Warm intermediate inflation in the Randall-Sundrum II model in the light of Planck 2015 and BICEP2 results: A general dissipative coefficient

    Get PDF
A warm inflationary Universe in the Randall-Sundrum II model during intermediate inflation is studied. For this purpose, we consider a general form for the dissipative coefficient Γ(T,ϕ)=Cϕ Tmϕm−1\Gamma(T,\phi)=C_{\phi}\,\frac{T^{m}}{\phi^{m-1}}, and also analyze this inflationary model in the weak and strong dissipative regimes. We study the evolution of the Universe under the slow-roll approximation and find solutions to the full effective Friedmann equation in the brane-world framework. In order to constrain the parameters in our model, we consider the recent data from the BICEP2-Planck 2015 data together with the necessary condition for warm inflation T>HT>H, and also the condition from the weak (or strong) dissipative regime.Comment: 26 pages, 3 figures, accepted for publication in the European Physical Journal

A warm intermediate inflationary model in the context of Generalized Chaplygin Gas is investigated. We study this model in the weak and strong dissipative regimes, considering a generalized form of the dissipative coefficient Γ=Γ(T,ϕ)\Gamma=\Gamma(T,\phi), and we describe the inflationary dynamics in the slow-roll approximation. We find constraints on the parameters in our model considering the Planck 2015 data, together with the condition for warm inflation T>HT>H, and the conditions for the weak and strong dissipative regimes.Comment: 33 pages, 7 figues, final version accepted for publication in The European Physical Journal C. arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:1504.0747

Trends and cycles: How important are long- and short-run restictions? The case of Mexico

    Get PDF
The document presents a test for the existence of binding long- and short-run (common trend-common cycle) restrictions in the dynamics of a set of Mexican macroeconomic variables. These restrictions are imposed in a VAR to decompose the series into their permanent and transitory components. The analysis shows that the magnitude of transitory (nominal) shocks is underestimated when such restrictions are not considered. In addition, we find that the timing and duration of recession and expansion periods are more accurately estimated when the trend-cycle decomposition is conducted with the imposition of cointegrating (long-run) and common feature (short-run) restrictions.

Treballs Finals de Grau de Química, Facultat de Química, Universitat de Barcelona, Any: 2019, Tutors: Maria Sarret Pons, Carlos Rodriguez AbreuChromonics are an interesting class of lyotropic liquid crystals with several potential medical and technological applications. Their confinement in emulsions provides an opportunity to design advanced organic-based materials. In this work, 9 dyes are tested in order to establish chromonic behaviour. Their phases are characterized using Polarized Optical Microscopy and Small Angle X-Ray Scattering (SAXS). Some of them are used for the formulation of stable water-in-oil (W/O) and water-in-water (W/W) emulsions, which are characterized using rheological techniques. Mesogenic phases were observed in seven of the nine studied dyes. Acid red 27, Alcian blue (chloride and acetate salts), Congo red and Neutral red acetate formed chromonic nematic (Nc phase) and hexagonal (M phase) columnar phases. The structure of their phases was not characterized due to partial insolubility. The representative chromonic phases are shown through the partial phase diagram of nickel (II) phthalocyanine tetra-sulfonic acid. This compound stacks in cylindrical columns in both Nc and M phases, with a diameter of one molecule. Two of the studied dyes were used to formulate the emulsion confinement. Representative optical textures of these systems were observed, as star-like and tactoid forms. The chromonic nematic phase of pinacyanol acetate was confined in drops of W/O emulsions with polydimethylsiloxane, vinyldimethylsiloxy terminated as the oil phase. The drop size was highly polydisperse and above 2 [mi]m. This emulsion showed a Newtonian rheology behaviour. Nickel (II) phthalocyanine tetra-sulfonic acid chromonic nematic phase was confined in W/W emulsions with added polyvinylpirrolydone. The W/W emulsion presented a polydisperse drop size larger than 1 [mi]m and showed a Newtonian behaviour. Other oils, surfactants and polymers were tested

Liability of service providers for comments made in their websites; The rights of freedom of speech and information against the right to honor in Spain in light of the Judgment of the European Court of Human Rights of October 10, 2013 in the case Delfi v. Estonia

This work aims to address, in a practical way, the issue concerning the protection of the right to honor in social networks and websites through the European and Spanish case-law. This is an analysis of the content of such a right, the limits on the rights to freedom of information and speech, as well as regulatory changes needed to adjust the current legislation
