    Analysis of Current Situation and Prospect of Wind Power Energy Cooperation Between China and Jordan Under “One Belt and One Road” Initiative

    The “One Belt and One Road” initiative is a great measure to promote the economic development of countries along the line the “B&R” and realizes common economic prosperity. With the continuous development of global economy, the demand for energy is increasing. The excessive use of traditional fossil fuels has led to environmental degradation. Therefore, it has become a consensus to develop green energy cooperation between countries. Different from traditional fossil energy, wind energy is one of the most available clean energy sources, which does not produce pollution and is cheap and easy to obtain. Thus, it is an ideal clean energy. This paper uses literature and survey methods to analyze and research the development situation of wind power energy resources in Jordan and the development of wind power technology in China. Through the analysis of data and examples, this paper aims to put forward suggestions and prospects for the cooperation between China and Jordan and provides references for other countries

    The Subtitle Translation of Wolf Warriors From the Perspective of Multimodal Discourse Analysis

    With the rapid advancement of multimedia technology, multimodal discourse analysis has gradually become one of the linguistic research hotspots and it integrates the modalities of other fields such as images, sounds, colors and so on to jointly present the complete meaning of the work. The film subtitles are different from traditional paper texts, and their translation is not only a simple text conversion, but also involves complex factors of the transformation of source language and target language culture. From the perspective of multimodal discourse analysis, this paper studies the subtitle translation of Wolf Warriors by using Professor Zhang Delu’s multimodal theory as a framework from cultural level, context level, content level and expression level to analyze how this theory affects the subtitle translation of the film Wolf Warriors and provides valuable suggestions for other film subtitle translation

    Design and characterization of protein-quercetin bioactive nanoparticles

    <p>Abstract</p> <p>Background</p> <p>The synthesis of bioactive nanoparticles with precise molecular level control is a major challenge in bionanotechnology. Understanding the nature of the interactions between the active components and transport biomaterials is thus essential for the rational formulation of bio-nanocarriers. The current study presents a single molecule of bovine serum albumin (BSA), lysozyme (Lys), or myoglobin (Mb) used to load hydrophobic drugs such as quercetin (Q) and other flavonoids.</p> <p>Results</p> <p>Induced by dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), BSA, Lys, and Mb formed spherical nanocarriers with sizes less than 70 nm. After loading Q, the size was further reduced by 30%. The adsorption of Q on protein is mainly hydrophobic, and is related to the synergy of Trp residues with the molecular environment of the proteins. Seven Q molecules could be entrapped by one Lys molecule, 9 by one Mb, and 11 by one BSA. The controlled releasing measurements indicate that these bioactive nanoparticles have long-term antioxidant protection effects on the activity of Q in both acidic and neutral conditions. The antioxidant activity evaluation indicates that the activity of Q is not hindered by the formation of protein nanoparticles. Other flavonoids, such as kaempferol and rutin, were also investigated.</p> <p>Conclusions</p> <p>BSA exhibits the most remarkable abilities of loading, controlled release, and antioxidant protection of active drugs, indicating that such type of bionanoparticles is very promising in the field of bionanotechnology.</p

    Uncertainty-informed Mutual Learning for Joint Medical Image Classification and Segmentation

    Classification and segmentation are crucial in medical image analysis as they enable accurate diagnosis and disease monitoring. However, current methods often prioritize the mutual learning features and shared model parameters, while neglecting the reliability of features and performances. In this paper, we propose a novel Uncertainty-informed Mutual Learning (UML) framework for reliable and interpretable medical image analysis. Our UML introduces reliability to joint classification and segmentation tasks, leveraging mutual learning with uncertainty to improve performance. To achieve this, we first use evidential deep learning to provide image-level and pixel-wise confidences. Then, an Uncertainty Navigator Decoder is constructed for better using mutual features and generating segmentation results. Besides, an Uncertainty Instructor is proposed to screen reliable masks for classification. Overall, UML could produce confidence estimation in features and performance for each link (classification and segmentation). The experiments on the public datasets demonstrate that our UML outperforms existing methods in terms of both accuracy and robustness. Our UML has the potential to explore the development of more reliable and explainable medical image analysis models. We will release the codes for reproduction after acceptance.Comment: 13 page

    Dynamic interplays between three redox cofactors in a DNA photolyase revealed by spectral decomposition

