Lexicon-based Sentiment Analysis for Product Design and Development

This paper discusses the role of text mining and sentiment analysis in collecting and analyzing customers’ verbatim/voice of the customer for product design and development. In the illustration case of designing car underbody, the data were collected from a car online forum discussion website and processed using text mining techniques with “underbody” as a keyword. The result of the analysis finds there are worries regarding underbody durability against rust and damages. This finding is used as a reference point for the car underbody design process

Literature Review of Job Description: Meta-analysis

A job description document is a formal document that exists in the organization that usually has a formal social structure. Whether it is a small-scale organization to a large-scale organization, every formal organization usually has this document. The study presented in this paper tries to present the summary of the research related to the job description document. In the previous research, there is less attention has been given to explore the role of a job description in the various aspects of decision making in the company. Therefore, the importance and the role of the job description to the company, especially in supporting decision-making in the company, is explored in this study. In this study, we reviewed 43 papers published between 2001 and 2021. Several aspects related to job description such as 1) Definition of the job description; 2) Development of job descriptions; and 3) Benefits of job descriptions based on four reviewed papers are explained. The selected articles are taken from the article database engine: Emerald Insight, Semantic Scholar, Proquest, Science Direct, Elsevier, Springer Link with the keyword "Job Description". The intention of this review is to address the following questions related to (i) in what aspect the research related to job descriptions are conducted; (ii) what the contribution of job descriptions document to the decision-making in the company

Business Intelligence for Decision Support System for Replenishment Policy in Mining Industry

The mining industry has unique characteristics in the sense that usually, the plant is located in a remote area while the headquarters are located in an urban area. These conditions pose challenges for the industry related to coordination within companies. This coordination is very important, especially in relation to the decision-making that must be carried out by the company. One of the important managerial decisions is related to the replenishment policy. To make replenishment decisions, companies need past data, such as biodiesel consumption rate, and current data, such as current stock and storage capacity, where the source of those data is in the plant. Often, decisions must be taken quickly because they have impacts on the continuousness of production operations at the plant. However, the remote location and shipping routes across rivers have created new challenges in the flow of goods and services supply because the shipment depends on the tides of the river. This research proposes a business intelligence system that collects, sorts, and visualizes data, then analyzes the replenishment decision to support decision-making in the mining industry. The system uses Microsoft Power BI software which is integrated with the company’s ERP system. To illustrate the applicability of the proposed system, it is applied to a coal mining company, especially in relation to the replenishment policy of biofuel. The result of this study indicates that the proposed system can work. In addition, it can reduce decision-making time by 220.65%.

Comparative Analysis of AHP and Fuzzy AHP in Supplier Selection Problem

Appropriate supplier can lead the company to reach its competitive advantage. Many researchers have been conducting research in supplier selection problem using various multi-criteria decision making methods, including the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and its variation, such as Fuzzy AHP (FAHP). The research in this paper is trying to apply both AHP and FAHP in a glove manufacturer in order to see the role of the expert to the result of both methods. Four experts who are the staff in that company that have been working for 12-16 years are involved to see if FAHP is still needed. The FAHP method in this paper is based on the FAHP model developed by Chang (1996)

Usulan Perancangan Standarisasi Proses Sand Casting untuk Mengurangi Produk Cacat pada Pembuatan Cetakan Kue di IKM Logam Fauzan

IKM Pak Fauzan merupakan Industri Kecil Menengah yang bergerak di bidang manufaktur dalam memproduksi cetakan kue dari material aluminium bekas dengan teknik sand casting. Berdasarkan identifikasi permasalahan dan diskusi dengan stakeholder, didapatkan permasalahan produk cacat sebagai permasalahan utama yang ingin diselesaikan. Berdasarkan analisis diagram interelasi disertai diskusi dengan stakeholder didapatkan penyebab utama terjadinya produk cacat adalah seluruh proses produksinya masih dijalankan atas dasar intuisi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksternalisasi dalam knowledge management yang membantu menyelesaikan permasalahan produk cacat di IKM Pak Fauzan. Pengalaman dari para stakeholder yang sudah menjalankan produksi bertahun – tahun diubah dari tacit knowledge menjadi explicit knowledge. Solusi yang terpilih yaitu penyusunan panduan yang didukung dokumentasi untuk mengeksplisitkan pengetahuan produksi dari stakeholder. Setiap proses produksi yang dieksplisitkan dipertajam dengan pengukuran kuantitatif yang membantu merumuskan tacit knowledge dari stakeholder. Penelitian yang dilakukan menghasilkan panduan produksi yang berisi 5 aktivitas utama seperti persiapan material, peleburan, pembuatan cetakan, dan penuangan, serta finishing. Panduan yang sudah disetujui stakeholder kemudian diimplementasikan dengan menjalankan proses produksi berdasarkan panduan tersebut. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penurunan produk cacat 4,02% dari 8,05% sebelum dilakukan implementasi menjadi 4,02% setelah implementasi. Perbaikan yang dilakukan mencapai target penelitian yaitu menghasilkan produk cacat di bawah 5%, panduan yang mudah dipahami pekerja, serta sesuai preferensi konsumen dengan tetap menggunakan sand casting

