    A consistent talmudic rule for division problems with multiple references

    We consider an extension of the classic division problem with claims, division problems with multiple references. We show that the theory of cooperative games is able to provide a single-valued allocation rule for this class of problems. Moreover, this rule can be related with the Talmud rule for the classic division problem, as in Aumann and Maschler (J. Econ. Theory 36, 195–213, 1985). It has been found in the environs of La Torrecilla industrial area close to Córdoba.     Interpretation of HINODE SOT/SP asymmetric Stokes profiles observed in quiet Sun network and internetwork

    We present the first interpretation of the Stokes profile asymmetries measured in the FeI 630 nm lines by SOT/SP, in both quiet Sun internetwork (IN) and network regions. The inversion is carried out under the hypothesis of MISMA, where the unresolved structure is assumed to be optically thin. We analyze a 29.52"x31.70" subfield carefully selected to be representative of the properties of a 302"x162" quiet Sun field-of-view at disk center. The inversion code is able to reproduce the observed asymmetries in a very satisfactory way. The inversion code interprets 25% of inverted profiles as emerging from pixels in which both positive and negative polarities coexist. kG field strengths are found at the base of the photosphere in both network and IN; in the case of the latter, both kG fields and hG fields are admixed. When considering the magnetic properties at the mid photosphere most kG fields are gone, and the statistics is dominated by hG fields. We constrain the magnetic field of only 4.5% of the analyzed photosphere (and this percentage reduces to 1.3% when referred to all pixels, including those with low polarization not analyzed). The rest of the plasma is consistent with the presence of weak fields not contributing to the detected polarization signals. The average flux densities derived in the full subfield and in IN regions are higher than the ones derived from the same dataset by Milne-Eddington inversion. The existence of large asymmetries in SOT/SP polarization profiles is uncovered. These are not negligible in quiet Sun data. The MISMA inversion code reproduces them in a satisfactory way, and provides a statistical description of the magnetized IN and network which partly differs and complements the results obtained so far.     This paper present a set of procedures based on laser scanning, photogrammetry (Structure from Motion) and operational modal analysis in order to obtain accurate numeric models which allows identigying architectural complications that arise in historical buildings. In addition, themethod includes tools that facilitate building-damage monitoring tasks. All of these aimed to obtain robust basis for numerical analysis of the actual behavior and monitoring task. This case study seeks to validate said methodologies, using as an example the case of Saint Torcato Church, located in Guimãres, Portugal

The work was also financed by FEDER funds through the Competitiveness Factors Operational Programme - COMPETE and by national funds through FCT – Foundation for Science and Technology within the scope of the project POCI-01-0145-FEDER-007633.Currently in use, the Bôco Reinforced Concrete (RC) Bridge, built in the early of 20th century, is one of the oldest RC bridges in Portugal. Its initial structural system, erected following the Hennebique system, was retrofitted in the 1960s to support heavy traffic, increasing the section of its structural components. However, the low quality of implemented retrofitting solution has promoted the presence of pathological processes, mainly concrete spalling and steel corrosion. In this context, the present paper shows the first results obtained during the second experimental campaign carried out on the bridge. This campaign comprised the use of several minor and non-destructive methods (laser scanning, operational modal analysis, and laboratory material characterization and mechanical tests), with the aim of improving the knowledge of the bridge and create an accurate numerical simulation (by means of Finite Element Model) to evaluate the safety level of this bridge.     Energy Efficiency Indicators for Assessing Construction Systems Storing Renewable Energy: Application to Phase Change Material-Bearing Façades

    Assessing the performance or energy efficiency of a single construction element by itself is often a futile exercise. That is not the case, however, when an element is designed, among others, to improve building energy performance by harnessing renewable energy in a process that requires a source of external energy. Harnessing renewable energy is acquiring growing interest in Mediterranean climates as a strategy for reducing the energy consumed by buildings. When such reduction is oriented to lowering demand, the strategy consists in reducing the building’s energy needs with the use of construction elements able to passively absorb, dissipate, or accumulate energy. When reduction is pursued through M&E services, renewable energy enhances building performance. The efficiency of construction systems that use renewable energy but require a supplementary power supply to operate can be assessed by likening these systems to regenerative heat exchangers built into the building. The indicators needed for this purpose are particularly useful for designers, for they can be used to compare the efficiency or performance to deliver an optimal design for each building. This article proposes a series of indicators developed to that end and describes their application to façades bearing phase change materials (PCMs)