    DNA repair catalyzed by photolyases is accomplished by a light-dependent electron transfer event from a fully reduced flavin adenine dinucleotide to a DNA lesion site. Prokaryotic DNA photolyase, PhrB, possesses a ribolumazine cofactor and a four-iron-four-sulfur cluster in addition to the catalytic flavin, but their functional roles are poorly understood. Here, we employ time-resolved absorption spectroscopy to probe light-induced responses in both solution and single crystals of PhrB. We jointly analyze a large collection of light-induced difference spectra from the wild-type and mutant PhrB obtained under different light and redox conditions. By applying singular value decomposition to 159 time series, we dissect light-induced spectral changes and examine the dynamic interplay between three cofactors. Our findings suggest that these cofactors form an interdependent redox network to coordinate light-induced redox responses. We propose that the ribolumazine cofactor serves as a photoprotective pigment under intense light or prolonged illumination, while the iron-sulfur cluster acts as a transient electron cache to maintain balance between two otherwise independent photoreactions of the flavin and ribolumazine

    Involvement of Lysosome Membrane Permeabilization and Reactive Oxygen Species Production in the Necrosis Induced by Chlamydia muridarum Infection in L929 Cells

    Chlamydiae, obligate intracellular bacteria, are associated with a variety of human diseases. The chlamydial life cycle undergoes a biphasic development: replicative reticulate bodies (RBs) phase and infectious elementary bodies (EBs) phase. At the end of the chlamydial intracellular life cycle, EBs have to be released to the surrounded cells. Therefore, the interactions between Chlamydiae and cell death pathways could greatly influence the outcomes of Chlamydia infection. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms remain elusive. Here, we investigated host cell death after Chlamydia infection in vitro, in L929 cells, and showed that Chlamydia infection induces cell necrosis, as detected by the propidium iodide (PI)-Annexin V double-staining flow-cytometric assay and Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release assay. The production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), an important factor in induction of necrosis, was increased after Chlamydia infection, and inhibition of ROS with specific pharmacological inhibitors, diphenylene iodonium (DPI) or butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), led to significant suppression of necrosis. Interestingly, live-cell imaging revealed that Chlamydia infection induced lysosome membrane permeabilization (LMP). When an inhibitor upstream of LMP, CA-074-Me, was added to cells, the production of ROS was reduced with concomitant inhibition of necrosis. Taken together, our results indicate that Chlamydia infection elicits the production of ROS, which is dependent on LMP at least partially, followed by induction of host-cell necrosis. To our best knowledge, this is the first live-cell-imaging observation of LMP post Chlamydia infection and report on the link of LMP to ROS to necrosis during Chlamydia infection. </p

    Multiscale Understanding of Electric Polarization in Poly(vinylidene fluoride)-Based Ferroelectric Polymers

    Poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) and PVDF-based copolymers with trifluoroethylene (PVDF-TrFE) have attracted considerable academic and industrial interest due to their ferroelectric properties, which are only presented in very few polymers. However, the underlying fundamentals of molecular ordering and induced polarizations are complex and not fully understood. Herein, PVDF, PVDF-TrFE and their blends, prepared using melt extrusion and hot pressing, have been selected to obtain controlled case studies with well-defined chain ordering and microstructures. Impedance analysis and terahertz time-domain spectroscopy are exploited to investigate electric polarization in PVDF-based polymers at different length scales. The extruded ferroelectric films show in-plane chain orientation and higher domain wall density compared to hot pressed films with randomly-distributed polymer chains, which favors the polarization at low frequencies (Hz to MHz), as concluded from the higher dielectric constants and more prominent high electric field polarization switching features. However, the domain walls cannot respond at high frequencies, which leads to lower dielectric constants in the extruded films at THz frequencies

    Early diagenesis and benthic fluxes of redox-sensitive metals in eastern China shelf sediments

    Thirteen Short sediment cores (30-50 cm) were collected from Bohai Sea, Yellow Sea and Changjiang Estuary in China, and the early diagenesis of several redox sensitive metals (Fe, Mn, Mo, U and V, referring to as RSMs) in sediment were studied. The recycling process of Mo and Mn was closely correlated with each other, generating benthic fluxes diffusing upward from sediment to overlying water column, and the flux rates are related to the organic carbon oxidation rates. The recycling of U and V were more tightly coupled with Fe oxides, generating benthic fluxes going downward into the sediment in most cores. Significant authigenic accumulation of U, in contrary to little to no accumulation of Mo and V, were found in the study region, even in Changjiang Estuary where hypoxic condition was often found during summer. Benthic diffusive fluxes were compared with authigenic mass accumulate rates (MAR), which indicated that, besides the benthic diffusion process, there are other processes controlling the authigenic accumulation of the RSMs. The close relationships between authigenic accumulation of RSMs with OCburial and OCburial with Sburial, indicating the authigenic accumulation of RSMs is a consequence of redox environment in shelf sediment, which directly influencing the organic carbon degradation process. Compared with other continental margin, moderate enrichment of U was found in China continental sediment. The authigenic U accumulation in BS and NYS sediments accounted for 20 - 68% of the Yellow River input, whilst in SYS sediments accounted for ~ 64% of the Yellow River and Changjiang River input, which acting as important U sinks that cannot be ignored
