    Developing and Evaluating ECM Data Persistence Architecture

    Get PDF
    A conceptual data persistence architecture and methodology to evaluate its performance is created. Results of the empirical research indicate that the architecture created is convenient for high intensity processing of large ECM data volumes. The synthesis of SQL and NoSQL technology allows to handle high volume transactions on current data and full-text search on large sets of history data. The history data is moved from SQL to NoSQL data store thus allowing to use a cluster of commodity hardware to store major volume of ECM data. Scaling out (increasing a number of cluster nodes) is less expensive than scaling up (buying a more powerful server hardware) that is normally needed to upgrade SQL database

    Leveling the Financial Risks of Banking System with Use of Monitoring Instruments

    Get PDF
    The article is aimed at researching the essence and peculiarities of risks of banking system, in particular those related to legalization of illegal incomes, as well as formation of recommendations on leveling of such types of risks by means of monitoring instruments. The works of foreign and domestic scholars on the issues of occurrence and classification of risks of banking activity are analyzed, the essence and peculiarities of bank risks are concretized using the monographic method and morphological analysis, including the risks related to the legalization (laundering) of proceeds of crime, financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The operations that most often fall under the criteria of financial monitoring are closer defined from the point of risk. The legislative, methodological and institutional provision of regulation of banking activity and implementation of internal and the State monitoring are analyzed. The analysis and evaluation of Ukrainian banks’ compliance with economic standards of activity, their dynamics, tendencies of change and degree of instability are determined. On the basis of the obtained results, the directions of adjustment in the sphere of banking regulation are defined and ways of improvement of the financial monitoring system of banking activity are suggested

    "m=1" coatings for neutron guides

    A substantial fraction of the price for a supermirror neutron guide system is the shielding, which is needed because of the gamma radiation produced as a result of neutron absorption in the supermirror layers. Traditional coatings have been made of nickel-titanium heterostructures, but Ni and Ti also have a fairly high absorption cross section for cold and thermal neutrons. We examine a number of alternatives to Ni as part of a study to reduce the gamma radiation from neutron guides. Materials such as diamond and Be have higher neutron scattering density than Ni, smaller absorption cross section, and when a neutron is absorbed they emit gamma photons with lower energies. We present reflectivity data comparing Ni with Be and preliminary results from diamond coatings showing there use as neutron guide coatings. Calculations show that Be and diamond coatings emit two orders of magnitude fewer gamma photons compared to Ni, mainly because of the lower absorption cross section
