenteeism, workaholism and organizational citizenship behaviors are distinct constructs and hypotheses of this study were partially confirmed. It was found that presenteeism and workaholism negatively affect the well-being at work while organizational citizenship behaviors positively affect well-being at work

Influence of calcium acetate concentration in electrolyte on tribocorrosion behaviour of MAO treated titanium
Ti-based materials are widely used for dental and orthopaedic implant applications due to their adequate mechanical properties, corrosion behaviour and biocompatibility. However, these materials are biologically inert and display poor wear resistance. In one of the most studied processes that aims to overcome these drawbacks, Ti surfaces are often covered by anodic oxide films with the incorporation of bioactive agents such as Ca and P. Although there are several works on the tribocorrosion behaviour of MAO-treated Ti surfaces, the influence of electrolyte composition on the corrosion kinetics under sliding is yet to be fully understood. In the present work, anodic oxide films were produced on cp-Ti surfaces with different calcium acetate concentrations in the electrolyte. Tribocorrosion behaviour was investigated by reciprocating sliding tests performed in 8 g/L NaCl solution at body temperature, under potentiostatic conditions. The results showed that higher concentrations of calcium acetate had a detrimental effect on tribocorrosion kinetics, however, they resulted in less mechanical damage due to alterations in the topography and structure of the MAO layer. This work was supported by Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), Portugal, under UIDB/04436/2020 project. The predictive value of dyadic coping in the explanation of PTSD symptoms and subjective well-being of work accident victims
Objective: Work accidents may be considered dyadic stressors in so far as they not only affect the worker, but also the couple's relationship. Dyadic coping, as the process by which couples manage the stress experienced by each partner, can strengthen individual health and well-being as well as couple relationship functioning. Accidents at work have progressively been studied from a perspective that focuses on their negative effects on PTSS, anxiety, and depression. However, to a large extent, the dyadic coping processes and results following a work accident are still to be identified and clarified. In this study, we examined the predictive value of dyadic coping in the explanation of PTSS and subjective well-being of work accident victims. Method: This study comprised a sample of 62 individuals involved in work accidents within the last 24 months (61.3% males) and their partners (N = 124; M = 46.25 years, SD = 11.18). All participants responded to the Dyadic Coping Inventory and the work accident victims also answered the PTSD Checklist - Civilian (PCL-C) and the Mental Health Continuum - Short Form (MHC-SF). Two hierarchical multiple regression analyses were performed using two different variable set models: Model 1 comprised the control variables gender and age, and Model 2 included the workers' and the partners' dyadic coping variables. Results: Results showed that dyadic coping reported by both workers and their respective partners (Model 2) was a significant predictor of workers' PTSS (p < 0.01) and subjective well-being (p < 0.001), explaining 31.2% of the variance in PCL-C and 68.7% in MHC-SF results. More specifically, the partners' supportive dyadic coping (by the self) and delegated dyadic coping (by the partner) were significant predictors of the workers' lower PTSS and virtually all the dyadic copying strategies of both the workers' and their partners' were significant predictors of the workers' higher subjective well-being. Conclusion: Dyadic coping of both the workers and their partners predicts the workers' PTSS and subjective well-being. These findings point to the need to work with couples who have experienced a work accident, with a view to improving the workers' mental health outcomes.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersio
