La Llegenda del llibreter assassí de Barcelona. Tradizione e traduzione. Note al margine dell’edizione italiana

Riassunto: La recente pubblicazione in Italia della traduzione de La llegenda del llibreter assassí di Ramon Miquel i Planas offre lo spunto per un confronto con alcune precedenti traduzioni in castigliano e per una breve riflessione di metodo sulla traduzione. Le due versioni spagnole (1991 e 2011) si configurano infatti, a differenza di quella italiana, come libere rielaborazioni dell’originale dal momento che ne alterano la struttura, trasformando il testo e piegandolo a nuove finalità. L’elemento di interesse di questa «manipolazione» risiede nel fatto che essa è in qualche modo autorizzata dalla stessa natura miscellanea dell’opera di Miquel i Planas, al contempo libro erudito e antologia di materiali narrativi diversi, e dalle variegate forme di trasmissione dei materiali leggendari raccolti dallo studioso catalano. Le versioni della Llegenda consentono così d’iscrivere la riflessione sul tradurre nell’ambito della ricezione e dell’influsso esercitato dalla tradizione di un testo sulle sue modalità di traduzione. Parole chiave: Miquel i Planas; traduzione; rifacimento; tradizione Abstract: The recent publication of the Italian translation of La llegenda del llibreter assassí by Ramon Miquel i Planas provides an opportunity to make a comparison with some previous Spanish translations and to reflect briefly on translation methods. The two Spanish versions (1991 and 2011), unlike the Italian one, are free reworkings of the original, in the sense that they alter the structure, transform the text and shape it to new ends. What is interesting about this «manipulation» is that it is in some way legitimised by the heterogeneous nature of Miquel i Planas’s work, which is both an erudite volume and an anthology of different narrative materials, as well as by the varied ways in which the Catalan scholar handles materials relating to legends. The versions of Llegenda thus permit the inclusion of this reflection on translation in the sphere of the reception of a text and of the influence exerted by the tradition surrounding a text on the ways it is translated. Crónica social y proyecto político en El Cortesano de Luis Milán

El Cortesano de Luis Milán (Valencia 1560), a menudo considerado en el pasado una transposición casi documental de la vida de la corte del Duque de Calabria en la Valencia de alrededor de 1535, ha sido objeto en años más recientes de lecturas críticas que han puesto de relieve la compleja trabazón de esta polifacética obra de ficción. En la línea de esta revaluación, se pone en evidencia cierta ambigüedad de la obra debida a la coexistencia de voces discordes y de temas, personajes e incluso estilos que remiten a épocas distintas, creando, dentro de la articulada estructura de la obra, un sutil desfase cronológico, cultural e ideológico. De hecho, bajo el armazón del diálogo cortesano, que dibuja el conocido cuadro de entretenimientos palaciegos ilustrando la crónica de unos festejos en vilo entre la cultura tardomedieval y la renacentista, se deslizan, casi de manera subrepticia, cuestiones religiosas y políticas más acordes con la época de Felipe II y con la fecha de impresión del texto. La coexistencia de estos distintos planos parece, además, remitir a diferentes fases de composición y confirmar la hipótesis de un proceso de escritura muy elaborado, desarrollado a lo largo de varias décadas.El Cortesano by Luis Milán (Valencia 1560), which was often previously seen as an almost documentary portrait of life at the Duque de Calabria's Court in Valencia around 1535, has recently been the subject of new critical interpretations that emphasize the complex structure of this multi-dimensional work. In line with this new critical position, the present article highlights a certain ambiguity in the work deriving from the coexistence of discordant voices and of themes, characters and even styles, which hark back to various historical periods and produce a subtle effect of chronological, cultural and ideological displacement. In fact, between the lines of courtly dialogue, which evoke a familiar picture -part medieval, part renaissance- of palace feasting and entertainment, it is possible to discern almost surreptitious references to religious and political matters more closely connected with the age of Felipe II and with the date of the printing of the text. The existence of these different levels seems to suggest that there were different phases in the production of the text and to confirm the hypothesis of an elaborate writing process that took place over several decades

Compactivorous Sets in Banach Spaces

A set $E$ in a Banach space $X$ is compactivorous if for every compact set $K$ in $X$ there is a nonempty, (relatively) open subset of $K$ which can be translated into $E$. In a separable Banach space, this is a sufficient condition which guarantees the Haar nonnegligibility of Borel subsets. We give some characterisations of this property in both separable and nonseparable Banach spaces and prove an extension of the main theorem to countable products of locally compact Polish groups.Comment: 8 pages; v4: Example of a nonfattening group has been added. Do ESG ratings promote green innovation inside the European Union?

The research provides a detailed analysis of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in the context of EU Member States. The impact of ESG metrics is explored, ranging up from their roots conceptualized with Nobel laureate Elinor Ostrom through to their formal introduction in the United Nations Global Compact Initiative report. The study, establishes the role of ESG ratings in driving long-term economic prosperity and societal well-being, highlighting their influence on investor decisions and risk management strategies. Afterwards, the paper investigates the growing importance of green innovation (GI), delineating its diverse nature and its central role in enhancing market competitiveness and environmental sustainability. While exploring diverse facets of GI, from eco-innovation to sustainable innovation, it addresses barriers to adoption and outlines a complete cycle for promoting green innovation. Besides, the intersection of agency theory, stakeholder theory and institutional theory in promoting sustainability and green innovation is examined, highlighting the roles of governments, institutions and stakeholders in shaping policy and organisational responses. A significant contribution of the thesis lies in the empirical analysis of the relationship between ESG ratings and green patenting in EU Member States. Through regression analysis and robustness tests, the thesis establishes a positive correlation between higher ESG ratings and increased green patenting activity, particularly driven by social factors. These results underline the importance of addressing countries disparities and promoting sustainable practices to foster innovation and improve the EU's overall ESG performance