Ritel Berkelanjutan: Analisis Berbasis Bibliometrik dan Text Mining

Keberlanjutan merupakan isu yang sedang hangat dibicarakan saat ini baik pada sektor manufaktur maupun jasa, termasuk ritel. Telah terdapat berbagai penelitian yang sudah dilakukan khususnya terkait dengan topik ritel berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyediakan tinjauan pustaka dan pemetaan topik yang relevan dengan ritel berkelanjutan yang dilakukan dengan analisis bibliometrik dan text mining. Dataset artikel berasal dari basis data Scopus yang dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kata kunci relevan. Terdapat empat kelompok artikel yang terbentuk: (1) menajemen rantai pasok dan ritel yang berorientasi pada model hijau, (2) strategi bisnis berkelanjutan pada industri ritel, (3) pengurangan limbah makanan pada industri ritel, dan (4) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) pada industi ritel. Kelompok topik (2) merupakan kelompok dengan populasi artikel terbanyak, diikuti kelompok topik (1), (3), dan (4). Penelitian berhasil memetakan sebaran artikel yang relevan dengan ritel berkelanjutan dan saran untuk penelitian lanjutan yang dapat dilakukan pada bidang ritel berkelanjutan

A forward with backward inventory policy algorithm for nonlinear increasing demand and shortage backorders

The traditional inventory policies have been developed for constant demand processes. In reality, demand is not always stable; it might have an increasing pattern. In this paper, a forward with backward inventory policy algorithm is developed to determine the operational parameters of an inventory system with a nonlinear increasing demand rate, shortage backorders and a finite planning horizon. Numerical experiments are also conducted to compare the results with the existing techniques and to illustrate the applicability of the proposed technique

PENERAPAN 5S (SEIRI, SEITON, SEISO, SEIKETSU, SHITSUKE) PADA PENGECORAN LOGAM IKM WINTOLO DI YOGYAKARTA

Lima S (5S) merupakan metode yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan kebersihan, keteraturan, dan kedisiplinan di lingkungan kerja. Terdapat kerja sama antara UPT Logam Dinas Perindustrian Koperasi Usaha Kecil dan Menengah Kota Yogyakarta, BKSTI Korwil 5 DIY, dan Prodi-Prodi Teknik Industri di DIY untuk meningkatkan kinerja IKM-IKM logam di Kota Yogyakarta. Salah satu IKM logam tersebut bernama IKM Wintolo yang terletak di Umbulharjo, DIY. Penataan alat-alat produksi di IKM Wintolo tersebut masih belum baik oleh karena itu IKM tersebut membutuhkan pelatihan dan penerapan 5S. Hal tersebut bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kecepatan produksi dari IKM tersebut. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada bulan September-November 2022. Kegiatan ini dimulai dengan survai kondisi lingkungan kerja di IKM tersebut, pemberian materi tentang 5S, pemasangan rak dan labelnya di area kerja, serta penempatan barang-barang tersebut pada rak yang telah disediakan. Materi pelatihan dan rak penyimpanan barang dapat diterima dengan baik oleh IKM tersebut. IKM tersebut dapat melakukan aktivitas produksi dengan lebih cepat karena posisi alat-alat produksi sudah mudah ditemukan karena sudah memiliki tempat penyimpanan sendiri-sendiri. Kegiatan pelatihan dan penerapan 5S ini sangat bermanfaat bagi IKM tersebut karena dapat meningkatkan kecepatan proses produksi produk logam. Kolaborasi antara UPT Logam, BKSTI Korwil 5 DIY, dan prodi Teknik Industri dalam meningkatkan link and match di antara pelaku industri dan pelaku akademik sangat bermanfaat dalam memajukan IKM tersebut. Kegiatan kolaborasi seperti diharapkan dapat terus terjaga dan berlanjut demi kemajuan bersama antara pelaku industri dan pelaku akademik
