Comparative analysis of the competitiveness of food markets : the case of Kazakhstan, Russia, France and Belarus

    Get PDF
The purpose of this article is to identify the reasons for the competitiveness of products, namely butter, manufactured in France, Belarus and Russia, and their wide use in the Kazakhstani market for 2011-2016, by comparing the food industry and the agricultural sector. The main problem of import substitution in Kazakhstan is the non-competitiveness of domestic industrial enterprises, which shows that they do not pay attention to product quality. Research questions are: Why do consumers in Kazakhstan prefer imported butter? What are the main criteria for this choice? Why are butter manufacturers in Kazakhstan not competitive? The study is aimed at performing the analysis of literarure review of butter production in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and France, as well as identifying what aspects of the quality, import and competition of butter are discussed in Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia and France.peer-reviewe

English is the number one world language today. Writing in this language is the main task of every staff, including students. The article describes the difficulties that students encounter when mastering a written language in a foreign language course in English for Academic Purposes in the context of the specifics of the course. Methodological approaches to teaching foreign language written speech are analyzed, their strengths and weaknesses are identified, the possibility of using tasks inherent in these approaches in the course of academic writing to overcome the described difficulties is considered. Examples are given illustrating how tasks can be combined when writing an essay and annotation. The article shows some experiments with tables and explanations. The results of this article can be used in various scientific works and educational manuals in the future

Immunological indicators of complications of surgical bowel disease in children

The article is devoted to the development of immunological indicators of intestinal inflammation in children, which is of great importance for health authorities when organizing specialized pediatric and surgical services. The proposed method contributes to the early diagnosis and prevention of complications of inflammatory surgical bowel diseases in children, which is of great practical importance. The purpose of the study: To develop immunological indicators of complications of surgical bowel diseases in children. A retrospective analysis of 867 case histories of children who received inpatient treatment at the Department of Pediatric Surgery of the Bukhara branch of the Republican Scientific Center of Emergency Medical Care from 2019 to 2022 for surgical diseases of the gastrointestinal tract was carried out. The authors conducted an immunological study of 91 pediatric patients. All children underwent immunological blood tests: cellular and humoral immunity, cytokines (TNFΞ±, IFNΞ±, IL-8, MCP-1 and vascular endothelial growth factor VEGF-A) were studied. For the prevention of postoperative complications of CKD in children, it is recommended to determine IFNΞ± in the blood serum in the period before surgery to solve the indications for immunocorrection. A noticeable positive relationship was established between IFNΞ± and CD8 – r = 0.34, between IFNΞ± and CD23 – r = 0.38, between IFNΞ± and IgA – r = 0.39, between IFNΞ± and PCT – r = 0.36. At the same time, PCT has a noticeable negative relationship with CD16 – r = -0.31 and with CD8 – r = -0.31 against the background of a noticeable positive relationship with IgG – r = 0.32 and IFNΞ± – r = 0.36. It was found that IFNΞ± is a more informative indicator of the effectiveness of the immune response, and PCT is an indicator of the effectiveness of antibacterial therapy in surgical bowel diseases in childre

Adjuvant benefit of a peptide-rich marine biology formula (LD-1227) in rheumatoid arthritis: a randomized, double-blind, controlled study

Introduction. There is a growing interest on non-chemical therapies among patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis (RA), although safety, efficacy and properly designed studies are often lacking. Objective. The aim of the present investigation was to explore the clinical effectiveness of a marine nutraceutical, LD-1227, endowed by fine molecular biology studies, in the management of RA. Methods. The study design was a 12-week, randomized, double-blind study involving forty patients with stable longstanding RA who were randomized to receive either LD-1227 (n = 20) or Omega-3 (n = 20) on top of their established maintenance therapy. Results. At study recruitment and after 12 weeks of treatment, their Health Assessment Questionnaire (HAQ), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), visual analogue scale (VAS), and Disease Activity Score (DAS) 28, anxiety and depression analysis, C-reactive protein (CRP) levels, CXCL1, several pro-inflammatory interleukins levels and related gene expression, were compared between the two groups. Primary end point was the proportion of patients with response at weeks 12 as from the 20 % to 50% improvement criteria of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR20). At 12 weeks, ACR20 beneficial response was 81.0 % in LD-1227 group and 44 % in omega-3 group, (p< 0.01). The superiority of LD-1227 appeared also when considering the ACR50 response at 12 weeks (62% in LD-1227 group as compared to 31 % in omega-3 group, p< 0.01). The LD-1227-treated group displayed a significant improvement of VAS scale, HAQ score, morning stiffness and tender points (p < 0.01 vs control and p < 0.05 vs omega-3, respectively). From the biochemical viewpoint, patients in the LD-1227 group showed a lower level of CRP, IL-6, TNF-Ξ±, IL-1Ξ², CXCL1, IFNΞ³, IL-15 and IP-10 and significant downregulation of related gene expressions. Unlike what observed in LD-1227 group, in the omega-3 group, CRP and DAS28 did not reach statistical difference. A substantial reduction of extra pain killer use was noted under LD-1227 treatment. Conclusion. One can conclude that LD-1227 may play a significant role on the management of RA and with a specrum and mechanisms of actions distinct from the canonical omega-3 while being devoid of any side effect or tolerability issues

The isolated proteolytic domain of Escherichia coli ATP-dependent protease Lon exhibits the peptidase activity

AbstractSelective protein degradation is an energy-dependent process performed by high-molecular-weight proteases. The activity of proteolytic components of these enzymes is coupled to the ATPase activity of their regulatory subunits or domains. Here, we obtained the proteolytic domain of Escherichia coli protease Lon by cloning the corresponding fragment of the lon gene in pGEX-KG, expression of the hybrid protein, and isolation of the proteolytic domain after hydrolysis of the hybrid protein with thrombin. The isolated proteolytic domain exhibited almost no activity toward protein substrates (casein) but hydrolyzed peptide substrates (melittin), thereby confirming the importance of the ATPase component for protein hydrolysis. Protease Lon and its proteolytic domain differed in the efficiency and specificity of melittin hydrolysis

Summary. The study was conducted to evaluate therapeutic and preventive effect of chest cryomassage and sylvinite speleotherapy in addition to the standard drug therapy in patients with mild to moderate persistent partially controlled bronchial asthma. Effects of a comprehensive rehabilitation programme were confirmed by a distinct reduction in eosinophilic and neutrophilic inflammation, significant improvements in systemic immunity, lung function, cardiorespitatory hemodynamics, exercise tolerance, and psychological adaptation.РСзюмС.
