To what extent does the knowledge gap between client’s expectations and project construction team deliverables adversely impact commercial (Office Buildings) BIM projects?

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an evaluation methodology that has the potential to achieve an adequate communication of information between different construction project stakeholders and clients. Due to the amount of information involved in construction projects and the requirement in control of time, cost and waste, BIM can be perceived as a future-proofed design, construction and Facilities Management (FM) process. Having been involved in various projects working to Level 2 BIM standards over the past 3 years the author has seen a gap in terms of client’s expectations of BIM deliverables and those which are actually produce by the project teams. This is most evident during the building to operations phase at project handover. A better way of communicating the BIM process to client should be implemented, exploiting its full potential, not only through the duration of design and construction phase of the building, but more importantly for the operation and maintenance of the building assets following handover to the client. Literature review was conducted investigating the gaps in communication and client and design and construction team stakeholder perspectives on the BIM process. A prototype solution, aiming to help and bridge the communication gap was derived. The objective of this research, which involved literature review, stakeholder interviews and proposed focus group discussions was to develop a prototype solution with the aim of helping to bridge the gap between client expectations and project team delivery

The main objective of this thesis was aimed to examine the organizational efficiency’s factors of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) to design a model of the development on organizational performance of the State Railway of Thailand. This research is a mixed method. The sample quantitative research using questionnaires from employees of the State Railway of Thailand, totaling 810 people. The sample size is determined by estimating the value of the variable in the ratio of 1 per 20 samples total of 380 people. The samples used in the research, qualitative in-depth interviews of senior management of the State Railway of Thailand, totaling 27 people. The instrument used in quantitative research was a questionnaire. Using techniques of descriptive statistics, the researcher analyzed the data collected in terms of frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation of the observed variable, structural equation modeling (SEM). Statistical analysis revealed that the statistical results from the empirical analysis showed that the variables that measured organizational performance, knowledge management, public sector management quality award, innovation management and change management were appropriate. The results indicated that, consistent with empirical data indicating that a proper measurement. The results of the hypothesis testing revealed that the 4 factors affecting organizational performance of the Railway Authority of Thailand are as follows; 1) Knowledge management has 3 sub-variables consisting of 1.1) knowledge discovery, 1.2) knowledge storage and 1.3) application. 2) Public sector management quality award has 2 sub-variables consisting of 2.1) quality of services and 2.2) quality management. 3) Innovation management has 3 sub-variables consisting of 3.1) individual excellence, 3.2) team excellence and 3.3) organization excellence. 4) Change management has 4 sub-variables consisting of the 4.1) structure, 4.2) technology, 4.3) human resources and 4.4) culture. Based on in-depth interviews concluded that the factors used to create a model to develop effective organizational management of the State Railway of Thailand is the most important factor for knowledge management and change management. The results of qualitative and quantitative research have been used to create a more complete model for the development of corporate governance of the State Railway of Thailand

Between 1562 and 1979, 434 references devoted to animal husbandry in Corsica have been recorded. They have been produced by 312 different authors. Three quarters of the quoted papers trace back to thirty years and half of them have been written these last ten years. This recent and pronounced acceleration is resulting from a governmental pressure in order to improve agriculture, economy and more recently ecologic situation of the island. The more recent works whose quality is in constant progress are originating from about forty different organisms

2015 ACVIM Small Animal Consensus Statement on Seizure Management in Dogs

    Get PDF
This report represents a scientific and working clinical consensus statement on seizure management in dogs based on current literature and clinical expertise. The goal was to establish guidelines for a predetermined, concise, and logical sequential approach to chronic seizure management starting with seizure identification and diagnosis (not included in this report), reviewing decision‐making, treatment strategies, focusing on issues related to chronic antiepileptic drug treatment response and monitoring, and guidelines to enhance patient response and quality of life. Ultimately, we hope to provide a foundation for ongoing and future clinical epilepsy research in veterinary medicine

International Veterinary Epilepsy Task Force consensus proposal: Medical treatment of canine epilepsy in Europe

    Get PDF
In Europe, the number of antiepileptic drugs (AEDs) licensed for dogs has grown considerably over the last years. Nevertheless, the same questions remain, which include, 1) when to start treatment, 2) which drug is best used initially, 3) which adjunctive AED can be advised if treatment with the initial drug is unsatisfactory, and 4) when treatment changes should be considered. In this consensus proposal, an overview is given on the aim of AED treatment, when to start long-term treatment in canine epilepsy and which veterinary AEDs are currently in use for dogs. The consensus proposal for drug treatment protocols, 1) is based on current published evidence-based literature, 2) considers the current legal framework of the cascade regulation for the prescription of veterinary drugs in Europe, and 3) reflects the authors’ experience. With this paper it is aimed to provide a consensus for the management of canine idiopathic epilepsy. Furthermore, for the management of structural epilepsy AEDs are inevitable in addition to treating the underlying cause, if possible