Role of floor diaphragms on the seismic response of reinforced concrete frames

In existing Reinforced Concrete (RC) framed buildings, floor structural components (i.e. RC topping and joists) may play a crucial role in the seismic performance of the structure. The interaction between floor diaphragms and seismic-resistant frames can lead to different effects, depending on the relative stiffness and resistance of the elements belonging to the structures and on the adopted construction details. In this work, these aspects are deepened with reference to the institute “A. De Gasperi – R. Battaglia”, located in Norcia, Italy, chosen as case study. The seismic response of the building is investigated through pushover analyses by adopting a multi-layered shell element approach, where the mechanical nonlinearity is evaluated by using the PARC_CL 2.1 crack model, implemented as user subroutine in Abaqus FE package. The obtained results highlight that the modelling of the diaphragm increases the flexural capacity of the beams, so determining an increase of the seismic global response for frames characterized by ductile failure modes. The modelling of diaphragms may also alter beam-column strength hierarchy and stresses’ magnitude in beam-to-column joints, leading to anticipated brittle failures, that cannot be detected through the modelling of the bare fram

Esce in Italia per i tipi di Marchese Editore e la cura di Donatella Siviero un curioso romanzo apparso in Spagna nel 1886. Ideato da Sinesio Delgado, ma scritto a più mani in collaborazione con altri dieci autori, e pubblicato a puntate su una rivista letteraria madrilena, il romanzo non rappresenta solo un ludico esercizio parodico, ingegnoso e divertente, ma lascia intravedere nella produzione romanzesca spagnola del tardo Ottocento aperture inaspettate e spazi di sperimentazione inediti. Un romanzo che, seppure maturato nell’orbita di una narrativa minore e della letteratura di consumo, rivela uno sguardo attento a quanto accadeva fuori dai confini spagnoli, nonché un’inventiva e una capacità di giocare con le strutture della narrazione che, nel superamento dei limiti della scrittura realista, preparano il terreno per formule narrative che, di lì a poco, con ben altre implicazioni, praticheranno gli scrittori del primo Novecento e le Avanguardie.Delgado, Sinesio et al. Le prestazioni dei team: analisi delle competenze e delle percezioni pre e post COVID-19

L’obiettivo di questa ricerca è duplice: da una parte valutare come sono cambiate le prestazioni dei team dopo-durante la quarantena, con particolare attenzione alla modalità ibrida. Dall’altra parte, individuare se le competenze di intelligenza emotiva e di Smart Attitude sono variabili predittive per prestazioni elevate nel post-durante quarantena. Dalla ricerca emerge una diminuzione statisticamente significativa delle prestazioni dei team dopo-durante la quarantena, rispetto al pre-quarantena. Successivamente, dalle analisi è emerso che nel post-durante quarantena la modalità di lavoro ibrida è percepita più positivamente rispetto alla modalità in presenza. Si deduce che la modalità di lavoro ibrida potrebbe rappresentare una scelta necessaria per le organizzazioni di successo. Il lavoro ibrido infatti rappresenta un nuovo modo di concepire l’organizzazione, focalizzando l’attenzione su una maggiore flessibilità e responsabilizzazione, un forte orientamento all’obiettivo, e un miglior equilibrio tra vita privata e vita lavorativa. Inoltre, le analisi si sono concentrate sull’elaborazione di modelli di regressione lineare multipla, per individuare i driver su cui agire per aumentare le prestazioni dei team. È risultato che, sia le competenze di intelligenza emotiva, sia quelle di Smart Attitude, sono positivamente correlate e presentano una significativa relazione predittiva verso le prestazioni dei team nel post-durante quarantena. Questo studio fornisce la prova che le competenze associate all’intelligenza emotiva e alla Smart Attitude, influiscono positivamente sulle prestazioni dei team, non soltanto sui team tradizionali, ma anche in quelli virtuali. Infine, le analisi effettuate suggeriscono che attraverso un percorso di team-coaching, che sviluppi le competenze abilitanti al lavoro smart e di intelligenza emotiva, si conseguirà un aumento statisticamente significativo sulle prestazioni del team

A robustness-oriented procedure for the design of tying reinforcement in precast concrete hollow-core floors

Buildings may be subjected during their service life to extreme events which can trigger progressive collapse. On this front, the role played by tying reinforcement in structural members is crucial for an adequate load redistribution and the avoidance of disproportionate collapse. This work proposes a robustness-oriented procedure for the design of tying reinforcement placed in the hollow-core units and beams of precast concrete buildings, where limited studies are available in scientific literature. In particular, the aim is to provide a simple yet reliable approach for the design of concentrated and distributed ties in precast floors by adopting fundamental input parameters such as the system’s chord rotation capacity and dynamic amplification factor, which are not considered in current design codes. Firstly, a flow-chart of the design procedure is proposed and discussed. Secondly, the input parameters are calculated based on recent analytical approaches - proposed by some of the authors - to optimize the tying reinforcement design. Finally, the efficiency of the design procedure is demonstrated with an application example, and a novel detailing scheme is proposed which is aimed at a significant enhancement of structural robustness.
